For all the crying about "harassment", somehow I never see them mention possibly the most egregious and well-documented instance of harassment in gaming in recent memory: when trans allies came out to attack people for daring to play Hogwarts Legacy upon its release.

So 300k people deciding to search for and actively join a steam curator group, could represent a number of players far greater than SBID itself is, and if that news hits the corpos in gaming, guess who they're gonna kick out. The way I see it is like this.
We didn’t win originally, if we won they’d not even have an in into the industry anymore.
GG1 was a stalemate at best, they maintained their entrance into the gaming industry and we maintained our ideological dominance over the broader gaming audience.
Since then we have grew and entrenched our ideological outlook into the video game industry’s consumers and they have done much the same but with the industry’s producers. That is exactly the reason this is happening again right now.
The current economic market is shrinking, people have less money and so spend it more carefully. They know that without a stronger ideological hold on the consumer section of the market all of their already ideologically dominated assets (designers, story writers, hr reps, management, etc.) will flounder, flop, and ultimately fail. They have picked the same battle again, not by coincidence or by mistake, but deliberately and by necessity for their continued economic survival.
The trouble is, the battle is the same but the landscape has changed, they have no good will and no trust.
Every claim they make will be disbelieved, the people they wish to brow beat and pressure don’t care about their approval or opinion.
And we have the ultimate advantage, one that they held last time. Side with us or be neutral and you’re more likely to succeed, side with them and things will be more difficult for you. We are the easier path this time.

The reason i bring this up isnt to tell you what to do with your own channel, nore do i have concrete metrics but i wonder what sort of drop off you had on the last cast. I think dev needs to come to a sort of ceasefire with the audience when in comes to video that perhaps have the capacity to relay critical information to those in the hobby. It’s well worth keeping in mind WHY Gamergate “lost”.
Hobbyists reacted to an in-hobby issue going directly to their points of contention to raise meaningful issues (nepotism, cliques, sex scandals, miss-representation of obvious reality) and got to raise this with the SPLJ (which got multiple bomb threats because of course it’s the gamers who were the harassers).
What happened in response to those criticisms was a lockstep suite of 17-18 articles from companies whose names were once thought of with fondness (10+ years prior before digital media rose and print media refused to adapt, then collapsed, got infested by parasites and the hollowed out husk puppeteered to benefit the new face of an old political religion) declaring their onetime audience “dead” despite gaming by then being thee largest entrainment media in the world by income and a national and international response from wider media and GOVERNMENTAL INSTITUTIONS parroting those attack articles and bring on third party histrionic spotlight chasers to all but cry before an assortment of bureaucrats and hangers on as they describe how they we’re made to feel so bad after they jumped out in an evolving “no mans land” in clown suits to parade like a circus in the middle of what to one side was a hobbyist issue and what to the other side was the first hint of resistance to a frog that had been on the slow boil for decades.
As a result, the smarter people got their points out, suffered a few bomb threats, changes their spending (and trust) habits and simply watched what was happening while carrying on with their lives as DIE took hold of every industry, the ministry of truth started to change government and media policy, social media probes itself the largest echo chamber in the world and western governments effectively treated their own citizens like the enemy while mass importing the “diverse and downtrodden” from the hellholes around the world.
The stupid people kept talking about that one time someone didn’t like their bad behaviour and developed a borderline personality and additional associated complexes about how mean and rude those 10 years removed former customers were and how thankfully they have ESG investment money slowing through their employers now so those horrible people with wallets are no longer needed.
