It's not a stupid american accent, its called being from liverpool, and then singing in that accent, you have misunderstood what an american accent is.
Ok. There's the misunderstanding. What I meant by "stupid american accent" was a clumsy, fake american accent. I don't have a problem with american accents (I quite like most of them). What I don't like is british people trying to sound american. Particularly when it's someone like Miles Kane or Richard Ashcroft who both portray themselves as down to earth, honest and 'real'. The rolling stones are alright when they do it though.
