Montserrat was so generous in concert also. Once in London at the ROH she must have sang 6 or 7 encore. Sometimes the encore were as long as the concert itself. To experience Montserrat on stage was thruly amazing. And she loved to laugh. One night in english she wanted to say something but it came out with a double sense and she could not stop laughing for a good 5 minutes. She was just a wonderful , warm and charming person. One of the great soprano of the 20th century. Her Norma at Orange in France is part of the greatest moment in opera of all times. I keep listening to you all the time Montserrat. Thank you so much.

She just said very nicely " please no flasher". Then she realised what she had said and started laughing. The entire audience joined in and she could not stop laughing. When Montserrat got the giggles you knew when it started but you never knew when she would be able to stop. I can still see her leaning on the piano trying to continue her concert. Every time she got ready to start singing she just burst out laughing again. It must of lasted a good 10 minutes. God bless you Montserrat.

After god knows how many hundreds/thousands of bouquets she'd received by that stage she was still acknowledging the appreciation her audiences felt for her. She was a true diva, without all the negatives traditionally associated with that position.

El publico venezolano vitoreo a Montserrat Caballé con la máxima emoción ! Bravo!!! Venezuela estuvo entre los pocos países latinoamericanos que la diva cantó en público. Que dicha y privilegio para estos países haber escuchado a una de las más grandes divas del siglo XX!
En esta misma gira vino tambien a Cartagena de indias donde dio un concierto con piano de canciones latinoamericanas y españolas y algo de zarzuela pero jamas un programa tan bueno como lo que canto en Caracas. Solo canto dos o tres aras de opera como encores.
Varios de los enormes cantantes líricos de los años cincuenta, sesenta y setenta visitaron Venezuela antes del socialismo, Pavarotti, Caballé y Fillipeschi inclusive fueron grabados tanto en Caracas como en Valencia. Durante los ochenta y los noventa a pesar de la carencia de cantantes del calibre de los antes mencionados varias "estrellas" líricas nos visitaron, hoy en día no somos el escenario cultural internacional que solíamos ser.

And she was versatile, she sang lyric, dramatic, coloratura arias, including those by Wagner. She gave so much beauty to the world, may the good Lord rest her in eternal peace.

Never seen the whole Orchestra clap along with the audience, for what seemed, forever, so incredibly well deserved. Then, OMG, what came afterwards!
