@@miltonmilky5970 If you ask me, Takashi Sasaki’s flows remind me from that of Buddy Rich so he’s pretty much at that level. Don’t get me wrong, akira is an excellent drummer as well and has marked a long and outstanding reputation in the band but even with Takashi being in the band only for a short while, his drumming was on a much higher scale. He’s one of the pioneers that put Casiopea on the face of japan back then.
I still like Akira's style of playing better and its complexity, but Takashi Sasaki can play those insane fast rolls and really smooth sounding fills which i like too
@Clemens Schrage I'm still trying to figure out when exactly he left the band. I read somewhere it was during the making of Superflight, which was released in 1979 according to Discogs, but in this footage of Space Road allegedly from 1980 it looks and sounds like him though I can't tell for sure. czcams.com/video/7s0PWZokPAc/video.html
@@pleasetellmethatyouloveme6922 There's one bootleg show with Sasaki playing, 'Live @ Lo-D Plaza 10.10.1979,' which is only one of two tapes where he plays live. The other one is on New Years Eve 1979 and is very poor quality (and may just be one of the last shows he played with them). Other than work with Casiopea on their Debut and SuperFlight, he also played on an album called 'Spiral Fusion' with the rest of the original Casiopea lineup, but no complete upload of the album exists on youtube. As far as after Casiopea goes, I think he worked on production duties on other recordings and did session work, but mostly resigned himself from the major music industry. Alot of this information is speculative, mind you, but he's such an enigmatic figure with such little information about him that its hard to really find anything concrete.

This performance has so much energy and enthusiasm. It's awesome to listen to. Their precision and cohesion whilst playing live are mesmerising to see. An amazing performance. 👏🏾 🤌🏾
Right now I'm thinking how is it possible that I'll be 35 years old in 2023 and I've just heard this band. I'm too excited to hear it, I'm already waiting for a tour to see you guys live!!
One of the tightest pieces of music I have ever listened to / watched. Sasaki is a monster alright but Sakurai is another one if you ask me. This rhythmic duo is kind of the Japanese cousin to the Mike Clark/Paul Jackson duo. But sped up.
Imagine seeing this live...holy shit
I air drum to this, and i'm exhausted when the song is over. Can't imagine how it feels to actually play that
Akira Jimbo is a great drummer, but sweet Lord in Heaven Takashi Sasaki is an absolute beast
And this is why Casiopea - Casiopea is their best album.
what makes him better?

His drumming reminds me way too much of Bruford's and Cobham's.
That bass tone is awesome!
El famoso Jaco tone !

We need more footage of 1979 Casiopea.

I love japanese jazz fusion, thanks to my dad for introducing me this band 6 years ago. Takashi's drumming insane!
I am so happy that your Dad introduced you to Casiopea. Respect to him. I was introduced to Casiopea via Meiko Kaji.

Today, on the 20th of October,
1am
i discovered the self titled Casiopea (1979) album
i’m falling in love with this group already🫶🏿
Bro I've been trapped in the Casiopea hole for 1 year. It does not get old. Mint Jams forever.
The bass and druming are wild
Love seeing the smiles at 1:51 on Issei’s and Tetsuro’s face after his funky slide.
It was 1979. It is still good in 2021.
music will live forever
Takashi Sasaki on drums...wow..!!
Takashi Sasakiis so goooood.
This performance has so much energy and enthusiasm. It's awesome to listen to. Their precision and cohesion whilst playing live are mesmerising to see. An amazing performance. 👏🏾 🤌🏾
oh my dear lord ♥
So you've discovered the japanese fusion masters
Wilburgur listens to casiopea? wowie
I know what you mean ;-)
holly shit you listen to casiopea as well
huh? WHAT?
Takashi's drumming so godly
Takashi Sasaki is so FUCKING GOOD
One of the funkiest jazz fusion performances ever
Right now I'm thinking how is it possible that I'll be 35 years old in 2023 and I've just heard this band. I'm too excited to hear it, I'm already waiting for a tour to see you guys live!!
I can't stop replaying 2:02 holy shit those are some dexterous fingers o_O
That busy bass, wonderful playing as always Mr. Sakurai!
My only inspiration to keep on being a jazz bassist is Tetsuo Sakurai :))
I recently discovered this amazing jazz fusion band, and I love it!! Japanese masters!
Who needs drugs when you can have music like this to take you on a natural high?
whooaa... this is one of my fave tune. Mr. Sakurai's bass line so great and busy.
That speed is unstoppable! I respect this version than the later ones
2:34 til the end is so good, they're amazing
This band, their music has what other bands should have. heart
I just love how tetsuo is playing a bass double the size of him 😂😂
one of the great band in the world.
Tetsuo Sakurai is a monster! Heck, they all are monsters!
I can't stop playing and sharing this video!
Tetsuo is the best fushion bass player ever
I love how insane is their playing but how cool is the music is to listen to
What the hell, Sasaki is a beast.
All of this is so good. They can play thats for sure.
WHAT A BAND! Drums and bass are sick!!
Some refine Mahavishnu´s flavour here btw; with Billy´s power influence..AWESOME
DVD「the way of CASIOPEA」(ジェネオン)の一番最初にこの部分が収録されています。
That's jaw-dropping...
god, to have been in that room for this
one best band of future jazz funk of the century
Tetsuo Sakurai... awesome...

That was "Blazing"...reminds me of a video I owned in the 1980's "Takanaka" Goblin story...

Amazingly energetic and skillful!!
WILD&ROUGH!
Tetsuo Sakurai is a fucking beast
Can’t get enough of that bass
Drummers are gonna sweat alot doing this
Beautiful
that’s FIRE
Digging the walk in bass line
Wow...this is beyond the the unbelievable!!
