I have been looking at retro handhelds for a while now, a couple months maybe. I instantly fell in love with the RG353M because of how much it reminded me of a GBA Micro with analog sticks, but i was a little upset with having the SAME freaking games over and over and over (i own a snes classic, have the nintendo switch online packages, and a good chunk of the 3ds Eshop, how many consoles do i need DKC1 and 2, Super Mario World, and FZero on??). i started looking at the RG505 and RP3+, but i didnt love either, and neither seemed pocketable. Now, theres this. the best of both worlds. a sleek, metal design, that i can run all my favorite stuff on, stream my steam when i want to play Elden Ring in bed, play android, and PSP games that i never got to try. Take my money, and let me instantly regret my decision in a month, Anbernic. This will be my first handheld of this kind. im so excited. ill be on the website at drop to buy, in case it sells out. Trigger fingers ready.
I want one of these but I keep going back to the Odin website which is just as confusing LOL, I would love to see a comparison between this and the price of a comparable Odin handheld.

What i dont like is the screen though. It just has really weak colors and bad contrast and i cant get used to it :/ still got a few days to return it and i think i will
It's a great system and it will do a lot of emulation on older and newer stuff with the PS Vita 3K emulator the compatibility list for this is old and most of it is showing tests on a Windows computer I've tested 4 games so far And I am using version 6 of vita 3k Super Robot Wars V plays fine but the audio stutters and is a little garbled especially when someone's talking if you try and quick save the game it crashes but it saves okay normally criminal Girls 2 plays fine music is fine Revere got stuck on loading screen Dungeon Travelers 2 crased this handheld does do some 3DS games especially the role playing games Sega Saturn and Dreamcast RPGs and RPGs for PlayStation 2 PSP DS and also for GameCube I'm happy with my purchase all the PS2 games I want to play work and a bonus of getting 3DS and a bunch of other systems along with it
Just got one is these bad boys a few days ago and man, I can't put the dang thing down. I love the 4:3 screen, though I do wish got brighter. Also the battery life has been impressive to say the least. I haven't upgraded to Gama yet but apparently the battery life will be even better on that os.
I'll pass but it looks cool. I've owned a Z Flip 3 since launch. I turned it for Dreamcast, PS2, and GameCube emulation since my modded Vita can only reach PSP or below. I care not to revisit N64 games at all. I do not find any of these Chinese handhelds offering any value if you own a smartphone with Snapdragon 888 or above. My Flip 3 is already perfect for Dreamcast, PS2, and GameCube emulation since Flex mode looks close to 4:3 which is most of their library's native resolution. I think for people who buy these handhelds, it's to own a dedicated gaming system. A phone can still be obtrusive. Can kill its battery life faster. Small form factors like Miyoo Mini also can make it worthwhile and serves as a complementary device to your smartphone. I notice playing Super Mario World on my modded Vita is way better than on my Flip 3. That input lag from BT controllers for older consoles. I can make much more precise jumps on a dedicated handheld. I can do the one-inch punch combo with Forest Law in Tekken 3 much easier on the Vita than Z Flip. I'm still not into these Chinese handhelds. A lot of it to me is a waste of money if you already own a fairly powerful smartphone. These $150-$200 handhelds have an SoC that isn't better than a Snapdragon 845 from 5 years ago and you can buy a Pixel 3 for $100 or less these days. I find emulation from any handheld also pointless. Like I'm really not interested in 3DS, Vita, and Switch emulation because you can just own one of those devices and play your games there. They're already portable. Emulation to me is more important coming from home consoles. You don't need to wait 10 to 15 years for Switch emulation to get better. Just play your games from there.
Vs Retroid Pocket 3+ I like: metal shell and larger buttons and Dpad Dislike: lower resolution screen, no 16:9 aspect so you can't do PSP, GBA, NDS and 3DS as well, and Dpad on the bottom
Day 1 purchase for me. It's the perfect size and does everything I want it to. That build quality is really nice as well. It will pair well with my RG35XX and allow me to play GameCube, PSP and Dreamcast games at a compact form factor. Thanks for this video!
Never really been a fan of any Anbernic device. But the performance in this form factor makes it compelling as a grab and go device. Loving the improvements these handhelds have made the last few years.
I think im gonna go for this because i like the metal shell, and my tablet is recent too old for those newer console quality android games, like Honkai Impact.
Could you do some devil may cry from ps2 and maybe even push your luck with some NFS Pro Street? I'd love to know if this is the device that finally gets me off my RG351MP

makes a lot of sense, but I disagree in terms of buying other handheld. it is great to have one device that can emulate lots of things, for price reasons and simplicity. I don't do much emulation but when I do it, it'll vary from something as easy as the gba to something as difficult as the switch, so I stick with my steam deck for everything. I already do all my steam gaming on it, so I have no use for buying other mobile consoles when the deck can handle everything. it is bigger obviously but it's worth it for me to have simplicity and not have to buy anything else.

@@maiastniki I think im leaning towards the handheld ones because the idea of gaming on the go seems better to me. I moved a computer to my living room to play emulators but never really use it. Could see myself booting up a 3ds emulator and omega ruby while I'm out and about tho

I got a Retroid Pocket 3+ about a month ago, but this actually makes a lot more sense for me, since most of the games I play are 4:3 and wide-screen hacks usually look wrong and often glitchy.
Can someone please help, I've looked and asked everywhere. My imported epic games launch to the epic games launcher instead of the games. Steam and all other platforms work but Epic.

Are you using a Sony cam? That might explain the green tint. There are luts that you can use remove it

They perform the same. I’ve got a rp3+ and a rg505.
This is in a metal shell, which makes it normally 30 dollars above their plastic versions. I suspect this to be around 175-180.
Not only are they the same SoC, this devices screen resolution is lower so everything should perform better than RP3+

The stick placement makes zero sense considering the GameCube and PS2 performance is not good.
Dreamcast used that same stick placement (supposedly it was the inspiration for the Xbox Duke controller)
