Soy alemana y llegué a España a los 14 años (tengo 41 ahora). Hay cosas que se podrían mejorar, como en cualquier otro país, pero por nada en el mundo volvería a Alemania...
Soy árabe y no sé si aprender español o alemán. Quiero viajar con una beca y vivir en Europa. Se sabe que Alemania es el destino de becas y estudios gratuitos, aunque hemos oído mucho sobre la dureza de los alemanes, pero nos vemos obligados a viajar a Alemania para Una vida mejor. Me interesa mucho tu opinión sobre este tema.
i am living in spain from almost 3 years and i love everything about it basically i am living in Donostia san sebastian and here people are so nice and friendly cleanliness is on top beauty is on top security just few things are happening from 1 and half year is here prices of grocery and rental are going high like a rocket if they will be increasing the way its increased i think it will be difficult to stay here for a long time.
I would love to know what they think about the work life culture in Spain ? Could shed some interesting perspectives !
here we work for living not live for working
the salaries are on the down side compared to the rest of eu but it's a little bit cheaper (not too much)
we have a lot of holidays and free days during the year
Lo que más me costó a mi, sin duda era la burocracia. Bueno, sigo costándome cada vez que tengo algún tramite que hacer. Pero lo bien que se come aquí, lo bonito que es el país, y la amabilidad de la gente compensan.

Yo le dije a mis amigos que vinieran a las 7:30 porque quería que llegaran a las 8, pero me pillaron el farol y llegaron a las 8:30 igualmente 🤦🏻♂️

I think punctuality really depend on each person as the latin woman said for a doctor appointment you must be punctual, but many times you are allowed to be attended if they call your name again.
For jobs interwiews we are punctual, at least i do that.
For meetings with friends some peolle like me can be late for soeme minuts, but not for more of half an hour like the dutch girls spoke.
Totally depends on each person, but i admit many people usually get late.😂
About parties i suppose that they are so extended , many people come up at any time for sure😅

The lady asking the questions is Latin American, at least those are her origins. She is an immigrant as well.

In northern Europe they there is less or non racist compared to Spain. That's for sure. It's weird actually, but maybe normal. The school system in Spain is little behind, slow, or even backward in many places.
Politics does not say that, the Nordic countries today are more anti-immigration than Spain, even though Spain is the gateway for American and African immigration to the European continent and one of the countries that receives the most foreigners in the world.
Viví en España durante casi un año y siendo estadounidense diría que la falta de puntualidad me molestaba al principio, pero tal como la holandesa empecé a volverme más tranquilo con el paso del tiempo.
Yo soy español, tengo 34 años, y la falta de puntualidad me sigue molestando muchísimo 😂. Que alguien se retrase entre 1 y 5 minutos me parece perfectamente entendible. Pero más tiempo me resulta molesto e irrespetuoso.
Yo trabajo con estadounidenses y no veo que sean más puntuales
Los estadounidenses son bastante mas impuntuales
Españita es mas puntual que Japon y medio planeta por eso es potencia mundial xd

Se nota que no llevan toda la vida viviendo aqui en los pueblos ahi cambia la cosa que la gente son mas cerrados.
Puede que sean más cerrados en los pueblos respecto a las ciudades pero sé justo: haz las comparaciones entre las mismas categorías y te darás cuenta de que aún así somos más abiertos en general.
Love food and the people. what I don’t like is they don’t embrace the use of air conditioning…my wife’s family live in Barcelona…her nephew has AC, but preferred to have the windows open when it was hot outside-even at night; I had trouble sleeping as it was 25-26 inside the apartment with no air circulation …I like to sleep with a temperature inside of 21 or 22. My wife’s niece doesn’t even have AC in her apartment-we spend most afternoons there…I was dying; I had to stay in the balcony most of the time for the breeze; inside was like a sauna. Also, the stores were hot inside-I was sweating while grocery shopping; it should be freezing cold inside a store, not 26c
In Spain it is illegal to put the AC below 25°C in stablishments during summer

Is sad that in Spain decent people had a lot of issues getting the visa, but the worse that comes ilegally have a visa really fast.

El adjetivo en idioma inglés "cool" no fue bueno/positivo, en está ocasión.
Porque el adjetivo que debió usar es "cold". Cool and cold significan básicamente lo mismo, pero los matices son diferentes. Cool es "fresco" y cold es "frío".
Ten en cuenta que ella era holandesa y aunque hablan un inglés casi perfecto, sigue sin ser su lengua nativa.

I heard good thing about spain from friends but I worry racism can be bad over there.

Being a black American that lived in Spain for nearly a year, I can shed some perspective on that, I never experienced racism directly, but of course I did get the odd look or people would automatically assume that I was an African immigrant just because I was black (even though I spoke fluent Spanish with little to accent).
This is just my personal experience, of course as I’m sure there some people that have experienced racism more directly.

Honestly, Spain has absolutely no problem with racism, whatever they say. From my personal experience (I have lived 10 years in Germany, 5 years in the Netherlands 3 in Belgium, 2 in the UK and 7 in Spain), Spain is the least racist country of them - by far! People really see the human in you and are so incredibly compassionate. Maybe comparing with 3 colonial countries (especially Belgium, UK and Germany, who had colonies until only 100(!!) years ago) does not seem fair, but this is just from what I can tell from my own experience.
P.S. Although i have a Dutch name, I am biracial myself.
