Everyday I’m amazed at Papa Moon’s knowledge about the thousands of pieces of the organ, what each dies, where everyone goes, and how to fix broken bits. He must be a whizz at assembling flatpack furniture!

I’m sorry but saying the “old girl had a few air leaks” made me laugh Nick. I’m an old lady and I will not confess to anything like that.🤭 Amazing work by you all. Nick I think is very logically minded and practical, which shows through in how he works and mends things. Michael has this talent too. Billy, I covet your tools. If I had a sander like yours I would have been so much happier. I’m pleased Michael’s talent with his art and fine pictures of Pip have been able to help begin the restoration of the ceiling in the chapel. It will be so grand when it’s all finished. Thank you. If you had asked me a month ago if I would follow the rebuild of an antique organ for weeks I would have said no. But this has been and still is an interesting journey. Much of that is of course due to how Nick and Michael, like Simon before them, are able to explain it all for us. Such a labor of love! I'm sure the previous owners also sit glued to their youtube watching this. ❤❤❤
I dont think I’ve seen Michael so enthusiastic about any project. Truly believe he is living the dream restoring this organ.Hes in his happy place right now.great to see.

I can say I’ll probably never watch another organ rebuild. Only because this is the only one that has been videotaped and has been amazingly interesting.

As a librarian and amateur etymologist I am thrilled to watch the restoration of a 'machine' that has for centuries contributed many phrases to the English lexicon. You are undoubtedly familiar with several: 'pulling out all the stops' and 'great set of pipes' are two that come to mind. Also, 'swelling' sound. The restoration process is incredibly engaging.
It's true that 'every day's a school day' whether it's learning about musical flats one day, or about roman numerals the next day. Between the whole group, you guys are doing a great job of rebuilding the Organ. Great job, everyone!

Everyone watching this will look at organs differently thanks to these guys. It’s amazing what they are doing. Everyday I see them in their coats and think it must be so cold in there.
Your videos are nothing short of spectacular with the organ & kitchen content running 40 min dailies with interesting music, great camera angles, excellent audio balance and they are just plain ole entertaining & teaching all at once. Make sure the shutters on the swell box are left open when the organ is not being played
So that the temperature is the same as the great organ especially with the the Reed stop

I’m so impressed by the creativity of each of the Pethericks. Sadie dedicates herself to caring for horses, Billy can create beautiful restorations, and Michael is an artist and musician. You are all amazing and to be admired. I really enjoy watching all of your collective videos.
Michael is a fabulous cook, not to mention many of his other talents, he's a restorer, makes drapes for the chateau, a woodworker, there is no end to his talents. Love, love Michael along with all the Pethricks and their incredibly talented friends.

Everyday I wait for the progress at the Convent. I watch this grand “Old Girl” preparing for Christmas and the gentlemen repairing her years of wear. Thank you Michael, Nick and and Yannis and Alex (the close ups of the internal working of the organ are awesome and the music inspired). Billy, you stand at the helm with vision and the hallmark of a true leader find the best to do a task and then let them do it. Gather a community and friends that will last a lifetime, this you have done! Thank you again, for ending my day with joy.

The "old girl" may have let off too much air in a few places, but she's absolutely in the mood to rejuvenate herself and get a few minor blemishes corrected 🙂After all, she's surrounded by happy, nice guys who love her show the necessary respect and treat them with love and tenderness. She's getting more and more of her former glory back and I think I can see her smiling a bit too 🙂

As Simon was an excellent and patient teacher ( concerning plaster work and the like ), it seems that Nick ✨( Papa Moon ) ✨ is a master at working out and explaining how things are done on the organ. Of course Billy, Michael, Alex, Ryan and Yanis are equally as talented at all they do and Billy and Michael’s dad is such a trooper! I just love this community that has gathered to help the Petherick’s with their dream to restore the lovely nunnery and chapel. I can’t wait until we can hear Michael playing a Gothic tune on the ole girl, with wee Pip in tow. 🐭🎹🎼🎹🐭
My husband and I watch you religiously. We have been sick for days and there's not much that holds our attention but the organ rebuild has us riveted. Our heads swivel toward each other every time Michael, Nick & or Billy finds the solution to fixing a crack and it works. We look at each other and scream "Genius"!! You all are amazing! With all of Alex's amazing footage, I hope there is a documentary in your future. When Michael introduced Darcy visit from Austin, we sat up and screamed again. If I had only ordered yesterday, we might have had an Austin delivery also! Thank you for all the time we have enjoyed being along with you on this great adventure. It has become a daily fix for me to follow the re-construction of the organ. Really impressed by the team, especially Moon’s knowledge and smooth articulation of what is being done and the problems encountered. Also greatly appreciate Alex’s videography skills. He did it from all sorts of angles and the teamwork involved to capture the difficult tasks. 😊

I am in awe of who designed and built this wonderful organ. It truly is a work of art. When played it's like hearin a whole orchestra, just amazing.

I am really enjoying this series! FYI the flaps on the swell box are referred to as "shutters". The pedal(s) that operate them are referred to as "shoes". On an organ the term "pedal" refers to the wooden foot operated keys.

Billy! If the top of the cabinet counter is going to be used as a food prep area, you made need to fill in the cracks in the top, so that no food will get into them.

Ah, the leather nuts. This is an early form of self locking nuts! You can adjust by finger and do not need spanner’s to lock two nuts against each other. How interesting, we learn something every day.
Love watching how everyone pulls together and learns together. By the time you all finish putting the organ together, it's pretty much going to be a new organ! Will a Christmas tree be put up at the convent?

The canvas cloth is probably calico cloth which fits perfectly with the time the organ was built, calico cloth is readily available and actually may be used on the walls of the chateau as it was popular before wallpaper came along

We went to see Cameron Carpenter several years ago playing the Melbourne town hall organ. The concert was delayed as there were problems with the organ . He came out and shook hands with the audience, chatted and was a complete gentleman. The concert eventually went ahead and as expected he was spectacular. Organs are worth the work! Maintenance is inevitable!

I don't know the exact details, but in recent years York Minster's organ had a complete restoration project. It was a year before it was back in use, possibly longer. I'm sure you could hire yourselves out as a team in future.
