Been watching SNL since the early 80's, and I know folks get nostalgic over previous casts, but Hader, Armisen, Sudeikis and Forte being on at the same time was definitely a highpoint in the show's history. 2012 even had Andy Samberg and Kristen Wiig. After the first four mentioned left around the same time, the show has been subpar. Hopefully they are able to score some real talent soon.
i grew obsessed with this crew after watching barry and some other bill hader things. def love the old stuff but this group never fails to make me laugh.
80's....same here. That cast you mentioned was/is gold. I always laugh at people when they claim "it used to be funny"....it's always funny, and always not funny. We attach ourselves to our memories. I watch every season, and I love it. I absolutely love KITH, but when Lorne brought in Bruce and Mark, it didn't work. Love the new season of Kids, tho. True to form.
Bill Hader alone, undercelebrated genius of comedy, Fred Armisen alone is reportedly a straight weirdo and less than pleasant outside of his characters which just makes him more like the genius savant comedy...put em both together? And all other co-written works have def created their own "brand" / distinctive style unlike anyy other's. DocNow was soo goood i want mooreee!
He's doing a Richard Ayode impression. And its spot on. And I'm pretty sure cause he talked about him in an interview but he doesn't know him. And Richard himself is a British comic and is known for his deadpan. It's like pure British humour and here is Bill Hader another legend. American peak comedy. It's like two universes in collision for me and i can't describe what it makes me feel. It's like they're on two opposite spectrum but somehow crazily enough they subtlety know of each other or maybe they've met at the baftas. My god. I can't take it. Melting golden pot of comedy.
It’d be cool if they payed tribute to more of the newer SNL cast members. Like, Adam Sandler isn’t even _that_ good of a cast member, he’s just older, and more popular. (IMO) Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, Cecily Strong, Kate McKinnon, I think at a certain point these people definitely deserve a tribute. Cecily and Kate left too recently for that, but I think Bill and Kristen should get something like that sometime sooner.
You know you're a living legend when you have a career worth of great work but there's still plenty left to come. Definitely one of my favorites of all time.

I've seen that so many times and I never even realized it was a Richard Ayoade impression until you said that. You're right, it's absolutely spot on! I can scroll down and it sounds exactly like him. I would love for them to meet, I love them both.
I've been binging Barry lately. Bill Hader is so damn versatile. I can see hints of the psychopath character in some of these clips. I can see Hader turning out like Tom Hanks. Started out as a comedic actor, which for some reason isn't considered as talented as a dramatic actor, which isn't true. He's just great in everything I've seen him in. I'd watch something just because Bill Hader was in it.
I didn't like Hader much at first. Especially that Laser Cat nonsense. Thought he'd last a couple seasons, be in a couple bad movies, some crappy TV shows no one watched...boy was I wrong! Last season of Barry was my favorite btw and I can't wait for the next (maybe last?) one!
I will always cherish 80s & 90s humor, when we could poke fun, we could laugh @ each other, @ ourselves ... 💕 SNL, Hader, Armisen, Sudeikus, Whig, Poler, & on & on.
Bill Hader has to be one of the most underrated actors/comedian/writers out there in the entertainment industry. Almost every character he touches ends being so much funnier than the character should ever be. Tropic Thunder him and Tom Cruise stole the show even though they're in it for like 15 minutes. Wouldn't be surprised to see him and some other SNL members with him turn into really good show creators/writers and eventually directors as well
“Who’s gonna believe you?!” 😂😂 Still gets me every time
