Earlier this week I played the Citadel DLC on stream and I was surprised at the number of people in the chat who had not seen the moments I’m about to show you. They asked me questions like is this a mod? How did you get these scenes, etc? So let’s dive into five different scenes you may have overlooked in the Citadel DLC.

Only thing that would have made Wrex's bar scene better is if they had the time to design it so the bar would get damaged every time Wrex headbutted it.
Or a female Krogan coming in, chasing him out of the bar.

The best part of Mass Effect 3 was when joker said his famous line "Its joking time" and joked all over those guys

When I first heard that, it was so unexpected but at the same time in-character and exploiting the airlock meme on fan-fiction level of hilariousness, that I was laughing for several minutes straight and thanking that person in BioWare who had came up with that.
I only found out that scene existed when I did a Javik companion run where I have him come with me in all missions he is available. Usually I have Wrex and the Virmire survivor with me (because I think the scene when the clone throws the other's death in the face of the survivor hits hard) in the vault. Now, on future playthroughs I'll probably have Javik replace the Virmire survivor at least a few times in that area since "Finally!" is slightly better than "I would have saved the other on Virmire" line.
I love Jokers face when Shepard is vouching for his "story" and hes like "oh damn he really going all out for my ass huh?"
Wrex: The spirit is willing, but the flesh is spongy, and bruised.
I always wished Shep's mom would say "I should go" at the end of the call and make it a Shepard family thing
The was Shepard and Wrex look at each other at the bar never gets old LMAO

Shepherd mom call got me in my feels, cause I discovered it not too long after my own mom passed. I geared up and had to step away from the game for a few minutes. I miss my mom. Been over 7 years, but I still miss her

Seth Green had a blast playing this character.
Not many might think it like this but I've noticed that Shepard from ME2 is practically a Super-soldier, if you consider the description of heavy skin, muscle, and bone weave upgrades, plus the N7 training he received prior.
Not many? Its even in game where Shepard asks EDI whether he counts as transhuman and EDI insures him that his mind is still organic. Shepard is kinda a Cyborg that has his mind intact. (He is practically a T800 sort of without having a synthetic mind.)

Shepard's probably about as Strong as a Krogen (given the fact that they headbutt one and it actually hurts the guy)

The Citadel dlc is the perfect fan service dlc I ever played and it was awesome!
Mom: “I have to go."
Shepard: “I know."
That “I know" sounded so sad to me. Maybe that's why Shepard says I “should" go because hearing your mom saying she has to go all the time growing up is hard 🥺
I mean Commander Shepard has said “I have to go” several times, mostly in ME1.
I really hope the BioWare thinks back to what made the original trilogy great with the next game, the citadel dlc being a prime example.
You noticed about half the jokes said in this dlc are "in" jokes? Not a great way to start a new saga
@@212mochaman I was referring to BioWare doing what the fanbase wants, not just forced comedy, that's why Andromeda feels cringe, but the Citadel DLC was awesome.
@@ContraryTrends You cannot make a Citadel in new game. The Citadel DLC only works because we have had three games and hundreds of hours with these characters. If they put similar stuff into the new game with new crew, it'll fall flat on its arse.
@@Lahiss Right and I agree. I wouldn’t want them to force it into the next game as soon as possible, because the fans won’t want that, but just do what the fans want at the right time, that’s my overarching point.
Joker actually invites you. I think the only really hidden scene is interrupting Kasumi's heist.
However, you need have to do a few missioons (side quests, Armax Arsenal Arena etc.) in order to get more invitations to hang up.
My favorite character interaction in the DLC is that of Javik. That dialogue between Blasto, Shepard and him is complete LOL.
The scene with Thane's Ghost would be a nice inclusion to this list as well, it's quite touching.

@@xIcarus227 After the party when Shepard and the squad are standing in front of the Normandy talking about what the hell of a ride it has been, if you romanced Thane he will appear behind Shepard after the squad leave saying how grateful he is that she could fine time to enjoy life with Shepard remorseful that he couldn't be there with her, he then comforts her in that he will always be with her and that she should finish the fight, she then boards the Normandy as he fades away... it's quite a touching moment.

