This cover was made kind of like a jam session in a way.
According to Calli, her and Gura would do a recording, then send it to the other who would add some more to it and send it back.
And they did that several times adding different layers to it, that's where the various exclamations and whispers by Gura came from, for example. It was kind of just ad-libbed in a way.
As for the rap, yes it was all original lyrics that Calli added to the otherwise empty instrumental sections that normally exist in this song during the intro and in the middle.

I love their King cover. The art, the rap, how great they work together, it all comes together to make it seem like a new song.
Samemori definitely left their mark on this one lol. that's all I really ask of a cover song.
After watching their version of King, I can't watch any other any longer, it's just feels incomplete without their doubled passion, rapping and whispering.
I find myself contantly getting back to this cover, whenever I want a surge of energy to flow and kick my day into a better mood.
And Q just set itself right into the same spot.
Calli and Gura has such unrivaled chemistry together, you'd hardly find anywhere else.
They're dangerous, adorkable and full of passion, creativity.
Can't get enough of their collabs. :3
And yeah, if you haven't already checked Gura's original song Reflect, might as well give it a watch, her angelic voice, unusual theme, nobody expected from a "cutesy small shark girl" and banger music, are enough of reason to give it a try.

Gura also did a version of King while playing her ukulele, which is actually probably my favorite. I think you'd like that one cause it's quite different too!
iirc they had a stream where they talked about the Q title and during brainstorming they thought of calling it "queen" but that would obviously lead to something else when searching for it, after that they mentioned "killer queens" which they had to drop for obvious reasons too and after awhile landed on just "q"
This was done while they were miles apart from each other. Can’t wait for when they can actually collab in the same room

To me, this is the best version of the song: it adds a layer of fun to it that spice it all up, I mean, you cannot listen to this without picturing in your head the BoneBros prompting each other and bopping to the other one's lines.
It's perfect!
Also, as a little add on: I like to imagine that, during that final "guitar raff" they do with their voices, Calli is air guitaring her scythe like a true musician would while moving her body to the rythm... while Gura jumps into with esagerate gestures playing her trident like there is no tomorrow.

Add on 2: whenever they switch the "Left side/right side" part, I lke to imagine them hooking the respective weapons and twirling each other in said directions, effectively swapping positions.
It's like no King cover you've ever heard before...

Ayunda Risu, Enna Alouette and Hoshimashi Suisei are my favorite King covers, in no specific order, but this is unique.

Calli looks like someone you would obey no matter what because if you don't something bad will happen. While Gura looks like cute and nice but if you poke a sore spot she will eat you as a whole or someone who will toy with you till your death.
