@@jakealden2517 I don’t recall writing anything about him being surprised. Her intent was to create an embarrassing situation on tv and she succeeded. The more shocking, embarrassing, painful, touching or whatever, the better for ratings. She set him up because it’s her (shitty) job to do so or she wouldn’t get ratings and therefore no ad revenue.

@@PJMontoya It was a TV show. The show was about unusual people in unusual situations. He knew that. He also knew that he would be on national TV. Despite his psychological problems (revealed in the court proceedings) he is still responsible for murder. Jenny Jones and the producers are not responsible for murder.

I was really disgusted watching Jenny Jones being interviewed 4 years later. She knows she made this worse by asking Scott to go into more details about his fantasies, setting John up for embarrassment. She just couldn't bring herself to at least admit that. I know that's how these shows operate. And she probably didn't think she was doing any harm at the time. But once she knew the show did do harm, she could've just admitted it.

ERAUPRCWA that would be valid under different conditions. He’s Behavior was reinforced if you think about. The show along with his friends played on a trick to get a heterosexual man on a show under false pretexts. He felt ashamed but the gay man did not leave him alone. So the antecedent that triggered his behavior was the gay man coming on to him. However, the setting events eventually and the antecedent eventually lead him to snap and kill and the consequence was murder and prison sentence. I believe if it wasn’t for the show, he probably wouldn’t snap and kill. He was tricked and being on National TV was the Motivating Operation was, which increased the effectiveness of the reinforcer, when the gay man publicly announced his lust. Everyone you know (friends and colleagues) would give end up giving you shit and constantly ask you if you were gay and if you really want to be with (whatever his name was). If you were old enough back in the 90's then you know what I'm talking about. While murder is not the answer, you can see the kind of rage it caused this person (and could cause many people living in that time). While many wouldn't snap and murder someone, many would react very badly to this. Whether with violence or something else bad. The episode didn't even air yet and he was probably already dealing with heckling and bullshit from anybody that knew about it (plus the "friend" pursuing him). That was the moment he decided he was going to kill him. I’m not saying it was his fault but Amedure played with fire . I think of this case when I hear about transgender women having sexual encounters with men without revealing their past. No man wants to be fooled with when it comes to their sexuality. The Jenny Jones show knew Scott was expecting it to be his ex girlfriend and was hoping they could rekindle their relationship. He was an alcoholic, with manic depression and Graves’ disease ( which can cause extreme fluctuations in temperament). The show used him and they should have been held accountable. Amedures family was awarded 25million in a civil suit but it was overturned on appeal. I thought Scott got too much time and I’m glad he got out early.

This show definitely aired so that’s a straight up lie!!! I remember this show very well especially where this wasn’t talked about much at all back then nevermind being straight n finding out on national television that your male friend wants to tie you up in his backyard, take out some whip cream, and do things to you that you’d never even think of doing with the same sex!!! I was 15 when this exact show aired and I remember feeling bad for him but I never knew he killed his friend 3 days later! Wow 23 years later n to find this out now doesn’t surprise me although I’d never go as far as murder but could you imagine how he must have felt! You hear him say, “you lied to me” which basically sounded like he was tricked into this and watch when his friend hugs him! You can tell big time through his body language just how uncomfortable his friendship suddenly became!! He turned his body sideways for the hug which was super quick, a quick tap , and then he immediately walked away in complete humiliation
