He ABSOLUTELY HAMMERED that car around the track !! Sitting here watching it and I almost shat myself at the way he did it !! A absolute Master of his craft !! Pleasure to watch and listen to him !! Sadly missed !! 😔
In today's terms he would be the fastest by far. He drove everything at 110%. Sideways, missed gears, nearly hitting walls a constant! Still the fastest of his and a few generations after his prime. Imagine with today's tech how he'd fare? Absolute icon. Vp was my first v8 and she was white. Miss my old girl and Brock
It really was interesting back then. The V8 roar vs turbo whistle, the sleek styling of the gtr coupe vs the boxy sedans, awd advantage when the track got wet, AWD on slicks in the wet vs RWD on wet tyres, it had it ALL. Then they ruined it, instead of being an incentive to Holden/Ford to produce better cars, they just got rid of the GTR.
That was an awesome lap from Brock, but that 1991 lap was pretty spectacular around the early 90's also. Was the weight of Brock's Holden 1300 kg in 1994 ? Just wonder what power he was getting at Bathurst in 1994 in this car ?
TrickyMario7654 ugh maybe that’s cause these cars were still roughly production cars just with a stripped out interior, bigger fuel tank and slick tyres. Nowadays the cars are purpose built race cars. Back then you could go into Holden on the Monday after the great race and technically be buying the same car that’s what I miss about the v8s

I own a VP just because of Brock. Rest in peace you legend. Racing has never been the same since.
ss?
Crystals under the bonnet?
I do too
I bet Brock was a massive influence for people buying Holden
So you own the silhouette of Brocks car 😔
Back in the day when motor racing in Australia was at its best. Nothing beats the 90’s.
You are dead right
Aussie made cars both sides personalities and 5ltr iron lions made by Larry Perkins revving to 7800rpm
What a great bloke he was. Forever remembered, never forgotten.
He even gives credit to Dick Johnson for a good time, sportsmanship right there
The best, the legend. RIP Brocky.
I can watch this everyday.
such a humble bloke, RIP buddy

@@gregworley2465 bored mate? This post is 3 years old and now you reply? See ya loser
Brock was in the zone at Bathurst the way Senna was in the zone at Monaco
Holy crap this is just as fast as they go today! Especially around the top of the mountain
A good 7 seconds off qualifying times of today lol.
@@forsakenoutcast Except Brock was in an actual car. Not a fake "silhouette" science experiment.....lol.
@@janreznak881 no one's disputing that mate, you don't have to state the obvious
Amazing lap
the guy could drive the Mountain
Fantastic . Thanks .
Legend
VPs we’re just not made for handling. It’s impressive how well he handles the big pig

Its crazy the times back then and yet the cars never looked 9 sec off todays time's
I also have a vp long live the legend brocky 05
Holy mint
He is my hero
I was there that year. He crashed in front of us . To bad , Lowndes and Bowe had to stop for fuel .
Lap 138 : Brock lost control and smashed heavily into the wall destroying the car.
1995 - Brock crashed heavily at the cutting in the shootout !
what engines were the Holden racing team running in 1994? 350 chev or Holden 304?
Neither. The Holden Motorport engine was a chev based 18 degree 302 cube engine.
That was an awesome lap from Brock, but that 1991 lap was pretty spectacular around the early 90's also.

Yep around 1300kg and 550hp
Master Brock
Just watched the vn shoot out this things is quiet as out with the Aussie v8 in with the chev
No one comes close to getting those sort of cheers
5ltr Holden engines
Peter perfect in a Aussie made commodore
Hard to beat
You mean 5 litre Chevy engine.
They didn't use the golden engine anymore by then
ben orme mr jonh stonston
Amazing to think that Scaife did that time 3 years earlier in the Nissan GTR
And now the cars are doing 2 minutes four seconds, makes this 2 minutes 12 seem slow
Bet it didn't feel slow in the machinery they were using then though :)
Scott did a 2 minute 3 seconds lap at Bathurst this year.
Touring cars (production cars ) versus Sports Sedans they race these days with space frame chassis etc etc
Considering this was roughly a quarter of a century ago, I’m surprised the current cars are not quicker.
