I was once there, homeless. Most turn their back away from us because they tbought we were hopeless. You do not know the pain we had. We were rebuked by socitety and given false hope. We can survive but we need your compassion. We need you to love us, too.
Nah f the homeless. They make everyone else’s life a nightmare. They should throw them all in prisons. Congrats on being a normal member of society again.

Imagine attempting to have a business there, all that nasty shit is in front of your business and the city refuses to do anything about it.
There is a lot of business there. The government makes money from the homeless people. The programs are lucrative business
There a lot of thriving business in that area you'd be surprised
Fck your business if you refer to people in need as “that nasty sh!t”
Real talk 🤨
Until recently the city couldn't simply remove people from the sidewalk. They have been prevented by a court order. It's a little different now. The judge gave the city more leeway because there are more places and services available now to house and help these people.
" OH SAY CAN YOU SEE " NO NO NO
USA! Wealthiest third world nation! Who needs healthcare, public pensions, affordable housing, living wages, childcare, guaranteed college? Nahhh…we have millionaires, billionaires, and corporations who not only legally avoid paying taxes, they get tax refunds! Yay!
Needs to arrest the drug dealers and force addicts into treatment. Then they will go elsewhere.

@@user-fk7bb9jb7v The millions of workers make the wealthy billions and billions of dollars. The wealthy and corporations can afford to pay their taxes and stop paying off Super PACs to avoid paying taxes.
That part of the city has been a homeless slum since I was a little kid more than 50 years ago. They didn't have a lot of tents up back then. Folks just laid down on the sidewalk. But this mass of homelessness isn't exactly a new phenomenon in downtown L.A. The real sleaze was on 5th street. Living on that street was referred to as being "On the nickel."
Thanks for sharing your experience in the area Richard 🙌

I do not mind donating from time to time, but NOT for these people to stay there, because that is “enabling”. So, forget that.

just poor people. it's the ones with alot of money you should be afraid of.
An evil and corrupt world we live in. Some of these people probably were working people at one time but unfortunately life got to them. 😢
The homeless industrial complex. NPO’s only have to donate 4% of the money they collect. Thus, they can legally pay 96% to themselves as a salary. Best sales commission in the world!! No representation without taxation. Make America Safe Again!!
Utter bullshit. Research homelessness in Skid Row and you'll see similar number reaching back to the 1930s, way before NGOs. The problem is with America's political and economic system of hyper capitalism. What will solve this is if Americans pay higher taxes and that money goes to social safety nets that actually work. The problem is greed and wealth hoarding.
Prosperity just isn't on the agenda for some politicians.
Wow. It’s wild to see…..
I was surprised how many people willingly park their cars there
People have business around that area.
People work at tons of businesses on all those streets.
I felt upset hearing the yelping dog. So hope it was ok.

Man that place looks like heaven compared to Kensington
Thanks 👍 really show👍
To be or not to be.🤷👀
Blocking the sidewalks with tents and garbage. Normal citizens don't want to be there. Set up a compound for them 50 miles out of town, fenced in, with sanitation. Clear the streets. Feed them, no drugs, no alcohol. Maybe when they sober up they'll leave.
I was just looking for some Skid Row tunes and this came up 😂
😄
🤣
It must be terrible living in this country United States of America 🇺🇸 😢
Nah just LA. Come visit Boston.
Thank you.
Skid Row LA vs Kensington PA.......both are Hellish but Kensington beats the Row for being the worst place. There is little help in Kensington and the only help you get is safe needles....to do more drugs. At least the city of LA tries to do something but the majority of these people are so far gone food and shelter does not help somebody out of their mind on drugs.
They are way more homeless in skid than Kensington Philly , I live an hour and a half from Kensington, it’s only like two blocks with that unfortunately people , in California it’s all Over the place, can’t compare it.

