Imagine Sisters you are wonderful! When my mom found out I was discerning she became very upset and cried and every time the topic was discussed afterwards it was very uncomfortable for me. I stopped discerning for awhile but I kept feeling like God was nudging me to be open to religious life and now I have to tell my mother again and I'm apprehensive but its nice to hear from a Sister who's had a similar experience. Thank you and God Bless!

I am not sure why but I cried. I think I just really needed this as I'm sure other girls did too. Thank you!

My dad is super supportive of me, but my mom seems to be very much like Sr. Ignatia's mother; kind of not wanting to talk about it, disappointed about all of the stuff that she won't be able to do with/for me in the future, and my extended family will go nuts. I really needed to see this.

Impasse I'll keep you in my prayers. I'm reminded of what the Savior said about leaving father and mother and sister and brother for him. Just keep that in mind. If the Lord is calling you then you should respond with faith and let your parents deal with it in their own way, but don't allow them to keep you from responding to the Lord's calling. One Sister Truly Can Change the World. Let the Holy Spirit guide you.

My dad is all for my desire to become a sister, but my mom as a Protestant is very stand-offish about it.
(I distinctly remember her saying when she was Catholic that she wanted her children to become nuns and priests. What happened.....)
