Installation of Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas took place as the fourth Bishop of the Daltonganj Diocese
Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas, who served seven years as the auxiliary bishop of the Ranchi Archdiocese and two years as the Apostolic Administrator of Daltonganj, was made Bishop of Daltonganj Diocese with a solemn installation Eucharistic Celebration as the fourth bishop of the Diocese. This installation ceremony was held in the ground of Saint Joseph's School. The ceremony was led by His Grace Leopoldo Girelli, Apostolic Nuncio to India and Nepal. At the beginning of the mass, Archbishop Anil Joseph Kutto of Delhi proposed the name of Bishop Theodore as the bishop of Daltonganj and Archbishop Felix Toppo asked for the confirmation letter from Pope and it was read by Apostolic Nuncio for the public which was in Latin.
Then Father Pradeep Baxla read the Hindi translation of the same. After that, archbishop Felix Toppo and Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Leopoldo Gerelli handed over the seat of the cathedral to Bishop Theodore, which shows that the authority of the bishop of the kingdom of the kingdom is given to him. Then the ritual was completed in the usual way. It should be noted that there were no bishops in the Daltonganj parish for the last seven years, and then the present bishop of Hazaribagh, Anand Jojo, and Bishop Theodore were employed as apostolic administrators. Bishop Theodore is the fourth permanent bishop. In the homily bishop said that he can run the diocese only with the help of the faithful, priests and religious. On this auspicious day His EminenceCardinal Philip Neri, Archbishop of Goa and Daman, the Most Rev. Archbishop Anil Kuto, Archbishop of Delhi, Most Rev. Sebastian Kalupura, Archbishop of Patna, others 17 Bishops from different Dioceses, Provincials from different societies, more than 300 priests, more than one thousand Sisters, and approximately ten thousand faithful, were present for the function.

बिशप थिओडोर मस्करेन्हास जो रांची धर्मप्रान्त के सहायक बिशप के रूप में सात साल और डाल्टनगंज के प्रेरितिक प्रशासक के रूप कार्यरत थे उनका डाल्टनगंज धर्मप्रान्त के चौथे बिशप के रूप में उनका पदग्रहण समारोह संत जोसेफ स्कूल के मैदान में बड़े ही धूमधाम से संपन्न हुआ। यह धर्मविधि भारत और नेपाल के पोप के राजदूत अति माननीय आर्च बिशप लियोपोलडो जेरेली के द्वारा की गई । मिस्सा के शुरुवात में दिल्ली के आर्च बिशप अनिल जोसेफ कुट्टो ने बिशप थिओडोर के नाम को डाल्टनगंज के बिशप के रूप में प्रस्ताव रखा और आर्च बिशप फेलिक्स टोप्पो ने उसे सत्यापित करने को कहा । तत्पश्चात पोप के राजदूत ने पोप द्वारा भेजे गए बुल को जो लैटिन भाषा में थी विश्वासियों को पढ़कर सुनाया और फादर मोरिस जो शांति की महारानी कैथेड्रल के पल्ली पुरोहित है को सौंप दी और उन्होंने उसे सभी बिश्वासियों के सामने पेश किया। तत्पश्चात फादर प्रदीप बखला ने उस बुल को हिंदी में पढ़कर सुनाया। उसके बाद आर्च बिशप फेलिक्स टोप्पो और राजदूत आर्च बिशप लियोपोल्डो जेरेली ने सीट ऑफ कैथेड्रा बिशप थिओडोर को सौंप दी जो यह दर्शाता है कि धर्मप्रान्त की महागिरजा का अधिकार बिशप को दिया जाता है । तत्पश्चात धर्मविधि सामान्य रूप से संपन्न हुई। बता दे कि डाल्टनगंज धर्मप्रान्त में पिछले सात सालों से कोई बिशप नहीं हुए थे और तब हजारीबाग के वर्तमान बिशप आनंद जोजो और बिशप थिओडोर ने प्रेरितिक प्रशासक के रूप में कार्यरत रहे । बिशप थिओडोर यहां के चौथे स्थायी बिशप हैं।
बिशप थिओडोर ने कहा कि वे बहुत खुश हैं और आगे के जीवन में वे सभी विश्वासियों से प्रार्थना के सहयोग की अपील की।
इस धार्मिक पवित्र धर्मविधि में अति माननीय कार्डिनल फिलिप नेरी आर्च बिशप गोवा और दमन, अति माननीय आर्च बिशप अनिल कुटो आर्च बिशप दिल्ली, अति माननीय सेबास्टियन कालूपुरा आर्च बिशप पटना, 17 बिशप, विभिन्न समाजों के प्रोविंशियल, 300 से अधिक पुरोहित, एक हजार से अधिक धर्मबहने, और करीब दस हजार से ज्यादा विश्वासी उपस्थित थे। इस धार्मिक विधि में दो जन- सेवक श्री रामचंद्र सिंह (विधायक मनुका), श्रीमती शिल्पी नेहा तिर्की (विधायक मांडर) भी इसके साक्षी बने ।