My favorite part of the Citadel DLC is when Joker said "it's jokin time" and joked all over the Cerberus soldiers.
I love the meeting with Mama Shepherd to be just so touching. It's a shame it's only limited to one background but it makes sense lore wise. It's probably my favorite meeting in the DLC and it's a shame so few people seem to know about it.
It just feels weirdly unrealistic for the leader of a flotilla to stop and talk about bedtime stories in the middle of the Reaper war. 😂 Then again, most of Citadel DLC is unrealistic in that way.
I wish they added more to it, like telling her that you love her and you miss her

Military commanders do have time off, assuming their not in the middle of something urgent. Why couldn't they call their child?

Am I the only one happy to see Wrex… He’s up there as top 5 favorite characters when it comes to Mass Effect. 😂😂

That fourth message from Thane is why I will never have the courage to romance him.
It's a romance path doomed to tragedy before you even start, even if you DON'T know what happens in the third game. I love Thane as a character, just not as a romance option.

After I exhaust all the marked squadmates, I stop looking. And apparently missed some things because of it.
@@MikefromTexas1 Well, I was walking around the place to find things like the Turian raving about Tech armor, infiltrator and Vorcha conversation etc. in order to get most out of the DLC. I tried all the game in the casino etc.
Wow, somehow, no matter how many times I've already played the "Shepard's Clone" (that's what I always think of it as) end to end, I never encountered the "Katsumi's Oceans 11 Heist" sub-play before I viewed your video. THANK YOU, Big Dan, for making me aware that the opportunity even existed.
After so many damn play throughs I thought I had seen it all. How did I miss that amazing joker scene?? The rest I saw. Guess it's time for a seventh play through!
I feel so 'Woot' because I've hit all of these!!! Thane's 4th message was heartbreaking enough....but his final scene with you at the end of the Citadel dlc was even better.

So Dan are you going to cover the Samara romance? It’s a pretty touching scene in citadel and I haven’t seen you acknowledge it.

Joker’s bar scene is my favorite too, I could totally imagine him in an atlas 😂
This DLC in itself is so close to my heart. But one of the best parts is when Joker said, "It's joking time" and joked over all those Cerberus guys.
The bar scenes are just hilarious.
So is Zaeed swearing revenge on the creator of a kid's carnival game :D
Kasumi becoming Robin Hood came out of nowhere.
Also my mum died on Mindoir making a last stand & Thane was crushed by rubble inside the Collector base :/
Zaeed and the claw game is one of my favorite NPC moments in Citadel.

@@janeshepard9549 😂 I wrote the entire interaction into _The War Room_ because it leads in to my Shepard asking him to take on the Blue Suns again, and I loved getting to write her thoughts as he basically has a tantrum, especially given what she did the night before. Hysterical, the whole thing. 🤣🤣
Just when I though I've seen all this trilogy has to offer, I get proven wrong. That Joker scene is outstanding. God I love Mass Effect.
I didn't even know the citadel dlc existed until I played the legendary edition, I moved on from ME3 before that dlc came out the first time around. So I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled into the dlc I missed.
The Fanservice DLC that was the last thing made for ME3. Also features the final work of Robin Sachs, voice of Zaeed. After he passed away, one of the Multiplayer Special Event weekends was a Zaeed Tribute, requiring the playerbase to rack up a certain number of points in Multiplayer matches using the M8 Avenger and Inferno Grenades.
They expected the goal to take all weekend to hit. It took four hours.
I wish we'd gotten a scene of Shepard pulling some strings and getting their mom some down time to come visit in person during the Citadel DLC. Could've easily made some system to mold her face to resemble whatever yours is since she's your mother.

