The scorch shot actually copies your last shot on taunt, so you can spam infinite crits with it as long as your previous shot was a crit, just spam taunt.
This actually works and I had no idea. That is so unbelievably stupid

You can hit people through spawn doors and some thin walls by calling medic while doing the taunt kill. I’m pretty sure Shounic or somebody made a video explaining how the calling medic animation resets where the game thinks soldier’s right hand is

The reason Valve made the Rainblower do reduced damage for every additional player despite the equalizer taunt doing massive damage to multiple enemies is because the rainblower taunt can be spammed whereas the equalizer taunt kills you if you use (or at least, it's supposed to).
And if you spam it with a bunch of friends like I did, you can even crash the server or your game! If you have enough people doing it, I had at least 15 people doing it at the same time sort of on a 2fort server. I crashed out and then my friend crashed out, it was hilarious and we made sure a lot of people got the mass hysteria achievement that day lol

I love that there's certain very specific cases where taunt kills are useful, like stunning an ubered player and getting after-round kills, but the taunts are so slow and easy to see coming, it doesn't break the game balance at all. It's just a fun little extra, like the Kritzkrieg's minor self-heal taunt.

there's actually some cool tech related to the scorch shot taunt
if you get a random crit with the scorch shot any taunt after it will be a guaranteed crit until you shoot again. it will remain after death and you can shoot with your other weapons
The reason why Rainblower taunt doesn't kill everyone while Equalizer does, is because Equalizer wasn't meant to be spammable. It was meant to kill you on taunt, so every time it's a gamble whether you live or not. Rainblower taunt would be current equalizer without a need to bug the game.
I've only ever gotten two real tauntkills off without spamming. The first was fatfingering G as a pyro only to end up doming some poor scout trying to run up for a meatshot. The second was after bumping into a cloak and dagger spy hiding in a tiny inlet as a demoknight, realizing he physically could not move past me, and deciding in an instant to rub salt in the wound

I already knew about the insane range of the pootis pow, and I've even done some stupid shit with it myself, but seeing the stunned sniper have the taunt icon appear above his head and then just slide forward was fucking amazing

for getting cl_showpos lineups, top tip is that by default if you holt left-Alt, moving your mouse will move your character instead of your aim. so you can precicely position yourself better than just using WASD

I got an air shot taunt kill with the Heavy within my first one hundred hours of playing TF2 without looking for it. I was at a Hightower pub and simply made a taunt kill in the distance and it got a trolldier flying around.
My biggest regret still is not recording it.

I have made an alias script that changes the bindings of keys 1 to 6 from the normal weapon slot commands to taunt commands for each of the 6 slots, when shift is pressed and back to normal when released. This allows some buggy taunt behavior, such as after doing any T-pose glitch, you can taunt with those direct taunt command.
It probably helps with the stun avoidance glitch, I'll see if I can post it here.
Edit: It doesn't hide the taunt. But you keep your T-pose at the end!

Very informative video! Even though I've been messing with taunts for years and making compilations of taunt kills, I still learned some new stuff here!
I think you could've also discussed how taunt attacks are affected by damage resistances. Examples:
If a taunt attack is coming from a ranged weapon, a heavy with the fists of steel can survive one attack. The equalizer taunt can be survived with barely 20hp if you're on max overheal with the battalion equipped (330hp at max overheal). The buff from the battalion also makes it possible to survive the explosion once if you're close to full hp. The vaccinator can also be used to block incoming damage from non-melee attacks.
With the battalions buff active the taunt does 208 self damage
Something you don't realize about the box taunts, is that they kill *everything* within that box; go onto itemtest and spawn as many dummy bots as you want and it'll delete all of them as long as they are within that box.
The contracker bug can also be done by having one loadout A equipped with it, and loadout B unequipped with the contracker. Go to settings, find the "Switch to Loadout A/B/C/D" binds, bind your keys and voila. You can now switch between two loadouts, one with the contracker and one without.

While I don’t have a clip of it, I was playing Badwater on Uncletopia as Heavy and got an air shot taunt kill on a demo who was flying behind us with the sticky jumper. Even he was shocked when it happened and it was the peak of Uncletopia for me

Did you know, that using the taunt kill as soldier, switching to the rocket jumper mid taunt will make you invincible to the explosion, but you still damage the enemy.
That was fixed in 2011
For the Kamikaze taunt kill through spawn doors you don’t actually have to call medic. I think on certain thin gates if you angle yourself just right you can get the explosion hitbox through the door and you will live

I love the soldier escape plan taunt, I have so many spots I've found throughout the years. One cool thing you can do with it is if you have the Lumbricus Lid cosmetic item, taunt killing with the escape plan plays a hallelujah sound effect from Worms. Doesn't really help but it's funny

I'm the one who found the equalizer voice line glitch, here's a trick shounic didn't mention in his video about it: it's actually better to use "nice shot" instead of "medic", because the thumbs up animation makes your right hand stick out further than the medic call animation.

