    I’ve had this bike for 2 weeks now and here’s the scoop so far. Easy to unpack and assemble. The neck and tire align oddly which threw me a little. Everything works right out of the box once assembled. It rides well. The fat tires are a huge plus. It’s well built. The digital control works well. Settings 1-3 easy to adjust on the fly. Throttle works well. Brakes work well. Lights are good and I actually like the horn. Pedaling works well but in assist. If you run out of battery this bike has weight. Starting and stopping in a city without battery assist would be tough. But, once you get it rolling you can pedal and easily keep it going without assist. I got this bad boy to 22.8 mph with me pedaling pumping it good on flat road. It also looks bad ass, So far I like everything about this bike except maybe the seat. I’ve never had a shock seat and have always had hard tail bikes. So this is new to me and feels a lot different than what Im used too. That’s actually the only thing. Battery life is very good and cruised for a couple hours at a time with nowhere near a concern. I’m trying to think, help. The seat is my only issue. But it’s early and hopefully YT shows me this vid again so I can update. Overall, happy camper. Get lots of looks, comments and get to meet/talk with a lot of new people. Hope this helps!

    Most impressive video test of battery life on this model bike that I have seen. Some similar models I have seen lose 2 bars after 2 miles which sounds terrible. This Heybike model seems to do very well. Question: What percentage of the total time do you estimate that you were pedaling during this test? How far do you think you could go in throttle only mode?

    after a few weeks of owning the Heybike. I truly love it. I recently purchased another ebike called the Veu. And I wish I bought another Heybike. The Veu is faster but it’s a much stiffer ride. I wonder what the peak watt output of the motor is and how many amps the controller is?

      @@JeremiahMcintosh yes street veu. the first day I got it the display went out after less than one hour. I was very concerned. They sent out another and seems to be working fine. They credited me 200 so I was like okay. The heybike seems to be simpler with its display but we shall see. I Gave the Heybike to the wife and she laughed at the Veu going dead on day one. But for 800 it’s pretty decent and fast with its Bafang motor. The front fork is not adjustable resulting in a stiff ride

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  Před 2 lety

    Hello Jerimiah, you are one of the best CZcamsrs on the site. You provide very thorough, informative reviews and candid reviews.
    If I may pose a couple of questions -
    It appears when you tested the Mars it had 5 Peddle Assist settings, I received mine 2 months ago and it came with 3. Did they lower the number of settings?
    Is there a difference in ride quality when the battery is under the seat vs. the frame?
    Spoke vs Mag - I thought I saw a comment denoting that spokes provide more flexibility than Mags, bend easier and are heavier, thoughts?
    Thanks Jerimiah, you are the go-to person when it comes to e-bike reviews!

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  Před 2 lety

      Thank you Jay I appreciate that!
      You can change how many PAS levels you have in the display settings. You can actually have 9 if you want to.
      On some bikes with the battery in the frame it does balance the load a little better.
      Mag rims are heavier and have less flexibility but you don’t have to worry about adjusting spokes.

    Great video as always! Since this bike and the Rideal sell for the same price, I can’t help but wonder how they compare to each other? Obviously the rideal has a better motor and the heybike has suspension, but in terms of overall riding experience which one did you like better?

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  Před 3 lety +1

      Totally two different style of bikes so they will be very different. The rideal is definitely a nicer build quality and a lot more power but the hay bike is fun to ride as well with the suspension and different riding style . Honestly it’s going to come down to what type of bike you’re looking for and need whether it be a traditional or a folding fat tire style.

    My Heybike Mars arrived ahead of schedule and I must say "Thank You" Jeremiah for the initial review that got me interested in the bike. (I just didn't feel like waiting the "maybe it will arrive, maybe it won't" ETA for the Lectric 2.0. Plus I got a better price). It's quite a step up from my Ancheer MTB in all regards. Better build quality and components (my brakes are well set up out of the box). More power of course-throttle only the Mars actually accelerates on a small hill the Ancheer slows down on, and I weight over 300 lbs. I especially like the more upright riding position the bike offers.
    In my opinion anyone who doesn't have to have a step thru and is tired of waiting for a Lectric won't go wrong in buying the Heybike Mars.

      Michael here are a few differences. Heybike has a bigger battery but not sure what brand cells, has throttle on pas 0, has more adjustability on pas levels, has 4” tires but not sure if this is better it’s your personal preference, comes with softer seat and suspension seatpost, usb charging, shipping may be quicker because they have been in stock,2yr warranty but company is fairly new. Time will tell if they have good customer service.
      Lectric has a smaller but name brand batteries, bigger display, cruise control, can be unlocked to a class 3 bike, throttle works in all pas levels but not in Pas0. Motor controller is 18amp vs 15amp. Comes with a 1yr warranty but companies has been around for a few years and has great customer service.

      @@JeremiahMcintosh Hello Jeremiah! Didn't you say on this video that you COULD unlock the bike's set-max speed? If you did, I'm pretty set with this bike rather than the Lectric. The potentially long waiting period for the Lectric is too much for me to accept when I can have the Heybike in a week or so. Before I make a final decision I want to know more about it's customer service, as I'm sold with just about everything else, including it's two-year warranty and of course it's price. I admit I've ride-tested the RAD mini bikes and I quite like both that and the step-through models - however, it's another $300+ extra cost and bare add-ons I'd have to accept despite their well made, solid performance and very good customer service. Thanks for the detailed review of the Heybike👍👍

    Just took out my mars today to fully test it's range. Got about 20 miles from full to empty on all throttle at 20mph on mostly flat surfaces. I'd say not bad, but a little disappointed. Its definitely fine for just a trip to some stores or for commute. The advertising is a little misleading and doesn't give you this actual fact. The "28 mph" gimmick that the "other bike" gets is a cute marketing ploy but frankly its useless 99% of the time. Yeah, you might be able to brag to your unsuspecting friends...but for those who actually ride these things, there are considerably more important things to consider...and BATTERY is a big one. How that "other bike" company failed to upgrade the battery in their version 2 series is beyond crazy. People will pay for a bigger battery.

      Jeremiah lives near me in The western part of Pa. which is in Appalachia. Tons of hills here. Hardly any perfectly flat roads. You really should look at the overall your average speed on routes that you take. Plenty of bikes can reach 28 on the flats but then slow to 10 mph or less on a hill and that just kills your average speed. That’s why I look for a motor with plenty of torque.
