- We were lucky enough to find this 1948 Flxible Bus at Jack Seismore's RV Museum. This is the actual one that was filmed in the Robin Williams movie, RV. It was so cool to check out.

My grandfather used to drive that bus, it was my moms high school band bus before it was bought for the movie
That's awesome. We love hearing the history of RVs. Thanks for sharing that and for watching.
There were four of those buses. It was really impressive to see them coming down the road, one after the other. No other high school had anything like it. It is a shame they messed two of them up for a movie.
What was it's original colour?
@@edwardpearce1138 reminds me of when the hearse dudes crack it when a funeral coach/ambulance is converted to a Ectomobile🤣 But I guess you guys don't have to worry about having lots of "happy max" clones. But the screen used Sony car is kept outside and can no longer move under it's own power, while the happy max enjoys it's retirement in a temperature controlled building.
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 Gold and black. It was the band bus for Elizabeth City (NC) High School, then Northeastern HS.
Wow, what a goooood looking bus! I like red paint outside. I'm going to watch Robin Williams movie tonight. Thanks for another great video. Happy New Year!!
They're American treasures today but too bad so few of them are still original as from the factory. You could buy Flxibles new equipped as motor homes, mobile offices or coaches, but most were coaches. The big model, like this one, had a Buick straight 8 with 4-speed manual trans. I knew a guy back in the 70s who had one that was still all original for $3000, but it was more than I could afford at the time. It's the only totally original one I've ever seen. I guess even repurposed it's good some survive nicely done over.
They certainly are and we were so excited to see it and get to go inside. We can't imagine what it would be like to drive it down the road. Glad you liked it.
Happy travels in 2019!
Thanks guys! You too. We can't wait to see where that new 5th takes you. Thanks for watching.
We can't wait either. Gonna be so much fun.
Nice ride, how does it flex or flexibility in uses,,thxs
I'm not sure of the history in the name Flxible or why it was chosen as the bus originally was used as a people moving/transit type of bus which then creative people turned into the RVs we are loving today. Thanks for watching.
@@DoesSizeMatter thxs for getting back to me,im one of those who would spend all nite wondering what it means,,I hope you are enjoying the bus, it's really nice, thxs for the video,,gb
Lloyd and i just finished this video! Looks like a great bus to take across the country might have to see if I can get my hands on one. But is there a bathroom?
Haha, unfortunately no bathroom, I think because it was really converted for the movie but it was fun to take a look at. For an extra special one check out technomadia they showed a friends conversion and it is wow! Thanks for watching guys.
@@DoesSizeMatter There's a video of one totally restored as original but with a bathroom in the storage area at the rear. czcams.com/video/aDnu8XU43DM/video.html
