Ppl who are addicted will make all kinds of excuses to convince others and especially themselves. Doesn't always need to be an addiction or that might just depend on how you define addiction
Ngl counting calories is impossible. I've studied this and work in the fields of culinary, nutrition, and disease for over a decade. It is next to impossible to know how many calories one eats because of how food preparation alters the numbers. When evaluating people these things were common:
-Too many carbs and sugar.
- very little vegetable and green intake.
- Too much snacking throughout the day( again usually foods high in sugar or carbs like chips and candy.)
- People eating way more than needed
What counting calories does is It makes ppl panick and eat less which leads to weight loss sure, but much unhealthier bodies. I've seen this in thousands of clients.

Calories are a unit of measurement we came up with to denote energy. They are equal. That’s like saying time on your watch and time on your microwave are different. If they’re set up accurately they’ll be the same. Now if what you’re trying to say is it’s easier and better to get calories and nutrients from Whole Foods than from sugary foods fair enough.

It’s not realistic for casual people. Just put less in your plate, eat slower. Listen to your stomach and when it’s full stop. When you’re hungry determine if it’s coming from your gut or your mind. When your stomach is making a racket, eat. Slow and stop. Then make sure you cut sugars and eat whole foods. Exercise. otherwise you’ll be counting calories and giving up in a few months.
