      Ngl counting calories is impossible. I've studied this and work in the fields of culinary, nutrition, and disease for over a decade. It is next to impossible to know how many calories one eats because of how food preparation alters the numbers. When evaluating people these things were common:
      -Too many carbs and sugar.
      - very little vegetable and green intake.
      - Too much snacking throughout the day( again usually foods high in sugar or carbs like chips and candy.)
      - People eating way more than needed
      What counting calories does is It makes ppl panick and eat less which leads to weight loss sure, but much unhealthier bodies. I've seen this in thousands of clients.

    “I’ve tried everything…” Have you made sure you’re under cals without any doubt at all and eaten at least your goal weight in protein? “No.” Well… I’ve had this conversation with literally hundreds of clients at a PT over the years. People are clueless.

      Calories are a unit of measurement we came up with to denote energy. They are equal. That’s like saying time on your watch and time on your microwave are different. If they’re set up accurately they’ll be the same. Now if what you’re trying to say is it’s easier and better to get calories and nutrients from Whole Foods than from sugary foods fair enough.

    Gram to gram and a half of high quality protein per dry body weight. That’s the minimum for adding muscle, obviously the more the merrier for your muscles, esp after a tough lift

    It’s not realistic for casual people. Just put less in your plate, eat slower. Listen to your stomach and when it’s full stop. When you’re hungry determine if it’s coming from your gut or your mind. When your stomach is making a racket, eat. Slow and stop. Then make sure you cut sugars and eat whole foods. Exercise. otherwise you’ll be counting calories and giving up in a few months.

    Shorter people always say they don't eat that much but then put away the same amount of food as a person 2ft taller than them and don't understand why they gain weight. We all drive on the same roads but you wouldn't put 30 gals of fuel in a subaru impreza just because the dude next to you put 30 gals in his f250, ya feel?

    I'm 16 and I've always been super skinny. I've been trying to bulk for the past 8 months and I've maybe put on 20 lbs. I eat around 5k calories and 100 g of protein a day. Does anyone have any tips for me to start actually gaining weight.
