    I’ve been playing trumpet for 15 years, professionally for about 3. Knowing about the physiology of the instrument, it just doesn’t make sense that Louis can hit high G/A and above with such a fat tone. It sounds like he is cheating, and looking at him while playing, he never seems to tense. He’s truly an anomaly in our field.

    I'm really into old video game music, and one of the synth instruments that really stands out in video game soundtracks for the SNES and the Gameboy Advanced is the trumpet, notably from Final Fantasy games. As for this track itself, it's like relaxing to NPR on a drive without news of war or hardship. Nice.

    How do you transcribe a song how do you get the rhythms and the time signature right?

    • @tristanperciful6609
      @tristanperciful6609 Před 8 měsíci

      What I do is consider all the possible options, pick which one makes the most sense to me, and hope the composer agrees
      Ex: I hear 4 beats, so I know the top number will probably be 4. The most common time signature with 4 beats is 4/4, so I'll use that one even though 4/8 or 4/2 would technically work.

    • @ronnieflatman6381
      @ronnieflatman6381  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Time signatures just choose what feels right mostly, although there can be some gray area between notation of it. Key signatures are harder but it’s best to find the root note (commonly the first note of the melody) however in jazz music like this it’s common to start on the 5th and just play around until you find the right root chord. Or, get a piano out and play the order of flats and sharps until they sound wrong, then you know you’ve got enough. Hope that helps.
