  • TCS - TUBELESS COMPATIBLE SYSTEM
    TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) is our standardized tubeless rim/tire system designed to meet international ETRTO standards and ensure ultimate reliability. Pairing WTB’s legendary casings and tread compounds with a tubeless aramid bead provides increased traction and reliability of a tubeless tire, at a lower weight than any tubed alternative. Our TCS system includes tires, rims, tape, sealant and valves to provide a comprehensive package of unrivaled tubeless performance and WTB reliability.
    Required Components
    • TCS Compatible Rims/Wheels
    • Solid Strip
    • TCS Rim Tape (always +5mm wider than internal rim diameter)
    • TCS Tubeless Valves
    • TCS Tubeless Compatible Tire
    • TCS Tubeless Tire Sealant
    Assembly Method
    • Thoroughly clean rim with rubbing alcohol, or similar cleaning fluid that leaves no residue.
    • Install Solid Strip, ensuring the valve hole lines up with the valve hole in the rim
    • Thoroughly clean rim again once Solid Strip is in place
    • Select TCS tape that is 5mm wider that the internal rim width. The TCS tape needs to follow the contour of the rim profile, so it will need to be 5mm wider to allow for this. (example: i30 rim = 35mm TCS tape)
    • The TCS tape is used OVER the Solid Strip. Starting at 3 spokes from the valve, tape over the valve and continue for one lap of the wheel whilst pulling tight on tape as you go. When you back to the start, tape back over the valve hole again and finish 3 spokes to the other side of the valve. The tape overlap distance should be around 6 spokes in total with the valve hole being central. Cut the tape with clean, sharp scissors.
    • Firmly press down on the tape to ensure proper adhesion. When pressed down fully, you should see the red Solid Strip showing through the TCS tape.
    • Locate valve hole and pierce with sharp blade. Then turn the blade 90 degrees and pierce again to leave a small ‘X’ where the valve will be located.
    • Insert TCS Valve and fit the valve nut (as tight as you can with your fingers) to complete the TCS setup.

    Excellent video! This should be prominently linked from every page on the WTB site that mentions TCS or any TCS product. I had to find it through CZcams.

    Excellent tutorial best ive watched so far . To convert from tubes to tuneless Ive got a tough wtb Ranger to fit on my 27 plus bike as well as a conti crossking for the summer . The ranger is heavier tyre si do u think that would be better as a front tyre .? Or just keeo on my maxxid high roller on the front and bung the ranger on the rear ? :)

      Hey there, awesome to hear you enjoyed the tutorial! Generally people like to fit the 'heavier' tyre to the rear as that's usually where you need the more supportive casing.
      The Ranger is also a smaller & fast rolling tread design than the High Roller, and usually that lends it's to being a more efficient rear tyre too. Hope this helps!

      @@WTBtv I do have 1 more question that I hope you can answer. I have a Schwinn Axum and the rear dropout is a 141qr. I know you make that in the ST i30, but do you make any other 29in (141qr 6bolt disc) rear wheel?? TY

    In the WTB SX19, is it possible to go tubeless? I didn't see this information on the website

      @WTBtv  Před rokem +1

      Hey there, you need to look for the TCS logo on the graphics. If you see the logo then they are tubeless ready, but if there's no logo then it's tubes only. Hope this helps!

    Is the sealeant thin enough to fill up through the valve? (Sclaverand)
    Or only recommend to pop out one side of the tire bead and fill up?
    Trough the valve is just sooo quick done.

      Hey Kai. When installing a new tire it's best to shake & pour straight into the tire, but you can certainly top-up through the valve :)

      My WTB wheelset i30 TCS 2.0 came with tubes. I don't see the red strip. There is a black strip. Should I remove that?

    • @WTBtv
      @WTBtv  Před rokem

      @@callmedd3494 Hey! The wheels can set up tubeless without the red strip - you just won't have the extra protection against broken spokes etc.
      You will need a well fitted layer of tubeless tape though, as that is crucial to the setup. Hope this helps!