you can actually do the equalizer taunt kill through certain spawn doors without even calling for medic. it's only doable through certain spawn doors (barnblitz, badwater, thunder mountain immediately come to mind), and the angle is MUCH tighter, but it's doable.
also i think im going to avoid playing the sniper class in that one specific spot on borneo for a while lol

I'm sure others have pointed this out by now, but because the huntsman stun is faster than the heavy pow (and I'm fairly sure it's faster even than the time between the stun and the kill from the huntsman itself), that enables two huntsman snipers to simultaneously stun each other with their taunt kills in a sort of mutually assured destruction.
Also I thought I remembered hearing that the order the rainblower taunt hits players is connected to the order they joined the server, but I'm not sure.
I think Valve patched the Huntsman taunt chain, I forget whether the 2nd or 3rd stab wins.
it's possible but I don't see that patch mentioned on the wiki. Then again, the bug showcase video has people in the comments saying it was fixed, so maybe it did happen.

I think the way the rainblower taunt determines order is likely either distance, player order (order that players joined the server), or a combination of both.
I thought it would be distance too, but in testing it it didn't seem like that was the case at all, sometimes it would look like distance but sometimes it'd be seemingly random. Player join order might make sense but I've never tested that

The reason you might not die to the Huntsman taunt is inertia. Getting hit by it does not instantly freeze you in place, but removes your ability to control your movement. So there are a few frames where you move a little and may be able to avoid the instakill.
11:00 rainblower propably checks player entry to server timestamps to check who gets hit first.
it's not entry time stamps all the player data is saved in order of who has joined first so when it goes down the list of players it always starts at the first to join the server, then the next and so on to see if they were hit.

Unless it was fixed, the huntsman taunt isn't just beat by the pootis pow. As you pointed out, the huntsman stun is faster than the kill, so you can counter the huntsman with a huntsman, however they can also counter it in return, endlessly.
Well the taunt I use the most is the Sniper's bows taunt, they are good in countering demoknights.

One of my favorite things to do as a huntsman sniper is to challenge another sniper to a ''Stab Duel''. On the count of 3 both snipers start spamming their taunt kill, the length of these duels can last from a few seconds to about a minute or longer. The entire time people nearby just hear 2 snipers saying ''Stab stab stab stab stab stab stab stab stab stab-'' while you an the other sniper stare at each other in the stun animation.
I actually tried to do this with a friend once but for some reason we couldn't get it to last more than one taunt animation as one of us would die no matter if we were both mashing the taunt button. Not sure what we're doing wrong or what.

Actually, since the stun of the huntsman taunt comes out so fast it can be used to counter an enemy’s huntsman taunt kill if you start it quickly. You can stun them before they finish and create the kill hitbox while you yourself are stunned.

Fun facts. A fully overhealed Battalion's Backup Soldier can survive the Kamikaze taunt, because it does exactly 300 self damage.
The Scorch Shot taunt is the only taunt in the game that makes little to no sound. Meaning it’s also actually one of the easier ones to get someone with if they don’t notice you.
There is a much easier setup to turning the taunt in a different direction than the one you are facing. If you have multiple taunts equipped, you get the menu to choose which taunt to use as you taunt, and for some reason this gives you a short delay to aim your actual taunt direction more accurately. You can very easily hit 80-90% of the time if you use this technique.
Fun fact: You do not need a bind for the contracker, you only need to press your contracker button to open then immediately close your contracker then taunt as fast as possible, I've done this trick multiple times consistantly.
What’s good with the taunt for rainblower is it doesn’t stop from death, so once jet packed in to try and drop the medic, there’s like 5 ppl there, I taunt JUST before I die and get a 100 dmg on the med and kill other ppl

The Pootis Pow is literally just the Charge Rifle from Titanfall 2
altho similar in terms of technicality (hitscan, charge up time,..), the tititanfall charge rifle beam actually has width hitbox, which in turn make it cannot hit thru pixel or small gap of some size unlike the potis pow, that somehow make potis pow more powerful in a sense.

1. the "cl_first_person_uses_world_model" is for checking only
2. why "cyoa_pda_open 1; wait 350" instead "cyoa_pda_open 1; wait 5" are because your classes just put it back instead holding it and make you "stuck" in that pose for a while
3. explains 2 a bit, the "wait 350" is depends of which classes that have faster or slower taking the contracker. 350 is Soldier, Heavy, and Sniper animation lengths
The turning glitch is actually pretty easy. As long as you dont turn too far and dont move, your taunt will always be offset from its animation.
Fun fact: you can switch weapons when doing the shorch shot kill taunt but the scoech bullet wont fire.

I've noticed a few things didn't get mentioned.
You can spam the huntsman on someone who stunned you, this can result in both stunning each other repeatedly if timed right.
The spinning disjointed hitbox can also just be flicked to do the same trick yet still be consistent (but might need some aim practice)

you can hide your taunt with the contracker by simply opening and closing it really quickly before taunting, no special bind needed
