  • Demo filmed at Ally Pally, April 2019 - Tracey Lavinia from Lavinia Stamps shows us a lot of techniques for a one card style with different finishes. We can see 2 finishes (card 2 - fairy in the branch, and card 1- flying fairy) in this video using those techniques and different colours of brushos, dye inks and stamps.
    I recorded first Card 1, but since I missed the first steps (first couple of minutes), I show you first the completed demo (card 2) and then I add at the end the first card she did (card 1), that although is missing the brayering part, you can see a different finish with same techniques.
    You can find all supplies used in the following links:
    Starter kit with the basic tools and materials (as part of that kit 2 Lavinia stamps of your choice are included for free, it seems great if you love this card and you don't have any of the tools, a great starting point): laviniastamps....
    Stamps used in the video:
    CARD 2 (first card with the fairy in the branch)
    Fairy: laviniastamps....
    Tree branch: laviniastamps....
    Wild vines: laviniastamps....
    CARD 1 (second card in the video, flying fairy)
    Fairy: laviniastamps....
    Plants - foxglove: laviniastamps....
    Plants - wildflower: laviniastamps....
    Words: laviniastamps....
    DISCLAIMER: I haven't been paid to record or to post any links, this video is not sponsored, Tracey generously explained the techniques and was happy for me to share these in my youtube channel. These links are not affiliated, adding them for information so you can get the supplies if you want to. Enjoy it! :) At my end I'm looking forward to try the technique, so I may vary some supplies (using infusions instead of brushos and using other brand of dye inks, maybe the distress range) and see what I get!

    I should not have watched this video, because I LOVE what you created SO much I have spent over $200 buying Brusho pigments, the gelli pad, pigment, dye, and hybrid inks pads, clear stamps, stencils, things to make a stamping tool, acrylic blocks, a Brayer, cards, watercolor paper, blending sponges, watercolor and silver pens. I sincerely hope my cards turn out at least half as good as yours. These are my Christmas and birthday presents to myself.

      Hola Trini!
      czcams.com/video/eR1F7YJEVwc/video.html
      Y para ver una comparativa de los dos polvos que te he hablado (Brusho vs Infusions), te paso uno de los pocos vídeos que he hecho tanto en castellano como en inglés (ahora ya solo los hago en inglés, porque no me da la tiempo a hacerlo en los dos idiomas...):

    What’s the difference between the color box inks and the versafine Claire inks? Thank you

    • @scrapcosy
      @scrapcosy  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi! 2 main differences:
      Color box used here are a dye ink: water based, therefore water reactive and translucent (no particular use of translucency in this project, but so you know)
      Versafine claire, on the other side are pigment inks: they are opaque (again not much relevant here) and they are oil based and therefore waterproof (important feature if after stamping you want to work with more water or with a water based product)
      I hope that helps. :)

    • @scrapcosy
      @scrapcosy  Před 4 lety +1

      Oh, and colorbox should dry much quicker than versafine, so you could use versafine to emboss (they stay wet for longer) while colorbox may be already dried when you attempt an embossing, so not very useful for that...

    Where can you purchase “smoothies?” I’ve been looking for them. Thank you

    • @scrapcosy
      @scrapcosy  Před 4 lety

      Hi Beth, do you mean the paper I use in other videos? Or do you mean something Tracey Lavinia used? If you mean the "smoothy" paper I use, these are only sold by PaperArtsy and probably some of the shops they stock to (normally these shops prefer to stock PaperArtsy stamps, stencils and paints, I have no clue which ones stock their paper as well), so the only links I can provide are the ones to PaperArtsy shop, since I don't know anyone else selling them. There is a regular and a heavy one and when I share a video I try to include the link in the video description if I use it, although I may have forgotten to do it in all... Here are the 2 links:
      shop.paperartsy.co.uk/smoothy-regular-a4-white-stamping-card-pkt-10-3455-p.asp
      shop.paperartsy.co.uk/smoothy-heavyweight-a4-white-stamping-card-pkt-10-4209-p.asp
