Scotty Doesn’t Know actually became really popular and went pretty far on the billboard top 100. To this day it still randomly pops into my head all the time.
I had it on my mp3 for years.
I went to a bar with a live band with some friends a few years back and the band played the song. Probably one of the few times I actually went to the dance floor. 😂

Underrated classic. Deserves much more attention from reactors, or more attention in general. Saw this in theaters on a whim. I knew of Michelle Trachtenberg from being a child star on Nickelodeon. Everyone else was new to me at the time.
I knew Lucy Lawless (xena warrior princess), Matt Damon, Vinnie Jones and Fred Armisen. I just didnt know any of the main crew.
She was also in the movie Inspector Gadget.

I heard he knew the crew and took time off from another project to film that cameo. Didn't mean to ignore that. Don't believe I came across Vinnie in other roles until after seeing this. There's also Jeffrey Tambor who I saw later in The Hangover trilogy.

Aside from TAOPAP and Harriet the Spy, the first Black Christmas remake and Mysterious Skin are the other things I've seen her in. If you don't know what MS is, please DON'T look into it. One of the 15 most disturbing films I've ever seen.

Scotty Doesn't Know is still one of the greatest songs ever created. I still listen to it on my playlist to this day.
Also, it's such an underrated movie. For those who watched it back in the day will never forget that Scotty doesn't know. I loved his friend getting a promotion after being MIA the whole internship.

This movie has been shot mostly in Czechia, including the "Bratislava" (they used some deserted village in the middle of nowhere), most of the cast as well. Luckily, Matt Damon was shooting another movie in Czechia at the time - so he joined this one for fun. Btw: I lived in Bratislava (Slovakia) 1993-2011 and when I was having people from abroad to travel to Bratislava for a training, I asked them to watch THIS movie - so they knew "what to expect"

This and "Road Trip" are both fantastic comedies. If you haven't seen "Road Trip" I highly recommend it. Two of my favourite comedies from the early 2000s.

EuroTrip was filmed entirely in Prague with superimposed Big Ben, Eiffel Tower and other landmarks. Matt Damon was filming ‘The Brothers Grimm’ with Heath Ledger in Prague at the time and used one of his ‘day-offs’ to film his cameo in this film.
We talk about how great a friend Cooper is, but really Jamie is Scotty's best friend. Dude sold his brand new fancy camera and threw away his goals for his summer vacation so that Scotty could chase down his internet girlfriend. THAT is a true friend...

I can't believe Burt was just a German kid they hired for the movie. He has incredible comedic timing.

Structurally this movie is really well written. It’s a great 2000’s comedy too, but structurally it’s perfect. The Hooligans coming back, the gender confusion on the name Mike coming back, even the international remix of Scotty Doesn’t Know, moments and characters come back around and pay off throughout the movie.

legendary movie. Literally the film of my generation - a millennial Ohio 2004 graduate, this came out about 15 weeks before graduation. Absolutely hilarious and imo better follow up to Road Trip.

Can't see it mentioned but those guys on the nude beach were actual beach goers, the director hired them for the scene since it was easier than getting actors in, it was said they were rather surprised when they got paid for their part too.

What I love about this movie is the irony surrounding the soccer hooligans; if Scott and Cooper had just stuck with them, they would've eventually ended up in the exact same spot at the exact same moment as Mieke, entirely by coincidence.

I got so excited when I saw that you guys were reviewing this movie!! I remember first seeing this back in high school when a student in my art class told me about the hash brownie scene and I thought it was so funny and he lent me his “burnt”copy of the movie. I was studying abroad in Europe when this movie came out and I saw it for the first time. it was an incredible experience to see this movie while living there and seeing some of the places that they visited in the movie. it's been 20 years and I still laugh as hard as I did the first time I saw it. 😂
