horizontal is a must the only products i make money on are the horizontal videos

interesting I only post vertically and make money on them. 🤔
I did my first three videos in vertical. then my first 100 in vertical. now I do what the product needs. If it's a long and skinny something that shows better vertical or if I need more space horizontal. I don't see a difference. :) But am going to start honing in on thumbnails and better titles, although if you make videos for brands, they want their "own" title most of the time.

I am horrible at social media. Especially with picking anything to get engagement. I've attempted for years with different accounts and niches and as many tutorials and types of advice I follow, somehow I can never make it work.
I am so envious of you and others I see making real money with this program. You are amazing.
It’s understandable that you’re discouraged but if it’s something you want, don’t give up yet! You can do it! Or maybe partner with someone who can help you. I always find a good partner is great for business and for being held accountable. You got this!

Keep up that hope bc I’m betting you’ll get in soon! Try posting daily on TikTok for the next 2-3 weeks and then promoting a video or two to get extra visible. Then re-apply. That formula has been successful for quite a few of my students lately. Good luck! 👍

I got approved immediately with my CZcams channel. I don’t have many followers but I have a lot of engagement. I’m watching the video but have a question. Can I use the video I make for Amazon and use it on a different platform?

Hey there. This is very helpful. If I wanted to start a CZcams channel to be another place where people could view my videos (don’t want to put them on my main channel as it’s not relevant, do I have to have that channel approved with Amazon before I can add links to the CZcams description? Hope that makes sense!
You would just have to add the CZcams url link to your channel in the list of websites you're promoting Amazon's links on. It's accessible through your settings when logged in to Amazon Associates. Hope that helps!
HI Kathleen! I just started my CZcams Channel a week ago (along with a business Instagram and Business Pinterest). Eeek, I only have like 5 followers though. I have thrown myself into creating content (pretty good content for a beginner in my humble opinion ;)) I'm hoping that if I just stay consistent and post quality content my followers will grow? But how do I get to even the entry level amazon associates level without followers? All the videos I watch always start at the influencer/storefront level. But How does one get there if they are without followers? I would love your advice.
hi! i'm confused how to submit vertical for the Inspire page? there is no specific section and if we should just do horizontal for best views why should we do vertical? But the inspire page is vertical but there's no way to find it???? help!
Amazon determines placement of the videos once you upload BUT your best bet to get on Inspire is to model the videos you see on there - short form, vertical videos that highlight a series of useful products.
Hi Kathleen, thank you for sharing your knowledge on this topic. I only have two questions: 1. Do you have to show your face in the 3 videos you must submit? 2. Is it true that if a friend of a friend buys from your store, even if you have no idea about it, you will get removed from the program? If this is true, do we need to tell our friends not to buy from our store? I find this a bit challenging because some of our followers are also friends or people who personally know us and probably would only prefer to buy from us as opposed to someone else, but is that going against the rules? Thanks. :-)
Thank you for watching and for your kind words! To answer your questions: 1. No, you do not need to have your face in the first 3 videos. I've had students in my course get theirs accepted both with and without using their face in the videos. 2. No, you won't necessarily get removed from the program because you can't control if people are using your link. Just don't openly try to get friends and family to purchase from you and I think you'll be ok. I've clicked my own storefront link and purchased things not realizing my affiliate cookie window is still live and while the orders show up in my amazon reporting, I've never been in trouble because of it. It's an honest mistake and I think Amazon accounts for that as I've obviously never received commission on anything I've purchased through my own links.
Woow that are great informations. Thank you Kathleen. I read mostly the same social plattforms for aproval. But what is with Twitter/X? Is that a Plattform that is ok for Amazon?
Amazon doesn’t give twitter as an option so you have to use one of the 4 they accept when applying for the program.
So glad I stumbled on this today! I'm actively filming my 3 videos for on-site and I only technically have 2 attempts (long story, it boils down to not realizing my first attempt needed to be intentional or were being reviewed for approval!) I clicked through to your storefront and it looks like you are one of the few Influencers I was following on Amazon already so I will definitely be subscribing and following in your footsteps! :) If I scroll down to your oldest videos, would those be the 3 that you were accepted with? Looks like it would be a picture frame, water bottles and the Cravebox.
Do you think finding products with 1-5 videos is a must-have to get onsite approval, or is it just your recommendation because once approved, your videos will actually go somewhere and you can start earning faster? (I'm not worried about this part, so just wondering if I should change my items.)
It’s definitely not a must have with the video count…that will help you earn more quickly but it’s best to use products you already use and love in your first 3 videos. Good luck!
What is the difference between posting pictures and idea lists? Isn’t the pictures linked in your idea lists? Confused by this. And is that then a shoppable photo (in your idea list)?
Idea lists are compilations of products you recommend. Photos are your shoppable photos that you upload, customers can click on, view and then purchase from. You're posting a photo but curating an ideal list filled with recommended products. Hope that helps!
Hi Kathleen! Great info!!! Absolutely fabulous. One question in this video at about 44:32 you talk about 3 criteria (does it have between 1-5 videos already, 4.3 rating or above and over 100 product reviews)... I understand the 4.3 rating or above...the other two I'm not 100%. Do you mean that there are already between 1-5 product review videos for that product? Or do you mean there are already over 100 videos reviewing the product already? But I don't what you mean by over 100 product reviews? Those 2 things I'm confused what you mean? Thanks!!!

