Absolutely stunning! But I’m curious, when you moved the stencil to the other side of the cake, how did that blank sheet not stick to the previous stencil? Gel doesn’t dry

Thank you for your comment! We made this video before we developed our Metallic Gold Royal Icing Mix, so at this time, I would recommend using that for mesh stenciling. It is a beautiful, sparkly gold and you just add water to the mix, no alcohol needed!
Unfortunately, the fabric backer of the Mesh Stencil is too fine to allow airbrushing to go through. Royal Icing or this piping gel/metallic powder/vodka combination are the most reliable media!

That is definitely something we haven't tried. I would be worried the icing would be way too soft and would stick to the stencil. I'm not sure if freezing the cake could help? It would be experimental to try it!
When we use our Metallic Powders for Mesh Stenciling, we usually use these ratios: 1/2 tsp powder, 1 tsp vodka, and about 1 tbsp clear piping gel. Be sure to mix the powder and vodka before adding the piping gel, this will help keep the powder super shiny! Of course, you should test this out before using it. If it needs to be a little thicker, add another dollop of piping gel. If it’s not shiny enough, mix a little more powder and vodka and add to the mixture.
@@robinmartin9223 please what can be used to replace the piping gel if not available in one's country. Also, aside metallic gold, can regular paste colours be diluted with vodka and used to get other colors on a cake. Thank you

Absolutely stunning! But I’m curious, when you moved the stencil to the other side of the cake, how did that blank sheet not stick to the previous stencil? Gel doesn’t dry
Very little of the mixture is left on the cake, and it does dry in about an hour or so!
Thank you for the question and answer cause I was thinking the same.
Great! Does it work on cookies?
Yes! We use Mesh Stencils on cookies frosted with Royal Icing.

How long does it take to dry so that you can do the other side without smudges?
Maybe 30 minutes or so. Depends on humidity. If you have any specific questions, please email us at support@evilcakegenius.com Thanks!

Which liquid you add after gold powder
Gold powder with vodka added, then piping gel added to that.
How much gold powder and piping gel should I use?
