honestly i'm with simon on this. the fact that the audience was booing him for this. originally britians got talent was supposed to be a professional audition not a primary school talent show. i myself had found this embarassing. if i was a judge i would've done the same thing i don't get why he got booed.

I agree with Simon. This makes me mad tbh. They did an act with absolutely no talent. And you can’t just say yes because you like the song. And you’re telling me that you are gonna let some people in the crowd who aren’t even professional judges to judge that horrible act. It just got me mad how they would say yes to that act.

This is the only time that I found David agreeing to Amanda a bit annoying. I get it he's nice and very considerate but Simon is correct. "Listen to the public", but most of the time it doesn't apply to that. They're professional judges, Simon especially. I'm kinda disappointed about it, and boo those people who boo'd at Simon. I'm sorry my opinion may upset you.
It appears that almost everyone who commented on this video disliked this act.
Some would even go as far as to question the intellegence of the audience and the professionalism of the judges.
Specifically, there are many people who believes that anyone who sings Disney songs would get a vote from Amanda and that David would vote for just about anyone.
I don't believe that the judges would vote somebody in just to piss off another judge.
If you do just a little bit of research, you can see that every judge have more than enough background to qualify for this job and each of them have been invited back over and over again.
I'm sure we can all understand the perspective of Simon and Alesha and why they didn't like the act, so there's no need to elaborate further on that.
Now why did Amanda and David believe the act should advance to the next round? What did they see in this act that the other two judges didn't see? And what did the audience like about the act?
Given the chance, I believe that each of the judges will be able to back up their votes with logical reasoning. Sometimes they may not agree with each other because they have different perspectives, but at the end of the day they respect each other's decisions and professionalism and they can agree to disagree.
I would also like to point out that judges don't always solely base their votes on how good the act is at the current state.
A good judge will always look beyond the current state to examine and uncover the potential of the act and the talent of the performer.
Simon does this a lot and he is very good at it. Just look at the videos where he stopped singer and asked them to sing a different song or sing the same song in a better way.
You may say that there are some clear flaws that you can see with the act.
My knowledge of the entertainment industry is no where near as the judges, but I have some speculations.
It has to do with target audiences.
A song that's designed to attract female buyers would be very different from a song that's designed to attract male buyers. A song designed to entertain accountants, lawyers, and doctors would probably sound very boring to event planners and fashion designers.
There are certain details in songs that are very important to one type of audience, but they might be totally ignored by another group.
Let me give you a perfect example. If someone with a background in classical music listens to a person playing Chopin's Etude Op. 10 No. 4, he would immediately know if an extra note was added or removed. He would also know if a note is played louder or quieter than it's supposed to be. He would even know if the piece was played at a different speed than it was intended.
Whereas for someone without any background in music, 10-30% of the piece could be played wrong and it would go completely unnoticed and he would still enjoy the music and have a good time listening to it.
The two audience in this case care about completely different things. The average audience doesn't really care that you're playing every note perfectly. For the classical musician however, every wrong note is disruption to immersion and preventing him from enjoying the music.
I can safely say that if both audiences are impressed by the music, they would be impressed by completely different things.
I believe that a combination of seeing the potential of the act, understanding that certain flaws from the performance would not affect the audience that the act is targeting, and likely other reasons that I may not know led to Amanda and David supporting the act to go to the next round.

People are saying they agree with Simon and tbh I did too except I thought and everyone we talked to after agreed that it was rude because he didn’t come back and do what he normally would do and thank the audience and the judges and say a few words to us all just because he didn’t agree with them and us.

I agree with some of the users here that he's a veteran judge, but it seems a 'tad' off when the audience starts booing at his critiques - it's like a trademark of AGT and BGT.