Glad to hear it! People interchange video reviews and shoppable videos but they are separate and totally different. Glad the video explained it, though!
I started a while ago and didn't realize how vital my first 3 videos is there any way to reapply for the onsight commissions?
You can reapply but you need to apply with a different Amazon account and different socials. Those first 3 videos are the hardest part!

Of course! I created a tracking spreadsheet that I use that contains a list of my top performing products, when they were last checked on to see if they’re still on the product listing pages and then I will make a minor edit sometimes if one has fallen off completely. I am also constantly adding new videos, too, but maintenance helps a TON with keeping my earnings up. Hope that helps!

Is it permitted to add captions on an Amazon influencer video like you would find in CZcams shorts? I feel like this would help me stand out from competition, but I can't find anyone who has done it yet and I can't find any information on it.
I believe you can but I’ve noticed Amazon auto adds captions on all my videos after they’re live on the site so I’m guessing they’re doing that for you, too? Worth checking out!

You're so welcome! I believe it has to be a Facebook business page but I'm not familiar with a personal account in professional mode. Doesn't hurt to try since you can apply an unlimited number of times to get into the Amazon Influencer program.

My 3 videos were never approved. I tried 3 times and nothing. Even with that I still see that I have on-site commissions, I’m not sure how that works.
You can still earn onsite commission with your brand store content like idea lists and I believe photos too even if you haven’t been approved for video on site placement.
I wanna quit my job and do this full time 😭
Do you receive an email stating your 3 videos are approved? I uploaded them and I see them in my storefront right away.

Amazon does not send you an email when you’re approved so you’ll want to check back on the creator hub dashboard to find out when you get in.

No, not necessarily.
So if it has pictures of me on instagram and they see my face do I have to show my face in the videos?
Nope, you can choose to show your face in your videos or not. Up to you!
Hi Kathleen I'm an Amazon Influencer and have a storefront. I submitted my 3 videos back on Feb. 3rd, Uploaded other photos and all have been published. Does that mean I'm active? I haven't received a congratulations email yet. Why are they approving the videos but no email yet? Thanks
You’ll see a “congratulations” message when you log into your Creator Hub once you’ve been unlocked for onsite commissions from Amazon. They won’t email you, so best to keep checking!
Hi Kathleen, I uploaded my 3 videos for the Amazon On-Site Commission but did not get approved. I have 2 more shots at getting the approval. Before submitting my next set of 3 videos I want someone with your experience to look over my videos. Do you offer this type of 1 on 1 service?

Would you avoid products that don't have any videos? If so, why?
No, I wouldn’t avoid them. Sometimes there is a lower carousel with videos (and sometimes not) and other times a seller will add a video later, opening the carousel after I’ve already uploaded a video. It’s not a deal breaker for me by any means. Hope that helps!

Your channel for short is M.O.M. Great video! I would love to make that much on Amazon I have recently been approved for onsite commission but have found I made more before being approved. Once I add more videos I will earn more.

16 minutes in and what I have heard is what it's not and a lot of repetitive talk about something else. Stopped watching at 17 minutes. My time is valuable
