To clarify! Minecraft Mods are amazing, people just heavily underestimate the power that datapacks have these days!
In this video I show off 30 datapack, command and general creations made by the minecraft community! From entire games being recreated with commands, to some pretty cool update features added into Minecraft 1.20 snapshots, and even a few funny datapacks and memes laong the way!

Suspicious sand is real, but he made so he can put his own item inside of the sand
yeah, I saw the cherry wood and thats the 1.20 sand, he just made it so when you drop an item it pops into the sand
The different pitches datapack is so awesome. Carol of the bells is already a great song, but hearing it being played in Minecraft is just so much better.

the chair @ 4:16 having a health bar is hilarious.
That's because it's pretty much a remodeled horse. Or any other entity that can be mounted
the suspicious sand is real and official but he made it so you can put items in normal sand to make it suspicious sand containing the item you dropped.
I personally think From The Fog should at least have an honorable mention, it took that lingering feeling of being watched and made that a reality, it's also getting updates where the people watching you can walk behind trees and disappear, place signs, turn your torches into redstone pr just destroy them altogether and so much more.
It's even more impressive when you have a grasp on how difficult making some of these are
Mostly useless for consoles
Most of these aren't that difficult to replicate anyways; they just require a considerate amount of time.

3:25 i love light blocks being added to java from bedrock cuz i used to use light blocks alot but when i switched they didnt have em until they did
i made a flashlight like that but i made it like the closer it is the brighter it is
light blocks have always been a thing, they were just not in the creative menu and only obtainable with the command "/give @p light"
from the fog looks amazing. i haven't tried it out yet, but i watched someone play with it. it feels so natural with the lore of herobrine. i personally would prefer the standard skin (which looks to be configurable) but oh my god it looks fun. it seems fun to add some extra things to make it slightly spookier.
It is by far the best and most accurate portrayal of Herobrine you will find. No corny signs or messages in chat, no boss fights, just the occasional figure in your peripheral vision, and the subtle feeling that something isn't right.

So glad the server is back! I remember playing on an old version of it, and then one day it just closed.
Also, the flashlight data pack was made by Doctor4t, with their phasmaphobia map
doctor4t used shaders to make his flashlight
@@niclan051 in fact, that flashlight does not use shaders. It uses light blocks instead; on bedrock edition, i made a working lantern that can be put in your offhand with the same exact system. It's entirely vanilla

2) doctor4t says in his video that he used shaders for his flashlight

@@kafiaahmed469 Actually I dont agree. While yes they are more limited they have thier strong sties like the fact that they run purely on minecraft so you dont have to install 3rd party software also you can just join a server that has datapacks and all will work perfectly

Personally i love the villagers, herobrine, birds and vehicles. However i would not agree that the rest are better than mods, dont get me wrong they are AMAZINGLY done but datapacks have thier limitations that make them in my opinion a step behind from mods.
Your server should be called "Daily dose of survival" or "Daily dose of creative"

since when can you add custom dimensions with datapcks and custom blocks with GUI's? or custom blocks included in the worldgen and custom items (with working recipes)?
(by custom item i mean not just like a modified vanilla item, and custom block means not just a vanilla block with a mechanic attached to it globally)
well you said datapacks are better than mods basically (in the title and in the video) so i assume all of these things can be done with datapacks as well if datapacks are so much better

datapacks will never put mods to shame lol, they are just bound to so much, and the bossfight you say seems mojang added is all but looking made by mojang, with all that clunky movement and high usage of sparkle particles since they cant do custom textures / better effects, and for how much i appriciate this kind of content you can never say they are better then mods, its just not, the torch you say could not be done better, works only because shaders are making it look cool and is very lagging looking, you could do much better.

Data packs are not commands they're hybrid resource packs, I wish ppl would label the videos correctly. Where's the one block commands with command blocks? Actual command codes!
