Sick Riffs is a Guitar World video series designed to help guitarists affected by the coronavirus. Self-isolating players around the world have each filmed a lesson where they teach you one of their own guitar riffs, up close and personal. If you dig the lesson, we encourage you to buy music and merch from the artist or stream their music.

This guy is such a beast live. I appreciate this
I can second this! If they weren’t having fun they sure did a good job making it look like they were!
His also a beast to watch now. Got no idea about guitars but 12 min in by now and its pure awesome. Just wanna hear him play. fucking awesome to see and listen to! +10 for the hat :)
I've gotta be honest i discovered volbeat during lockdown and been obsessed ever since.
Efin awesome!
Me too mate. I heard a couple of their songs come up on a random spotify playlist. I looked into them and have been playing them non stop. 🤘🤘
Check out Mario Jane Kelly by Vol
I discovered them back in 2014 when I first heard _Lola Montez_ and I've been hooked ever since. Welcome to the Guitar Gangsters (that’s my unofficial name for Volbeat's fanbase.)
Jacob. About time, hun....😉VOLBEAT ROCKS! I was presented Volbeat 3-4 years ago by my ex... My kids dad... Since then I haven't missed one single concert when they are here in Norway 🇳🇴. I f you haven't seen them live in concert, that Has to be your next goal. I can't wait til they come back to Norway. But most of all, I would LOOOOVE to see them in Copenhagen, Denmark.... That, I can imagine will be the best live performance ever. Their home base... 😎🎼🎤🎸🤩. ROCK ON WITH VOLBEAT! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
@@jacobdaugherty5336 That was one of my first fav songs by Volbeat, actually. I LOVE Mary Jane.... Just LOVE IT! ❤️
OMG. This is sick. Huge fan. I love when great guitarists share knowledge of respect to the music he stands behind.
Rob is an amazing guitar player and producer.
I appreciate how Rob has the speaking volume and amp volume at the same level. Usually you have to turn it up to hear them talk then turn it down while they're playing.
Rob is an amazing guitarist. The level of detail and enthusiasm he showed during the video was exceptional. Volbeat is the best rock band playing today.
Would love to be his neighbor! Imagine hearing him practice all the time. Pure gold!
Tons of respect for Rob, Volbeat became a lot better band when he became a permanent member!!
Exactly my sentiments, and it's made the music world a much better place
And now he is leaving 😭💔
Wow! He's actually telling you the note he's hitting instead of the string and fret. Awesome guitarist.
Most musicians talk like that, because that's how you communicate to other players: "this is in E, and the chorus we go to F#" etc etc.
It's the CZcamsrs that are teaching people with zero theory/note knowledge, that talk like this: "Ok, 3rd string, 4th fret". LOL.
@@lookmanostrings Most tutorials are aimed at beginners/intermediate players who most likely don't have the all the notes memorized, thus making calling out the string and fret a much more effective method
@@lookmanostrings it’s when u start writing in alternate tunings that it gets tricky
@@lookmanostrings thats because not everything revolves around your musical knowledge
KISS poster in the background. Love it!
He has taste.KISS may not have been a very technical band.But.Some classic stuff still.Just ask Rob!
I just saw Volbeat live for the first time... Rob is an absolute monster guitar player!
This is awesome! Great to see how he enjoys himself playing, even if it's not in front of thousands of people :D
I wish there were more of these
I love this song! He’s such a nice guy too, seen them twice & can’t wait to see them again 🤟😬❤️
Roberts seems like he would be the coolest guitar teacher ever, really catchy and energetic with all the gestures and head movement.
That chorus just sits in a perfect place, love it. What a voice, what cool riffs and chord arrangement...
My absolute favorite song, love everything about it.
Thank you very much, Mr. Rob!
Just saw these guys last night! What an amazing show! Something about the riffs and songs is like mean as fuck and feel good music at the same time! One of my all time favorite bands!
He even mentioned Thin Lizzy!!! He has roots, not to mention he is actually saying the note he's playing.
I love your work with Volbeat but I must thank you very much for lighting the fire under Anthrax many years back. Charlie said you were one of the people that were instrumental in getting him to play aggressive again. Thx pimp!!!
Volbeat ist einfach die Tollste Band, und diese Riffs sind mega Krass👌🤘
Da hast du recht! 👌
Rob still kicking ass !!!!!!! Shaking out the hands, wiping the sweat means your not on stage enough. Stay healthy, stay safe.
Only just discovered volbeat, love the band......👍👍
Thanks brother! Can’t wait till you guys get out again! Was going to be at Independence Mo show but alas, Corona 😢 Come to Wichita!!!! We got a new ballpark that needs a killer show!

