It doesn't take a lot of history to recognized that using Ukraine as a tool against Russia has been in the works in United States for virtually a quarter-century. My understanding is that Russia does not want to destroy Odessa and is hoping a near collapse of Ukraine will allow them dictate terms regarding Odessa. Russia will not allow Ukraine to have access to the Black Sea now.
That said, the desperation in the West / Ukraine is so extreme a nuclear / chemical / CIA / special forces false flag is surely (sadly) on the table.

I'm sorry Tony Shaffer is "anti-Russian". It doesn't take a lot of history to recognized that using Ukraine as a tool against Russia has been in the works in United States for virtually a quarter-century. We have set this up, pursued it, and refused to negotiate with Russia, so we forced Russia to do what it had to do to defend its own land. I am thankful that Russia has such solid leadership to steer their way through this mess as well as they have.

The USA and U.K. has been anti Russian for over 100 years. The British invaded Crimea in 1853 including their infamous Charge of the Light Brigade sending their cavalry into the Valley of Death. No change since then.
I appreciate where LtCol. Shaffer's heart is. Sadly, he is not that well educated. He should inform himself about what the Budapest Memorandum actually was, there was never any kind of written agreement re eastward expansion of Nato. Maybe he also should try to get a deeper understanding about Marxism and what it actually is. And yes, also I like Ronald Reagan, but his "Reaganomics" is one of the reasons why the US is now economically in an uncontrollable sinking pattern. This is quite important, because I think, a deeper analysis could well yield that the current belligerence of the US is part of a a desperate attempt to defend some value of the US-dollar and thus the UIS economy.(which will not work and probably make things worse, but that's another topic).
