Great review, Igor. I always get a great deal of information from your presentations. Thank you for providing these reviews.
Nice review. I have just purchased the TTS 5 5 Pro and will be using it along side resin projects I did the same thing with the bolts which go underneath the stepper motors I put the belt and tensioner on before putting the bolts in lol.
You are right it needs some type of boundary check.

Hello, does the laser engraver have to be connected to the computer with a cable if you want to use it with wifi or an app?
hello sir can you please tell me the operation during the cutting in software and setting laser moduale
Thank u
is this good for engrave metal business cards and tumblers?
Sabes si al cortar y/o grabar deja quemaduras? tanto al MDF o madera y al aluminio o tela, plastico?
compared to Ortur M2 pro, which one is more recommended
I already tried cutting with mine but it doesn't cut... could you tell me if I have to put it in M3?
I've already done all the settings and I can't cut it, please help me... I live in Brazil
Merci beaucoup Mr Igor, love you from Burkina Faso j'ai payé cette machine tts 55 sur Alibaba, mais je n'ai aucune idée sur la fonctionnalité,tel que graver, couper...,mais je vais apprendre avec l'application MKS
Hi Igor. I am looking for a machine for cutting 1mm acryl and to engrave on small shipping boxes. Do you have recommendations for a budget machine?
Depend of the size, if 300x300 is enough, TTS is a great engraver. If bigger, I could recommend Ortur Aufero 2 (400x400mm). 5W is enough for the job (but only for non-transparent acrylic)
Does this not work with a Chromebook laptop? I bought one thinking it would work with it but it doesn’t let me download the software
Thanks for the nice video... But I have a question, what are the parameters of engraving the stainless steel?
It is in the video too (text, bottom of screen) czcams.com/video/8YIPKHZnk5w/video.html
Please which honeycomb size for this machine?
Creality Falcon 5w or Two tree tts-55?
Nice review, especially for those like me who do not have any experience with laser units. I like to buy one , but cheap ( less or arround than $400), 80x40 area and for about 10W output laser.
Do you have a recommendation about what frame and 10W are the best budget friendly? I was thinking in a ZBauti laser but i am not sure.
I hope you have some advice. Thanks
Atomstack has good 10W laser modules, but they moving mechanic is not perfect, resulting a lot of vibrations. But for cutting, speed doesn't has to be big.
@@MyTechFun Thanks for the response and the comments. Do you have a preferred or suggested brand with a better moving mechanism? Thanks again!!!!!!!
@@alexherrera3918 not sure if its to late but i went with the tts-55 and then will upgrade the laser if air assist wont cut what i need, they also now have an upgrade laser to 1065nm
Is there a ch340 driver for windows 11? Which version of windows did you use?
Any recommendation for transparent acrylic cutting?
Diode lasers are not good for transparent acrylic cutting. You need something like K40 (CO2 laser cutter)
can u please send me the usb content of the microsd card i lost mine and i dont have the files
Hello! I have the tts 10 pro which is basically the same as 5.5 but the laser output is 10W. I tried to engrave or cut transparent acrylic, but it won't work! Can you help?
It cannot cut transparent acrylic. This blue laser just goes through it Try black. For transparent you need CO2 laser.
I just finished assembling mine however when i turn it on i see no visible light emitting from laser, led on top of module lights up, does it by chance have to be plugged into pc first before laser is visible? Manual was very unclear
Thanks, Igor, for as always very balanced and useful review. Thumbs up!
I have two questions regarding this laser engraver (I thought I posted them a few days back, but now they are not here), which I would greatly appreciate if you could answer:
1) Could you please enable the laser at a its lowest power (in Lightburn on my machine I do 0.1%) and project the light onto a surface 1-2 meters away - this way you can clearly see the shape of the 'dot.' I am planning on buying this tool and am really curious if it is square, or rectangular.
2) In your assessment, do you think it would be possible to affix a cone-shaped air assist tool that would be co-axial with the laser ray, given that large brass surface at the bottom of the laser head?
I think many of us would greatly appreciate your opinion - thanks much!
1) Close to square, but still rectangle (this effect you can also see in cutting acrylic, it is stronger in Y direction, 1 pass for 3mm acrylic, but in X needs 2 passes).
2) Not sure if I understand 100% the question, but adding air assist is possible, but you can't use the protection cover. If you add magnets to the nozzle, maybe existing magnets on module can be used too.
@@MyTechFun Many thanks for this answer! So we have a pretty solid construction (rigid, two motors for the Y-axis, no motor on the gantry), but the laser is somewhat not ideal. Also, not sure about the laser's longevity - is it going to start showing power loss at 100 Hrs? 1000 Hrs?... A good 5W optical power square-dot laser is probably not much cheaper than this whole machine, e.g., NEJE A30130 is $130-140, but that's (a) square dot, (b) 7.5W, and (c) claimed warranty of 2 Yrs/20,000 Hrs (much better than 100-200 Hrs, anyway).
You are right - the air assist 'bulb' would be attached co-axially directly to the big brass round plate at the laser's mouth. The cover would be removed and likely not used. Magnets could be used to press the 'bulb' to the brass plate though, it may be a good idea if the pressure is maintained low (it can be calculated at what pressure the pulling force of the 4 magnets would be overcome). This could look something like this, just perhaps 3D printed for lightness: live.staticflickr.com/65535/51702864183_f8376b6a07_b.jpg What do you think?
Hey Igor - I went ahead and designed an air nozzle for my laser head.
It sits tightly on the 15-mm lens enclosure and is leveled and kept steady by 4 stainless steel screws self-tapped into the aluminum body.
A short section of a brass tube is friction-fitted into the opening (what you see now is the end of my previous air assist device being the same brass pipe cut, bent and soldered to accommodate the shape of the laser head).
Variable height standoffs keep the main plate at a correct distance.
You can see the pictures at tinyurl.com/yckzmubh
Thanks.
Hi ,do you have this machine firmwre ? can you send me ?
Hi, I bought a Totem S engraver machine in Banggood, threes months ago. I have never been able to use it.
I got everything is connected and installed correctly (I believe).
When I connect the engarver to a USB port of my computer I can see a red cross.
I also open GRBL program, select the right USB Port and 115200 Baudios.
The problem starts when I press the Connection botton. The program always show me the message: "error conecting your engraver".
I can´t find the problem.
Opa amigo, eu passei por isso, é só vc ligar a máquina fazer login no wi-fi dela, e depois vai no programa GRBL e o programa vai indentificar a porta que ela está conectada automaticamente, daí é só conectar
Hi thanks for your feed back , I have CNC machine with the same motherboard , and I'm looking for connect that with wifi but I don't have screen on it , I'm looking for MKS laser tool but I can't find
do you have a link or can you share the software?
thanks
Your shield is on backwards, the gap goes to the rear otherwise why is it there at all
Did u try engraving stainless steel? And if u do how?
I tried, but 10W is better for this. Try to use some black marker on the surface and then engrave. 100 mm/min speed, max power
Did anyone try this laser to engraving on glass ??
what?
My laser isn't as strong as yours... I can't even cut 3 mm in 10 passes... I put it at 1000/100% and I still can't cut it
pls talk slowly...
Thank you sooooo much, your video made it so easy for me to figure out how to use it and I watched plenty of them lol..... I almost gave up and wanted to sell it because I had for a month and couldn't figure it out❤
