      Jeremy I have a question, would you consider the Yamaha KX-8
      Usb midi Keyboard Weighted 88 key in this best 88 key for under $300 ??

    • @Matt-zp1jn
      @Matt-zp1jn Před rokem +1

      I may have a chance to get a used Yamaha (but in good condition) KX-8 usb midi keyboard weighted 88 key for $225-250. I would use it to learn piano, and also to play midi samples, tones, beats, off it with computer and/or midi synth hardware etc.
      Do you think this keyboard would rank highly in your 88 Key midi keyboard for under $300 category even tho it is used?
      Thanks, appreciate your channel and wisdom! 😊👍

    Thank you so much for this review! I've got the Yamaha E373 last year after watching your video on it, and it's great for beginners like myself but only has 61 keys so I figured out I prefer to mainly play classical music with a piano sound so I want the 88 keyboard for that and this one sounds perfect!

    Another great thing to remember about this piano versus Roland Go 88 - not only is it 1kg lighter, but it also takes AA batteries as opposed to D cells. 6 D cell batteries will weigh 1kg or over, whereas six AA batteries are considerably lighter. So the weight different between the Korg Liano and Roland Go 88 closer to 2kg if you are using batteries.

    An excellent video review, as usual! The one thing I would miss is an onboard strings/piano layered sound. Otherwise, it's impressive for the price. But I'm loving my Yamaha PSR-E473 with the microphone input. I really wish I would have gotten the PSR-EW425 with the 76 keys, though.

    I agree with your assessment about keyboards with hundreds of sounds most people will never use. It's a marketing tool for manufacturers to make people want to buy theirs, and costs them little to nothing to add the sounds. Also great point about not having built in Bluetooth, as almost every device today is Bluetooth capable. It seems a blend of Casio, Korg, and Yamaha features would make an ideal product, that we will probably never see at an affordable price. This sure seems to be a compelling product. I just wish their software would work with 10" Kindle Fire HD tablets. Having to purchase an iPad to work with the software doubles the price.

    • @jjacob25101
      @jjacob25101 Před rokem +5

      Agreed. But the iPad Mini 6 256G would be a great thing to have for music and many other things. Many tech reviewers say it is the best all around iPad, as the size makes it easy to handle, but a screen big enough to be easy to view and use. Some traded in their iPad Pros and are happy, but most already have a MacBook Pro, too. So especially for home studio use, this is great for the price and would fit what I need to have a nice 88 key instrument at home with my 2 61 note keyboards, the Roland Go:Keys and Casiotone CT-S1, my Roland JD-Xi synth/vocorder and my Yamaha PSS-A50.
      When I get a Pro level keyboard, I will use it at church, and also a steal for $1200. The Roland RD 88 that has everything wanted in a professional level stage piano and has 3000 voices, and many things other digital pianos does not have.
      The bottom line is there something for everyone at different budgets. And this Korg Liano is definitely a gem.

On My keyboard, it comes with 2 built in speakers at 20 watts each, and measuring 4 inch sub and tweeter, so I'm looking for a better external speakers for my keyboard, so I'm writing to ask your opinion on what I can get for no more than 200 bucks. And good enough for the Pipe Organ sounds and choirs. I want to know what size the speaker woofer needs to be or whether or not I need an amp? I prefer stereo studio or similar. Also, should I buy a subwoofer for the Pipes low sounds? Thanks for your time Jeremy, I try to watch a lot of your videos. Terry

    Early times for wishes for a second version, but I hope Korg would add a good stage piano and a Wurly e-piano sound to a Liano II and please, please, Korg, add split & layering to an updated version plus two good bass voices for the split function. The lack of split is a show-stopper for me.

    Awesome review @JeremySee! I'm super curious if the keys are "true" full size (164-165mm octave width) as opposed to most unweighted keyboards (Casiotone, PSR-E) which have narrower keys (159-160mm). And how does the main piano sound on the Liano compare to the PSR-EW425's main piano?

    Great review! I am planning to get one of these keyboards for busking and casual use round the house and vacations etc (I already own a Yamaha P515 as my main piano which I'd take out for more serious gigs etc). With this keyboard buying some awesomely lightweight - do you know of a similarly lightweight keyboard stand? Since it only weighs 6kg most of the X stands out there are overkill and I am looking for something maybe which is maybe plastic rather than metal to be able to take out busking with me on the bus etc? Lightest X stand I could see was around 3kg which is half the weight of the keyboard itself. I was looking something maybe only 1kg.

    I picked one up a few months ago. The main reason being that my arthritis forced me to find a lighter action 88 key instrument. I like it overall, but do wish that the internal reverb was better. I’m using an app through my iPad to rectify that issue.

    If this keyboard had pitchbend and mudulation wheels and a standard MIDI out, I am sure music producers would be buying multiple units for their studios.

    I don't particularly like this new trend to put features in some app ( the new model from Yamaha pulls the same trick ). What if they decide to discontinue some model , which they eventually always do ? That would render the entire thing useless . From what I understand Yamaha is even removing features from older models to promote their new shiny toy + app .

    Jermy thanks for another great video, Something I didn't hear you talking about registration keys, are there any registration save slots keys for setting in the Liano? Are there any other ways to save the setting (program and such)? I understand is not really needed for the default paino options, but if you use the software it will be useful to have this save option, dose the software come with registration keys in the software?
    Also, it will be great if you could make a video in the future showing how to use the Liano bundled software that comes with the Liano.

  • @SeekingTheLoveThatGodMeans7648

    The Liano looks and sounds nice for a small unit. It would be nicer yet if it had an optional stand with three pedals to go with it, but for bare bones and portable use it looks wonderful. Looking around, I saw it being sold with Knox stand and bench.

  • @winterheat

    The thing I am concerned about is whether the black or white keys near the felt area is ok to press down easily. The Casio CT-S1, LK-S450, and even PX-S7000 do not pass this test. When playing Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement, my thumb and little finger are both on black keys, and I need to use the middle or ring finger to press another black key, so I am force to press it down near the felt area. On those 3 pianos above, it was very difficult.

  • @KahlanMontejose-ce1vb

    Hi Jeremy,
    I am looking for my first keyboard. I played back in high school and i am 40 now 😅 so technically i am really a beginner to playing piano (again). I like to write poetry & tried some lyrics that i wanna make it a song, mostly inspirational. Hence the urge now to learn how to play. I wanna try. 🙈🤭 i am torn between this korg liano and casio ct-s300 or casion ctx-3000. But this korg liano has DAW feature and free app subscription for 3 months i think and that really caught my eye which makes me lean towards this one. I am on a budget A$500 max. As I don’t wanna shell out too much yet but i also like where i have a room to level up with this keyboard. I have been looking at your videos, they are fantastic and helpful but i’d still ask for your advice. It will really mean alot me 🙏☺️🥰 all the best and keep the videos coming 😍😍😍😊😊

    I've ordered my first ever digital piano Roland FP-10 which will be my foray into weighted action keys, and also the only digital piano my music store in my vicinity had(btw music stores here in my area is very scarce) i found the sound really very dynamic with such depth. How does this compare to FP-10?! If this was an option, would've gone for this.

    Super video thanks. Just one, probably basic, question. How well does this keyboard work as a USB-MIDI keyboard with, say, Logic Pro, to trigger all kinds of non-keyboard sounds and instruments. Does it compare well to the Arturias, MAudios and Novations of the world, in terms of sound. Not talking about MIDI features, mainly wondering if the triggered sounds will sound as good. Thanks in advance.
