  • Today we're excited to bring you a conversation about treating long-COVID using functional medicine with Dr. Anna Sattah.
Dr. Sattah is a critical care physician and recently joined our team as a functional medicine practitioner at Capital Integrative Health. After spending nearly 10 years practicing in critical care, in particular through the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Sattah turned to functional medicine to learn how to improve patient’s resilience in advance of a COVID infection as well as for addressing Long COVID.
As the world is still coping with the COVID-19 pandemic, many individuals are experiencing long-lasting symptoms, often for months after their initial infection. This can be tough to deal with and can leave people struggling to get back to their normal lives.
If this resonates with you, this is an episode you don’t want to miss. Please enjoy.

Wonderful approach! Great intro for people to begin to understand 'functional medicine'.
And, continually returning to issue of mitochondrial dysfunction as approaching 'root cause' on the continuum, is such a help in guiding critical thought about the stars and trends of the current medical paradigm shortfalls in chronic disease pathology scientific intent.
    Thank you!

Does, NIR from the sun reach into significant cortex to help initiate more melatonin in mitochondria to help excess ROS cleanup, when glutathione is not as optimally present?

How important is BBB damage potential from Pb per oxidation of lipid layers, in perforating BBB, allowing other contaminants access to brain? And, does damage by spike protein also do similar BBB breaching?

Does sildenafil use also reach endothelial cells in the microvasculature of the brain, to dilate the smooth muscle, increasing blood flow to better reach more mitochondria with O2, nutrients, signaling hormones etc. to increase ATP?

Almost all presentations of the various mitochondrial dysfunction pressures in brain diseases, by medical podcasters reviewing the science, miss addressing the comorbidity of brain lead harming glutathione by up to 60%. I'm very concerned that the toxicology of lead has such a strong research library of adverse effects in brain, yet this seems largely skipped over. When the body comes under stresses of illness, old age, pregnancy etc. and seeks quick additional Ca, the bone lead content can get mobilized along with the Ca at the most vulnerable times. Does the taking of vitamin K2 mk7, when transporting excess Ca back to bone, also transport Pb back there fairly quickly? If not, what does?
