  • In this video, I show how you can create "handles" to modify your surfaces in 3D instead of in a 2d sketch. I show a couple of different examples on how this could be useful.

    Nice workaround for those Hard to Handle surfaces.

    That is a pretty neat trick.....thanks for taking the time to explain this in detail.

    That’s a really great tip. You also answered my question before I asked it.

    That’s one of those “tools in the armoury” that I never knew I needed. Thanks.

      Ya, not used often, but handy when needed. Thanks for watching!

    Great workaround tip Brad that addresses exactly this problem that I've come up against in the past.
    It does make you wonder though why the program can't be changed so that the tangency handles are visible in the sketch when in the 3D environment.

    This should really be a visibility option for sketches (as show dimensions).

    You say bicycle seat I'm fat so the first thing I thought was Pringles chip :)

      lol. Honestly, I also thought Pringles Chip, but I figured a bicycle seat was more relatable.

    Great tip and topic going to use this for sure. QQ: is there a quick way to reuse last command or hot key rather than moving up to constraint menu bar?

    • @MrTiHiDi
      @MrTiHiDi Před měsícem +1

      Maybe make all the lines colinear then go around and make them coincident? but this is pretty fast and so useful.

    this is a great ttip! why don't the handles show on the 3D model? is there an explanation?

    • @bradtallis8968
      @bradtallis8968  Před měsícem +2

      The handles don't show up in the model as they are 2D handles in the sketch. By tracing over them and adding the coincident constraints onto them, we are basically turning them into a 3D sketch representation. Then when we show the sketch in the model workspace, you are technically moving them around in 3D.
