He's also the best passer of all-time! And my two favorite players - growing up - were Magic and Stockton. But Jokic is a better passer. It's not even debatable for me!
This is why:
- Stockton passing was methodical. Not very sexy, but very effective with Malone. Stockton has efficiency.
- Magic passing was incredible in transition. But his half-court passing was pretty static, like LeBron's. He didn't move much, and the ball wasn't moving that much either. Magic is creative and flashy, but static.
- Jokic, he has the qualities of both Magic and Stockton, but he also makes the ball move all the time. All the players play with him because they know their effort for being open will always be rewarded. He is passing is creative, efficient, flashy, and dynamic. He has everything! Hence, he is the best passer of all-time!
Dont get me wrong, Shaq is the most dominant because of his physic, Jokic is the most dominant bcz of his knowledge and basketball IQ. I take Jokic for the goat of all centeres. I dont care about eras, he is playing with 30% and makeing TD.

The fact that Shaq actually thought about how hed have to play Jokic (and Denver) instead of just laughing at the possibility is the biggest compliment he could give lol. Only Giannis and Jokic have gotten that complement in the last 15 years.

T-Mac has a similar opinion of my own... it's kinda bizarre to imagine another big man who have skill level to a point of being compared with Olajuwon (by far the most talented big man that ever played the game)... BUT, Jokic has a real shot at that, on offense he is arguably more skilled than Olajuwon and that's insane because we're talking about alltime great talent. Of course Jokic has inflated numbers because of how soft and weak the NBA is today, the rules are pathetic allowing the offense to run free, taking advantage of moving screens, palming, traveling, etc.. it's a travesty. However, if the NBA allowed more physicality and enforced the rules, Jokic would be dominant anyway, always exploring the zones, always selecting the best play available (as play selection goes, he is maybe the best of alltimes, crazy efficiency)
I am a huge fan of Olajuwon, so it's kinda a "relieve" to see how Jokic is so average at defense, it's like the basketball gods were trying to balance him somehow, lol you can be the alltime great center on offense, but your defense will suffer for it. I do think Jokic would be a better defender if the NBA was actually a basketball league, not a soft abomination, the way he could predict plays, he would take space and redirect traffic... but the defense can't play in the modern NBA, so Jokic takes a HUGE advantage on offense, but on defense he can't do too much. A shame, so many unique stars like Giannis, Jokic, Luka and so on, great talent limited by a pathetic league
His fundamentals are what make him as good as he his, he ain't flashy or looking for stardom he loves his team & he plays with intelligence making sure they all get involved, & his PASSING IQ damn near up there with Doncic 🤯🔥 i don't like Denver but Shaq is right he does make you play better, making him an amazing asset to any team really
