Keith was the best bass player I have ever heard live..I`ve played classical guitar for over 50 years...have never heard anyone play the bass like him.

As much as I love SRV, Jimmie Vaughan was a way tastier player than Stevie. He didn't overdo it like Stevie and used space (especially today)- something most guitarists don't know how to do anymore. Even though Stevie was a blues player at heart, he played blues like a rock guitarist.

I attended LSU in Baton Rouge 1972-1979 and sew the T-Birds several times at a club called "Chief's".I spent the summer of 1977 living in Austin and saw them many times there at Antone's and elsewhere. Back to LSU in the fall of 1977 and saw them any time they came to town. Left LSU in 1979 for Houston and saw them there at Rockefeller's. This 1982 show appears to be from a club called Trinity's in Baton Rouge (possibly a successor to the Kingfish club.)

Saw them in Melbourne in 1988…. They had this hypnotic vibe where through understatement they pushed the crowd to screaming point… something about the way they swing… that combined with Jimmie’s absolute mastery of playing on the edge… this was the definitive lineup… don’t know why Jimmie left and never came back but there has never been a fitting replacement… love these guys Bassist RIP

This is exemplary for anyone to hear where the harp should be in the mix of a blues band! Too many sound men in clubs, engineers in studios, and even other musicians often don't have a clue! As a harp player myself, I get sick of hearing all these people tell me to dial it down, while the rest of the band is loud as shit, and the harp is getting buried underneath it all!

The tour had Gene Taylor on piano and Billy Flynn on guitar, but they did not make this particular show, so it was just Wilson, Troy Gonyea on guitar, Richard Innes on drums and me on bass.
