    Very cute, Daz! Lovely "cactus cake" at the beginning of the video😍. But poor little ones of the end, slow growers also deserve a chance...😁. I couldn't have let them out of the group, 😅. I have that problem, can't reject no piece of plant and I end with my garden full of Kalanchoes, Crassula, Sedum, Aloes and Yuccas. Don't know what is going to happen when I will plant my new cactus seeds (the packet says 200 seeds 🥺),🤣. With that overbooking of cactus you can discard three. Thanks for sharing and regards to you and Edith from Spain.🤗

      Haha thank you, Vanesa 😊 Yeah it was shame to discard some, they probably wouldn’t have made though and I have more than I know what do to with 😂 Was a good germination rate on these but it’s a good idea not to sow too many seeds in one pot otherwise this happens! Good luck with your 200, that’s a lot lol. Thank you for watching and commenting, from Edith & myself, have a wonderful weekend ☀️🌵🌼🌺🌸🏜

      Thank you, Clyde 😊 Yeah I think it was pretty close to a 100% germination rate. I’ve got a few other pots of seedlings that are very cramped as well but they’re still a bit small to work with, these were fiddly enough haha. Over 100? But I sent you 500! 😜😁Lol! But very good germinating them. And very patient of you handling them. I stop sowing usually at 30 seeds. Hahaha.

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  Před 4 lety +2

      Haha Ana 😂 I won’t be sowing as many in a pot again incase the germination rate is high. Some of the others from you that germinated are pretty tight in the pots as well so I’ll have this to do again soon! Awwwww these little cuties are ADORABLE Daz :-D and they look FANTASTIC all potted up into the bigger pots, its a time consuming but fun task to pot them up, the separation of them all is always the hardest I find haha, Thank you so much for sharing this FANTASTIC video of transplanting your Parodia ottonis cuties, and Hans and I are sending you and beautiful Edith lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to England and Singapore for a super Saturday and weekend ahead XXXX

      @Cactimania  Před 4 lety +2

      Thank you so much Lyn 😊 Yeah it took a good while to separate all these and pot them up, ideally I would have liked to leave them longer before repotting but they were so cramped in the pot their growth was becoming restricted. I’ll know now not to sow too many seeds in one pot incase the germination rate is high lol. Thank you so much again Lyn, from Edith & myself to you and Hans, have a wonderful weekend ❤️🌵☀️🌺🌼🌸🏜

    I seriously admire your patience and perseverance in this task, Sweetheart! 🥰 More than 100 seedlings?! 😱 I could only say, “Whoa!”, when you showed the green tray full of seedlings and 5 pots full of seedlings at the end. i can only imagine how tedious and painstaking this repotting was with your large hands and fingers and those super tiny seedlings. 😫 Kudos to the effort, My Love! ❤️ the video turned awesome, as always. Clear and concise. Thank you for sharing with us. ❤️🤗🥰😘♾❤️

    Must have been over a hundred potted on,
    So we'll done.i was going to ask about feed
    As you was giving feed to the last couple
    Of repots, then I noticed some feed on
    Top of one of the pots.i do wonder if
    You have repotted again ,and did
    Many survive?
    Also did you pot on at a specific
    Time of the year, spring
    Perhaps, well done as
    Always, Bill.

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you 😊 The majority of them are alive and growing well. Some did get attacked by spider mites unfortunately. I mostly repot in the spring/summer, but if you’re growing under grow lights or in a grow tent and the plants are young then they can be repotted anytime. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌸🌺🏜

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  Před 2 lety +1

      In this video I used John Innes no.2 compost, horticultural grit, pumice and lava rock. I don’t use the horticultural grit anymore, I’ve swapped that out for kyodama. I’m pretty sure you can find similar containers on Amazon, if not the next best place would eBay/Etsy. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌼🏜

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  Před 2 lety +1

      @@jimspencer5746 Very similar. If I had to choose between the two though I’d choose pumice as it’s less dense than lava rock and drys out faster, but I find using both of them together in a soil mix works very well 👍🏻🌵☀️🌺🏜

      @@Cactimania hopefully this is my last question.
      . So in your mix for baby baby seedlings, you don't use any dirt at all? ( No cactus dirt mix/top soil etc).. Just making sure..

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  Před 2 lety

      @@jimspencer5746 My seed sowing mix is different, it’s the John Innes compost again but with added vermiculite and moler clay. They’ll stay in that mix for around six months before going into the compost/pumice/lava rock mix. I’ve got a bunch of seed sowing and seedling transplanting videos on the channel. No worries about asking questions, happy to answer 👍🏻🌵☀️🌼🏜
