Good job bro ! It takes guts trying different things but pay off in the end . Quick question tho would it be even better to install a multi scale bridge ?

Good question. I think if you are planning on doing a mod to your guitar like I did, it’s a good idea to replace the bridge with something pretty similar to what is already there. I technically could’ve gone for the single saddle type of bridge that is often used on multiscale guitars. But I think that would’ve been harder to get those perfectly straight. And it would’ve required more drilling. This Bridge I Installed only has 2 screws anchoring it down. So this bridge seemed a little easier to install and get perfectly straight. The lowest string saddle is the one that has to go the furthest back. An all in one Multiscale bridges it’s usually a steeper angle all the way across the bridge. So depending on the angle and tuning, strings other than the lowest one might not be able to intonate very well. Also string height/action capabilities of the bridges/guitar should be examined before swapping out a guitar bridge. Not every bridge will sit at the same height. Sorry for the long answer, just important things to consider.

Nice tone and cool riffs. This is just the video i needed. I suspected that these Ibby HM bridges might solve the intonation problems with drop F#. They look like their saddles should move pretty far compared to the older fixed bridge designs.
I have a 25 year old 25.5" Ibanez Rg7621 that can't perfectly intonate B standard with 9-52s, but I'm using a balanced tension 10-72 hex core daddario set for drop G#-F# anyway.
For what it's worth, I've found 2 custom string companies that allow you to really dial in the low strings with finer increments like 65, 66, 67, etc. Mapes strings (US), and Newtone strings (UK)
I'm about to test drive some round core Mapes 10.5-67s and octagon core 10.5-69s for drop F# with a fresh setup and see what happens w/ the intonation and tone situation. In theory the rounder cores should have higher mass and more tension.

Hey thanks! The Hipshot Ibby High mass bridges certainly do offer a lot more room for saddle/intonation adjusting. I did install the new bridge just a few hairs further back then the stock bridge. I did this cause I noticed there was wasted space in front of the highest string saddles on the bridge.
Hex core strings hu? 🤔… interesting never tried them. I do get some larger strings from kalium though. You should let me know how it goes for you though. I used a 90 gauge string for the lowest string. I do like more tension then most it seems. I feel like when going this low, on a 25.5 inch scale guitar, string tension is important to combat pitch drift. I also didn’t talk about it in the video but I did need to file the nut for the strings so they would sit correctly in the nut and at the proper string height/action. You probably already know about this, just worth mentioning in case you didn’t.

UPDATE: The round core 67 does have significantly more tension than the daddario NYXL (hex core) 72, but the quality control on my 1st set of Mapes custom strings is terrible.
The high string slipped off the ball end while tuning, there are a few flattened spots on some of the wound strings, and there are several bent spots here and there.
It's a shame because the odd guages are great. My low F#/G# actually sounds like a normal guitar now instead of a bass.
I wasn't gonna leave a bad review before giving them a chance to make things right (customer service is out til monday), but for the time being, I would steer clear of Mapes strings. It seems like their machines weren't calibrated right for my strange order.
For what it's worth, my low note intonation still sucks lol.

You installed a hipshot Ibby HM bridge?Thats a bummer, the problem with the strings. Is there a lot of pitch drift currently? or are the fretted notes coming out sharp? I have a lot of videos i want to make, including how i setup my guitars. Might be helpful especially for anyone wanting to get good intonation while tuning low.@@jimihendrix1650

Nah, I'm using the stock bridge. I'm thinking of getting a 26.5" schecter with the ibby HM, so I'm just experimenting to see how close I can get to F# on a 25.5 before deciding.
Pitch drift isn't really an issue for me above about 15lbs of tension. Its there, but in a good controllable way lol.
I'll probably try kallium next and shorten the saddle and just use this guitar for drop G#
Good luck with the channel, and cool erg collection. Subd

@@jimihendrix1650 hey bro, thanks, and thanks for the sub. Sometimes Kalium has taken a long time to get my strings to me that I ordered. Sometimes they have been pretty quick. So just a heads up. Which Schecter you are looking at? 🤔 P.S I have a lot more guitars I haven’t made videos with yet… 🤔
