I just started growing corn in my yard, so thanks so much for explaining how to pollinate with demonstrations. 😊

When you clip the tassel at 1:11, you can see a "poof" of pollen from it. Pretty neat.

Awesome video. I grow most of my gardens as polycultures, so hand pollination has been my son's job for the last 2 years. Corn requires a 4 by 4 grid as the minimum for wind pollination.
How many times per day do you hand pollinate? We only do 1 or 2 times per day.

Do NOT wait up to 14 days as video suggests or it'll be far too late. As soon as you see the silks up until slightly over a week is long enough. It's not a good idea to self pollinate if its going to rain later that day but it's more beneficial for small home gardens.

Hi, thank you for watching. Thank you for pointing this out, it's worth clarifying that the ideal time really is within four to five days after the silks emerge.

They're just for safety - if people are looking in the bed they don't knock their eyes/head on the top of the bamboo canes! Thanks for watching :)

Clip a some pollen twigs, put them in a water mist sprayer bottle, shake it, remove the twigs, spray it on the silks.
What’s your opinion on this method for indoor plants?
