    Great video. I bought a 1999 VX from the original owner with 104,000 miles. It sat for several years so it needed some work. Black on Black made the cladding like new. Going to get it wrapped because painting it is to expensive. love this car!!

    I have a 99 as well .mine's even more rare being one of the iron Man editions. Everywhere I go I get bombarded with people asking what is that thing ,mostly at gas stations . I see a lot of potentials in these machines .I think they are so cool. Really stand out . I'd like to LS swap mine or do a EV conversion. 111k on mine

      That’s awesome! If you end up doing a engine swap I’d love to know how it goes. I’ve thought about an LS swap as well. EV would also be super cool!

    I have a 1999 too. Just shy of 200000 miles. Had the transmission rebuilt this summer, took a while to find all the parts and I've only driven about 50 miles since the rebuild. The only other issue is the Power Steering leak and the Cruise control not working any more. Hope to pull the front end apart next summer to replace the Power Steering pump and all the lines, replace all the rubber vacuum and water lines and fix the passenger side leak under the windshield. Have only played with the All Wheel drive in the snow (FUN) and a bit on a rocky trail in Oklahoma. Might look for one of those electric generating stoves.

      Awesome to here of other running VehiCROSS’s out there! I’ll probably need to rebuild my transmission soon, worked it pretty hard in Moab and it hasn’t been the same since. I also need to fix a steering leak but I did pickup a seal kit recently. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!

    Where do you get parts for one of those. I seen one the other day and actually like it. I love different and weird things.

    • @octanemotorwerks
      @octanemotorwerks  Před 2 lety +1

      I’ve surprisingly been able to get most general parts from local parts stores. The VehiCROSS shares a lot of parts with the Isuzu Rodeo which as a little easier to come by. As for some of the special interior parts I’ve been able to source from eBay.

    At Isuzu the only way to go on the rear seats it`s on the passenger side,no matter if its LHD or RHD. So it`s normal to have no acces on the driver side.

    Im trying to put big tires on my vehicross. You mentioned you have 33x12.50 width? And that width and size doesnt rub on full turns? Also,any idea how much you raised car from stock height to make tire size work?
    Thanks! Car looks nice

      @octanemotorwerks  Před 10 měsíci

      Ya mine are 33x12.5. I put lift springs in the rear and cranked the torsion bars on the front. Had to trim the front fenders on both the front near the bumper and hammer the rear in a bit but they clear pretty well. Thanks for watching!

    Do you think $6500 for the 00 in good condition with 160k on it is an okay deal? I've found two in my state, the other has 80k on it and a busted bumper they want 10k.

    • @octanemotorwerks
      @octanemotorwerks  Před rokem +1

      That’s probably a decent deal. I got my 1999 for $5k in 2018 with close to 200k miles. It was in great condition at the time but it’s showing its age now.

      @rodlappin6147 Před rokem

      The story I heard was it was a concept not expected to generate the attention it did. The molds were made from a ceramic material and when they no longer could make quality parts they stopped making the vehicle.

    when you say "All time 4WD" did you mean it's running 4wd even in highways?

    • @octanemotorwerks
      @octanemotorwerks  Před 6 měsíci

      Yes it always has the front axles engaged however the TOD system (Torque On Demand) doesn’t give them constant power unless the you use the power/snow modes or unless you shift into 4Low . You can unplug the TOD under the passenger seat to keep it in 2WD and I’ve heard of some setting up a switch to turn it off easier.

      Keep it full of oil and they will run a long time. The do leak some and maybe consume some too. Mine is under 200000, but not by much. Have driven it lots of miles since buying it used. with a bit over 100000 miles on it.
