I supported the narration and advise given to k1 from alahji Basiru that fatai ayinla olupery and kunle ayannowo should be higherly compensated.fatai olupery is an hard working drumer [lead sakara) on k1 stage, even ever before kunle, ayanlowo,he has been with k1 since the founding date to date,I was born and brought up in lagos island( itafaji, obadina street/ gbamigbose Street.) oluperry has contributed positively to the development and general public acceptability of k1 music.perry has been with wasiu anifowose when public knows ki as 2nd barrister, talazo fuji organisation etc. alahji fatai ayinla olupery and kunle Ayannowo should be compensated among other. May allah contd to provide, protect and increase kwanm 1 wealth. olamatti from Abuja.

I am not trying to justify what ever treatment this man might have gotten when he was with Barrister but still these view questions needed an answer because Yoruba said '' Bi ika ba ro ejo Ika ko ni yoo da" was it 200Naira 300Naira this man was collecting in all the oversea trip he went with Barrister? what was the value of 50Naira,200Naira ,300Naira he claimed he was collecting in early 80's when he was with Barrister compere with the 3500Naira or 7000Naira he was collecting in 90's when he was with Shina Peters? haven't said this Mr. Adeleke confirmed that Barrister bought a car for Ayansola who was the drum leader then to me I see this as an incentive for Ayansola to encourage him to do more who Know what Barrister is planning for Mr. Bashy Adeleke as incentive to also encourage him just as he did to the two lead drummer before him that is Kamoru Ayansola and Baba Oyadolu because we had it on a good authority that Barrister also bought a car for Oyadolu and even took some of them for Hajj, Mr.Bashy will agree with me that not many musician as at that time provided such an incentive for any of their boys furthermore I think Mr.Bashy also have his own forth on the issue between himself and Barristers wife in Atlanta if I were Mr.Bashy I would have reported what transpires between me and his wife to the man who took me to Atlanta i.e. Barrister and see how he would react to it rather then keeping salient as if everything is normal finally in my opinion from the story Mr.Bashy told on how he joined Barrister band I think Barrister tried for him his best may not be good enough for Mr.Bashy but for allowing him to prove himself from just a helper boy to a lead drummer I think Barrister deserve kudos for that lastly I disagree with Mr.Bashy on the issue of consolidation record produced by Wasiu Ayinde, Consolidations record did not retired Barrister nor Kolinton because both of them recorded many hit records after Wasiu Ayinde consolidation record.my advise the drummer should try to make best use of their little recourses and I encourage the singer to also do more to encourage their boy as Yourba say Yi yin ni oun mu ori wu .

Agbaletu, I love your introductory statement 100% especially because, as I have said in previous comments, the love that we have for our music superstars often do not allow us to hear about their mistakes. They are/were human beings, fallible human beings and prone to mistakes, whether deliberate or in error. Information about their past errors should be eye openers, not destruction or condemnation. People talking now too have their own errors which they try to hide, or manipulate, posterity is there to judge all of them. In all, this historical archive is a welcome development. Thank you so much, Agbaletu, God bless you more!

How can someone singing Barristers cover better than Barrister. Ayuba changed the way fuji was being perceived...overall shina peters are ayuba were the new juju and fuji baby face..wasiu came with consolidation after those two men mr Johnson and sir shina changed the new generation game... Barrister is the tree behind every fuji artist success .he dictates the pace and they all embellish his song.s..i give you example..ijo fuji by ayuba had already been mentioned in Barrister s .dimensional fuji. Ayuba was just creative about it.. Ayinde wasiu sang his first album via barrristers series..till date he sings Barrister and people who dont know think he was the original composer ..so Respect the legend Ba rrister and Baba kebe..E ma fi Barrister we onifuji kan gbogbo yin le mo ni Alhaji Agba..

