There is no such thing as an ordinary interaction in this offbeat sketch comedy series that features a deep roster of guest stars. - Zábava
The sheer confidence to go for the second flip only speaks to this mans true power.
Actors do multiple takes. I don't think you understand that.
@@OmegaRedFan Wow, over 150 thumbs up before we found someone who does not understand the concept of a joke.
He dabbed preemptively too...
@@OmegaRedFan shutup paul
It was at that moment he truly had to marry his mother in law

I can rewatch this sketch a million times, and I burst out laughing every time I hear that line
@@samanthuel8746 The slight nod when he says it gets me every single time 😂
Me too! Every. Damn. Time.
The old man does have a point. If your steering wheel flies out of your window, thats a problem. People normally don't think of these things.
He's doing the best at this
@@courtneybray3063 even with paul farting
Especially if the car is too small. Then you're toast.
I think it’s a good idea, and I stand behind it
Way ahead of his time, which is really saying something because he's older than time.
The way he says "oh nice" gets me every time.
YES! And I UH STANBYEE
I quote it constantly and no one ever gets it lmao
Oh my god, he admit it!

i think it’s hilarious how the sketch starts with a room full of normal people with 1 weirdo but by the end it’s a room full of weirdos with 1 normal person
Paul? Paul isn't the normal person. He loves his mother in law! who does that
The Gift Receipt sketch had the same structure, but I think this one did it better
Kinda sounds like conspiracy theories
It's kind of a remake of 12 Angry Men...

I love how Paul just keeps saying that he didn’t flinch. And doesn’t dispute the idea that if he did flinch that it means he has to marry his mother-in-law.
yeah well he knew the stakes going in
His first concern doesn't go to how ridiculous it is, but to the fact that he's losing social standing. This shit is heavy.
Yes I love how in this show all adults immediately ascribe to playground rules for everything
Everyone jumps on the crazy train.
Well he’s educated
The old mans acting is nothing short of brilliant.
He was in yogurt commercial many years ago and they were great!
A GREAT steering wheel that does not whiff out of the window while I'm driving!

I live for this sketch. None of of my friends like it/ understand it. They probably love there mother in law.
This is true Roldy, Roldy this is very true!
I’m forcing my friends through sheer repetition. Hopefully it works but I think it’s a good idea and I stand by it.
I understand you. And in a way, I'm kinda your best friend now.
I have played it so many times, my wife is reciting it in my face, but we replace "car" with "......" ideas.
It’s my favourite sketch in years
The actor playing the old man in this is Ruben Rabasa - an experienced veteran actor who has been in tons of stuff since the late 70s. He does normally have an accent, but he's playing it up even more than usual for this sketch. He's fantastic and steals the show of the whole series for good reason - his comic timing is impeccable.
Thank youuuuu 🥰

Well, he's no Roy Donk, but have to admit, he stole the show here.

I think my favorite thing about this show is that more than half of the sketches veer wildly off course from their initial premise due to a surreal changes in social dynamics or circumstances. This skit is a prime example of that part of the show.
The toilet paper birthday party skit was another great example of how quickly the dynamic in the room changes lol
BINGO. It's absolute comic genius. The mood changes often with music, then veers into the most glorious non-sequitur promised land imaginable. Counting the minutes to Season 2.
@@brandongratta9040 my dad introduced me to this show and used that very sketch as an example of "scripts that are too weird to be anything but improv"

The ‘oh nice’ absolutely kills me
Most underrated part of this sketch is the big guy saying “come on, marry your mother in law”
I love how the bottle flip was the deciding factor that makes everybody lose their shit.
"HE LANDED IT AND YOU FLINCHED, YOU HAVE TO MARRY YOUR MOTHER IN LAW!!!!"
dat means.. YOU YOURSELF ADMIT IT YOURSELF THAT YOU SUCK!
I love how the characters turn on each other often in Tims sketches.
I have to practice the bottle flip so I can be prepared for future meetings at work.
“Marry your mother-in-law, come on”
A truly iconic sketch and I like the details they include for the deep lore nerds like how Paul definitely flinches when the bottle gets flipped and he's the only one to do so so it's pretty obvious he loves his mother in law and he himself admit it
Lmfao
It's been over a month now. I'll bet Paul is going to bed every night with his mother-in-law next to him and thinking, "Why, oh why, did I flinch when he landed that bottle?"
Paul's Wife: "Coward."
It’s ok, because Paul Loooooves his mother-in-law
This one got me really, really good. Thank you.
Shoulda cut his losses and admitted he sucks
@@professorhazard Nah, Paul's wife actually said to lay off him
my favorite part of rewatching this skit is seeing that paul did in fact flinch at the first bottle flip

Somewhere there is a guy named Paul who works in automobile design and someone from his office sends him this video cued to 1:59 every day. I bet they get really creative with disguising the link.
Paul Sucks!! His car would probably have a steering wheel that slips out of his hands when driving
Is that what the genius old man was saying? I thought he was talking about a steering wheel that flies out of the car, never to be found again.
Uh no. You got it wrong. I’d be embarrassed and delete that comment.

He probably already married his mother in law and farts in the car next to her.
a great steering wheel that doesn't whiff outta the window
it's ironic that "steering wheel that doesn't fall off" is just about as helpful as "sleek" or "sporty"
Can’t believe Paul admitted to loving his mother-in-law…
And he did it willingly too! No gun to his head or anything. That was truly shocking!
Tesla should've had this old man in their focus group.
"Alright, maybe we should lay off Paul."
(Two seconds later, laughs loudly at joke at Paul's expense)
Makes you wonder what he meant by "lay off"...
The acting of the woman next to Paul is the secret ingredient elevating this sketch
I laughed so hard at 2:23 when Tim yells “Yeah because he landed it and you flinched you have to marry your mother in-law!”
This show is very promising
I truly don't see the humor in this.
@@yessir.7937 yeah, I didn't think it was funny at all, until that very brief moment the OP mentioned, It made me slightly chuckle.

It is so, so funny that Tim plays a normal character in this, but as soon as everyone starts bullying Paul he immediately joins in on being unhinged. "The bottle made you flinch so now you have to marry your mother in law, Paul!!!"

I like how he dabs. It's a good gesture. It should be brought back

but that old actor is the one that makes the sketch
I like to think he’s not even an actor. Just an old man who wandered onto set.
Maybe it's just me, but for me, he's pretty integral to the sketch. But maybe that's... just me.
@@StabbySideways Yeah, he's perfect. Who else could pull that off?
The punchline is that Paul has to marry his mother-in-law.
I agree, that actor, Ruben Rabasa , is on-fire funny in this sketch, and is literally the focus of why it's so funny... But I looked up his other acting work, and since then, I can't help but wonder if his humor here is mostly rooted in his hilarious playing up a flamboyant and kind of clueless immigrant stereotype...? He speaks with the same, thick Cuban accent in all the other scenes I've seen him act in. And looking at the lines he says, there's so much less humor to me without his archetypal and theatrical delivery of stilted English... I love how the whole focus room rallies behind his crazy ideas in the end, but I can't tell if his behavior reinforces a negative stereotype of immigrants, or if it, in fact celebrates them? Is it a bit of both, a celebration and a mockery of flamboyant, clueless immigrants? Is that possible? I just wonder how the director directed his humor, and if they encouraged this stereotype out of him at all...
We all came back after the Tesla Lawsuit lol
Jared Leto in House of Gucci
“Oh my god, he admit it!”
The fact that his facial expression changed with every single "replay" of the final flip is what gets me.