It would have been funny to the reactions of Mass Effect 2 exclusive squadmates during Citadel's storyline.
Wrex's bar scene reminded me of a fun fact. Did you know... when lionesses are in heat, they do it 20-40 times a day. And if the lions couldn't keep up, the lionesses get angry and may even bite their testicles in frustration.

So in my recent playthrough I sabotaged the genophage cure, then did the Citadel dlc before Rannoch. Wrex was still alive but he did not appear during the dlc; not to take down the shuttle, to raid the archives, not at the party, or even as a combat partner in the Armax arena. But Grunt was there and fine so obviously the krogan hadn’t completely abandoned me (although Grunt still came to Earth at the end of the game with almost no other krogan assets)
I've played this game a dozen times, including 3 times Legendary edition, and 4 out of 5 I have never seen (I always find the Kasumi Gotto scene and I'm never a spacer)

I like to imagine that Wrex's "bathroom window" is a pretty new installation, more specifically, a suspiciously Wrex shaped hole in a solid wall.
wow...all the times I played and have never seen the joker bar scene...thank you.
Citadel DLC was a love letter to the entire series, such a nice treat from Bioware for the people who followed the series since the beginning.
Also loved the vault scenes where you found out more about the first contact war and other pivtol events in the game universes history.
I legit never knew about the cutscenes outside of the invites. I always save doing the Citadel right before Assault on Cerberus as a final ending. The calm before the storm.
Oh, there's one more easily missable thing in the DLC. After you wake up, next to your bed on the floor there's a Datapad from Mordin, where he talks about his stay on Omega. It feels a bit odd hearing it (it's not his usual speech pattern), but it has quite a funny ending to it.
I knew i loved this games i haven't even finished the original 3 but 1 and 2 and God i missed a lot hopefully i can get some of this if not all to pop up awesome video!

The others were fun, but honestly, the part shepherd says "hi mom" is still the most humanizing moment in the entire series for me.
No better reminder that there's still someon made of flesh and emotions under all that ass-kicking🙃!

If the entirety of the series was written like this DLC it would have had a massive cultural impact above what short impact it had. Such good comedy alongside the serious moments still standing on their own.

Only one of these I haven't seen/found myself is the Thane's fourth message scene since I've never romanced him in any playthrough nor anyone else really besides Liara so you learn something new about the Mass Effect series all the time it seems 👍

I love them all, sadly though in my latest playthrough the kasumi hanar diplomat mission bugged and I couldn't get her to come to the casino. :( and since I was playing EGM, I had a big fat reaper covering the Hanar's home system in red light to remind me. A bright patch though was getting a mod in which Tali discovers how much of a gamer Legion was, and makes a tribute VI and bot of him, so that it's as if Legion's ghost is playing with you in the arena.
Here again, no replies no likes. I guarantee you domt have any friends and most definitely definitely definitely definitely definitely definitely don't have a gf.

Wrex's bar scene is the only one I didn't get to see, every time I tried to activate it I would get an infinite loading screen and had to restart the game. I was too lazy to try and figure out what was causing it so thank you for this 🙌

Could you do a video for these two species: the Raloi and the Virtual Aliens. I feel that as much as they were only mentioned but didn't appear anywhere, their story arc would have been more interesting, most especially for the Virtual Aliens
Something people forgot about is the multiplayer characters are around talking about the shenanigans we used to do all the time.
The vorchas in the Armax arena is supposed to be the playable vorchas from multiplayer?
I missed some of the scenes cause I didn't realize that it was an invite up button thought it was the same one that you have on your ship
Was epic to add "joker's bar scene" in game, I like to choose "Joker telling the Truth about He fight in Citadel" because the first time when in ME1 he saved us from Volcano, The Second Shooting Collectors in End.
He’s also the only crewmate who avoided abduction from the collectors

I didn’t know about Shepard’s mom being a voiced character until I saw a clip of the Citadel call. I always pick Spacer now. The Zabaleta side quest isn’t my favorite, but the conversations Shep gets to have with Mom in ME1 and 3 make up for it.