Many of people commented here were sentimental, the fact that we love barrister and his music does not mean a certain release from someone else can not give him musical threat, if you must hear the truth Wasiu Ayinde gave musical threat to his senior colleagues began from talazo 84 consolidation 93 & legacy 96. Especially Tala 84 everyone of them change their style, that made barrister sang Fuji disco. So it's technically wise to observe a colleague music and do something different in Ur coming release. Barrister was a professional musician when he heard Wasiu Ayinde classical style in the 90s he changed pattern of music and that kept his relevance, I remember one of my uncle then said barrister has lost his standard unknowing to them that his following the trend. Barrister was the best Fuji musician on his time but agree with me that a lot of album not only from Wasiu Ayinde gave him threat, he once said Pele Pele lere mi , Alhaji agba o, ibi tawa Bere Fuji de , Kole Kole Ko si fere wa Mo . Eni to nbo leyin lo lere Sa. But many of us for the fact that we love a musician we are ready to immortalised them unjustly

Consolidation is very significant in Fuji music's history. SAB acknowledged the wizardry-like arrangement and composition entailed in Consolidation.
Tracks like "Show colour," which the legendary Lagbaja used in his 1st mainstream album. Another track is "Ayinde (Bobo) No Go Die, and many more." Consolidation was a total departure from how Fuji music used to be made.
It's a poor choice of words for Adeleke, but many insiders know what he meant.
SAB is still relevant, even after death and he'll be forever, so is GKA.

Nice history but many petty talk. Barrister opened an enterprise since 1958, invested and worked to grow it. You joined in 1980 and want to determine how finance will be managed, impossible, same with the corporate world. At first it was a privilege to join the band, later everyone will claim right.
He wanted to paint Sir Shina Peters better than SAB but Agbaletu did a good job. They also paid for vehicle and resigned em mass, WHY.

This is an incredible analysis of the status quo in music band. Nigeria syndrome of authoritarianism and autocratic leadership affects every facet of Nigeria including entertainment. I hope Adeyanju is paying his crew members what’s commensurable with the work they do. Nigeria is a mixed of ignorance, exploitation, corruption and lawlessness. If the government can regulate this sector that can ameliorate the exploitation of musical band members.

Dele, it is time we help these drummers to create a pathway for their future. Drums are the core ingredient of any form of music especially in Yoruba culture. There are many lovers of talking drums out there, Alafin of Oyo demonstrated this passion when he was alive.
Over the years, we have witnessed individuals single-handedly create and make money by making a brand for their musical talent. Saxophonists in Nigeria and overseas have done that (Kenny G, Kunle Ajayi), Aritos Band in Nigeria is also an example of an individual who used his musical talent to form a band. It is time for talking drummers to form a band with others and put together a drums Alujo compilation for us fans of Apala drums. Creating their own CZcams channel will allow them to showcase their skills and opportunities for any Juju or Fuji band to solicit for their business. CZcams is paying very well for content creators. Message for Rasaki, Kunle and Bashiru get some omele drummers and showcase your talent individually, post a 2 to 5-minute video on CZcams, and let's enjoy your God-given talent. Stop talking and let your "TALKING DRUM" do the talking. We love your talent.

Most of you fans are just blind. In your own book Barrister might be the best. But let me tell you, most Christians especially those outside Lagos don't know Barrister's songs. It was Killington's Ijo Yoyo and others that introduced Christians to Fuji. Consolidation was big among non Muslim...but not bigger than Ijo yoyo.
Barrister is only big among the Muslims.

I love this interview but I disagree with you that Kwam1 retired Barrister & Kollington. No, he didn't. The barrister passed on & Kollington is still alive. It's a fallacy to say such, maybe because he had issues with Barrister as he said earlier. Barrister & Kollington are legends. The man gave so much insight but ended poorly with the retirement claims. We are happy for kwam1 but he himself will never claim he retired those generals. Never, it's an acidic nonsense.

During this interview, this man contrasted 2 organizations for us (Ayinde Barrister and Shina Peters). He revealed what ended his favorable Shina's style of leadership. They dumped him and left him on an island to fend for himself.
The repeated theme in the stories of some of these drummers is the way they join the band. Most of them were not hired, they were just adopted into the band in what seems to be a favor to them for being part of a big organization. They were not treated as full members of the band. Babatunde Oyadolu and Ayansola are both lead drummers, Ayinde barrister treated them as lead drummers of his organization by blessing them with 504 at one point in their career.
These experiences expose the flaws in how we are treating people in all trades and work-related transactions (music, mechanic, carpenter, and all apprenticeship programs) in Nigeria. We need to be mindful of the time spent and compensate accordingly. The younger drummers should learn and value their art. Negotiate and re-negotiate as often as needed. DO NOT BE CARRIED AWAY BY THE FAME AND SIZE OF THE BAND.