Yesterday was a stellar day, I take my son to baseball practice and when we get in my truck Leviathan is playing 🤘When practice is over and we get in my truck, Hangman’s Body Count is playing 🤘Are you kidding me, somebody is living right,,,, must be my kid!
Awesome , Paint it Red! Keep rocking!!!
Education at it's finest🤘🏻
Love you Rob
I was going to the concert i Bergen NO in June 2020,when this video was posted. That concert was ofcourse postponed until June 2021.Now postponed til June 2022 and I am so looking foreward to this. And now I can tell my friends how to play that song on guitar.....Can't wait :-)
great song,love volbeat!!!
This is SO MUCH FUN to play! If y'all get with Rob again, tell him thanks!
Volbeat is a truly inspired band, but seeing amazing musicians teach their own songs is rather eye opening. They teach it as if you're already a trained musician. I'm still on 3 5 7 there's no way I'd pass a music school entrance exam.
My favorite band
Rob es uno de los mejores guitarristas del mundo. Parece un gran tipo además
Thanks for the video :)
Wow cool Rob 💖💖
Wow Man...you can feel it!
That was fun!
He is an awesome guitarist!
einfach nur geil was er für eine Freude beim spielen hat :)
Thank you!!!
You had inspired me to pick up my guitar again. Thank you.
Going to have to get just for men beard color too lol. Think he just a touch older then me lol. Looks good go. Rock on brother
Me too. Love it.
That was helpful! Thanks!
How cool was that !!!
Such a decent guy, love your music!! cheers
Awesome 😉👍
Awesome
All about the 💜thank you 🙏
It was great having Rob guest appear on our record back in 2009! Eddie Wohl days.
Wow. Must have been memorable!....Rock on!.
I saw them play at Aftershock here in Sacramento in October, this is the most professional sounding band I've ever heard, he killed it that night 🤘
You are so blessed, lucky!! You carry that resonance now, cuz you took it in deep, eh?? 👍💗
He's so cool. What good dude.
YUP! He seems like a really GOOD dude....soulwise..... Not many left of them, in todays society. He seems to be one of the rear kind, don't he?....Rock on!
You are great
SO cool thanks so much....................
Seems like he has a great passion for what he does. Very under rated and looks like he has a lot of fun playing guitar
It's in his blood. His dad was a highly regarded classical singer, I believe
The lesson is great. The song is BAD ASS. This is new to me. But I just fell in love. Great melodic stuff, just wish that great solo was a bit longer (it's just a tease lol). Thanks for this upload GW. BTW +1 for the KISS poster on the wall! :-) Will checking these guys out.
go ROB!
Hope those riffs get well soon.
Just saw him live in Hannover. Damn he‘s a really, really good Guitar-Player. Nice guy.
I have seen this video over and over and over and..... You know what I mean, I suspect 😂😂😂
I totally love how specific he is when explaining. He would absolutely be a great guitar teacher for my 11 year old son. My son have been ALL Guitar , espesially AC/DC, since he wore diapers... 😂 😂 😂. Now he take classes to learn, but I know he has stage fright, unfortunately. I SO hope he get over it, cuz the guitar 🎸 teacher even brags of him. I know now he's got talent. Could you imagine Rob Caggiano teaching him???? Wow... That Wold just have been AWESOME! 👍❤️😊
Fucking amazing dude he will so be missed ❤❤
Ha, ha, KISS poster behind..saw them both on Tons of Rock 2019, Oslo
MORE!
That’s a sweet axe
Miss ya in anthrax.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Daaaamn this is awesome!!!!! Thank for this bro🤙🤙🤙🍺

Ive never heard of his band, but this is cool
Seriously? I LOVE their sound.Thick.Beefy.Crunchy.
Listen to Mr.Speed on Rock and Roll Over by KISS.Rob likes KISS and I totally hear it in Volbeat songs. As well as MANY other bands and guitarists.
My favorite on this album. The God zila or aquaman them song.. that's how I see here it..
Nice tutorial.
ps. I love the fact that Guitar World has 666k subs.
Очень круто !!!!!!

That sustaaaaaaaaaaain!!!! 😍
hermosa guitarra
👍
Like how the bridge goes with the vocals though
👏🤘👍
this song absolutely needs to be played in a final fantasy game while summoning leviathan!
That Nails shirt.
Incredible, you should do the samething with Doc Holiday and The devil's. Thank's
So cool! Can anyone point me in the direction of the correct tab?? Thanks
I hate he left the band! They were so tight!! He is one of the best guitarists live!! Hope they can find a replacement as good as he is!!
What's the pedal called that makes the "crazy" sound mentioned around 20:04? He calls it one of his crazy pedals. My guess is some sort of a gate effect pedal, possibly similar to what the Boss BF-3 flanger can do on Gate mode. If he is using something else, I'd love to know what it is. It's such a sick sound!
Rob "Riffmeister" Caggiano
Rob is a epic guitarist and his career goes way back to the band Anthrax.
Best guitarist in this Moment!❤🤘🔝🍹👏🔥🔝
I just got into Volbeat and Rob is a killer player! Very disappointed he left the band recently. Hoping the new guy can fill those huge shoes.
What kind of pedal do you use for this guitar?
How the hell does he not break strings as hard as he picks. I really like his playing
Qual pedal usa pra tocar essa música?
I have no idea how to play guitar, but ill watch Rob any day of the week. Im a thirsty chick when it comes to him. 🖤
I play guitar and even though I can't explain what I'm doing....I know what I'm doing
I’m not a novice or beginner or anything near considered guitar player but I’m dying to learn this song via electric guitar…
Amazing how you guys use major keys and can still keep it heavy.