You would have to be INSANE to live in a tent there. You would have to be INSANE to vote another democrat as well.
@@dalepxp8963yeah cause the Republicans are the ones fighting for affordable mental health and drug rehabilitation. It's the Republicans fighting for affordable housing. Sure thing dude
You should see how they are treated inside the waiting rooms trying to sign up for a room. The office don't help them and they discriminate on the public. The government wants the homeless people there on the streets. It's a money system
Elaborate
Money system for who? Not the tax payers,
Just an odd observation. Who's cars are parked there? It doesn't look like are a lot of business that are there and open . So where do all the super nice cars come from?
Drug dealers and pimps…they make a lot of money in the slums
some of skid row is near the jewelry district, flowers and textile districts, some folks might be shopping or working
Sending love ❤️ to a place that has little…those people on the street are you and I…we are all one 🦋🦋🦋
This will never go away 😡
True, homelessness has been around since the creation of civilization. There is evidence it happened in Roman times and even the Bible mentions it.
It's about trying to mitigate it as much as realistically possible.
Dude, I walked there as a tourist with camera and backpack. You need to come to SA!
Skid Row is whatever You want to be . I pass by almost every day
Wonder how many of them moved out their to be actors and singers.....that's why I'm not moving out there unless it's something solid...fukk i look like moving clear across the country on a "maybe"....
There are a lot of such scenarios in LA, unfortunately.
Trying to run a business down there must be painful. No one cares about them😢
Yeah, looks like the businesses and churches in the community didn't take care of their community.
You have a lot of wholesale type of businesses that don't necessarily depend on foot traffic. Though you do have some like places to grab a bite to eat or get personal items an such. The kind of stuff you find in a liquor store or corner market.
I seriously thought you were the CZcamsr Nuance Bro 😎
😆
Imagine you end up walking on Skid Row like this guy is doing and you get assaulted. You and the crazy homeless person get into a struggle. Rolling on the ground. You're trying to get him off of you. The both of you go crashing into someone's tent. He somehow grips your shirt and rips it. You're now all dirty from rolling on the ground. The homeless man then brandished a knife and lunges at you. You take off running. You burst into a store in an attempt to get the owner to call for help. He takes one look at you and thinks you're a homeless too because you're all dirty and your clothes are all ripped and dirty. He tells you to GTFO. The cops arrived and cuffs you for loitering. You're trying to explain to them that you're not homeless. You end up staying three days in Jail because your immediate family doesn't know where you are. During the melee, you lost your phone and your wallet. You don't have anybody's number memorized. You're completely screwed. Oh what a mess.
That could be a movie 🙌
@@DanielMarsLife And upon release, they thrust you back onto Skid Row where you become just another statistic there. Lost in the middle of the city. Hooked on drugs at no fault of your own. Spiraling out of control as the day goes. Day after day and night after night. You slowly turn into one of them. And when your family finally tracks you down; they couldn't believe what they were seeing. And with all your might, you uttered the word. "Help."
You have a huge imagination. I dig it 😂❤

My first three times actually visiting LA I stayed at those apartments on San Pedro Street on your right at 5:17, it's really not that dangerous in my opinion. It's more sad then anything the homelessness is a serious problem in LA as you can see. The things I witnessed throughout my stay were disturbing but it reminded me how F**cked up this world is, so many lost souls in this section of the city. I wish nothing but the best for LA I love the place and hope to call it home one day! Much love from Baltimore
Hi Dx3294. Thanks for sharing your experiences in the area. Sending lots of love to Baltimore 🫶
Not when you have a city (and state) government that allows this.
@@rayb.6537 Yes Baltimore has problems as well, a lot of problems actually. More drugs, guns and violence then anything... Keep in mind my city is very small a population of around 580,000. Violent crimes per 1000 in my city is sitting at 12.07 picture that. Homlessness is a huge problem here as well but compared to the amount of violent crimes we see it is crazy! Baltimore is a beautiful place just like LA, I love it here but what major city doesn't have issues.

This is Garcetti's Kingdom....after 9 years being a woke mayor...and 750 million spent on the "Industrial homeless complex" ...see any real help out there ? Any mental, drug and alcohol recovery institutions or hospitals ? Bravo to Danny. This IS education for the uninformed. IMO, a mass influx of required education is needed here, on each block AND in the schools. We have to find a way to truly help these broken souls - they are beyond self help! So sad to see our fellow man descend into a quagmire of futility.
Thanks, Qiman. I appreciate the support 🙏
Old guy told me. There's not much that a good fire can't take care of. Check each tent. If nobody is there, torch it.
I saw Skid Row in the late 70z they Rocked! Keep voting blue no matter who and live like this forever. FJB
Juxtaposed with the extreme/excessive wealth of the very top 1% makes our "modern" society look pretty damn primitive. Just a little balancing could add some meaningful humanity to our capitalist way of life.
Thank you for your input. Speaking of it. Take a look at my little Tokyo video. What you see in both videos is only 4 minutes of walking distance apart.
@@DanielMarsLifendeed. Same goes for any street West of Spring street not that far away either. In fact you can see them constructing a large building in the video. Development is happening all over DTLA. And if you go a few blocks in the other direction you have the Arts District which is just South of the Little Tokyo area. Very drastic differences.
BTW, if you decide to revisit DTLA, it would be interesting if you walked from the good areas of DTLA to the ones where the homeless congregate. People not familiar with DTLA would be very surprised how quickly the neighborhood changes.
If you do revisit this area try and get video equipment that is easily disguised and wear clothes that are not new but comfortable and loose. Comfortable but not expensive shoes too. You want to blend in all the areas you video.
Man this is nothing compared to the downtown east side in Vancouver
For real? I thought Vancouver was nice
