    Absolutely love the technique. Would love to see with the wax paper as I don't have acetate (yet!) I'm new to your channel and loving it! Thank you so much. This cake is beautiful.

      Thank you! The wax paper is done in the exact same way, only you have to be a lot more careful to get it straight the first time because you can’t move it around after. If you hold both edges taunt, and make sure the bottom is lined up, you’ll be able to get it on and then smooth it in the same way as the video.

    Ever think of putting the wax paper on top, and the acetate underneath? That way you get the smoothness of the wax paper and the support of the acetate.

      That’s a good idea. I’ve actually taken to lightly scraping it with a hot metal bench scraper and as long as it’s not too much, you still keep your design and have the smoothness. But I like your idea too!

    Nice video. Is it possible I smoothing it with my scraper cos it looks abit rough?

    • @IcingOnTopBeckysCakes
      @IcingOnTopBeckysCakes Před 3 lety

      It might blur the marbling if you smoothed it with a scraper. I find it more difficult to make with wax paper instead of acetate but the final result is very smooth.

    So pretty! At the marble with the candy melts didn't the candy melts crystallized? I always have this problem with 🍫 or candy melts :(

      Thank you! No I had no problem with the candy melts crystallizing. Sometimes I have problems with candy melts if they’re old or expired. If you want to check out how I did the candy melt sail, I did it here czcams.com/video/4h2JWI5abTA/video.html

    what kind of buttercream did you use? would a smbc or cream cheese frosting work?

    • @IcingOnTopBeckysCakes
      @IcingOnTopBeckysCakes Před 3 lety

      I haven’t tried it with either of those. I’m guessing that it would work with smbc but I used my favorite vanilla buttercream recipe. Here’s a link to my recipe czcams.com/video/aiutyacPm6k/video.html

    How did you protectthe buttercreamed acetate in the freezer from moisture or dents?
    Did you trim the bottom edge of the acetate after frozen?

    • @IcingOnTopBeckysCakes
      @IcingOnTopBeckysCakes Před 3 lety

      I place mine in a large plastic Tupperware container and put it in my deep freezer. After I peel off the acetate, I trim the buttercream while still frozen with a hot knife.
