He personally told his problem when he first joined the show (I thought he was going to replace Ryu Suyoung). His kindness (and money - life savings/insurance) was stolen by his older brother (and threatened him up to this day).
When his older brother went to jail with the help of his neighbors, their father stormed at him with a knife. The show even....shown the photo where Soohong was being taken inside an ambulance.
That's why Soohong hesitated whether his wife should be seen on his segments or not.
