    I'm writing this from my hotel room in Nyaung Shwe, where I'm sitting out this plandemic. Myanmar is a beautiful country, with proud, honest and humble people. It's been a pleasure to stay here, maybe the safest place in the world right now. Spent a week in Yangon too; Shwendagon pagoda is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Nothing but praise for Myanmar.

    Good to see footage of Rangoon where my late father was born and grew up till the 2nd world war. He joined the Burma Auxiliary Force and penetrated deep into enemy territory ( Japanese army). My father was Indian but could speak Burmese. I am visiting Myanmar in February next year to see for myself this beautiful country.

      Ranjit Tyagi I would not entirely agree that Yangon is no longer home to Indians. To this day, the presence of the Indians are easily recognisable. Certain elements revealed that the locals and Indians mingled to become the present civilians in Yangon as the people in Yangon carried on the darker skin (dark brownish) skin pigments more so than the rest of the country. The food in the Yangon also resembled much of Indian cuisine compared to the various states in Myanmar. As someone presently residing in Mandalay, I would counter the fact that much of Indian heritage remain to this very day

      @@oaksoeaung2062 What you say is true, not just Myanmar I think the precolonial Indian influence right across SE Asia is still very evident. Culturally all of SE Asia is essentially a cultural continuum between India and China. Most Indians have assimilated into the native cultures and do not stand out as foreign.
      However colonial settlement of Indians notably the Rohingya have failed to assimilate because of support from Ottoman and Indian muslims.
      Curiously enough Indian states of Nagaland and Mizoram are culturally less Indian than most other places in SE Asia with the exception of Phillipines.

      Linn Htet maw I get it. I’m a girl who’s all about dazzle dazzle mixed with minimal. Like Seoul fashion or Japanese Fashion. And brands like Channel, Gucci and UNIQLO. Not Forever 21 though, I have never trusted it. But I did wear it a lot as a kid. My mum was a huge fan so she brought a lot for me. Even though u like Razzle Dazzle, I do miss the classic look sometimes. But most of the times, they look so uneven and kinda... just not clear to my eyes. I love our traditional clothes though, especially the ones from the Kaungboaung(can’t spell) and Bagan Dynasties. And the ones from the 50s.
      But even though I love all of these and yearn to wear them, I always end up wearing Harley Davidson, and or, a plain t-shirt I Fleur at the market and some adidas shorts and crocs. I’m fashionable but not fashionable.

    • @linnhmaw
      @linnhmaw Před 4 lety +1

      fruity melonade i like how the girls are wearing alot more fashionably. Maybe a little korean influenced but hey they looking good...yes but When you go to like new york, people dont wear hats and ties with suites much like in the classical era either. So tshirts have become the new norm???. I guess its kinda like a global shift...designers like andy warhole and keith herring might have had a hand in these kinda revolutions. I dont know just whats in my head.
