When words fail and I can’t seem to find any answers for the storm surrounding me, I pick up a guitar. So this week, we want to give you a song a day.
I don’t have the answers, but I do know that love and melody can remind us to have hope, and to be kind to one another.
Music has always been there for me.
I hope you can find some comfort in it too.

That's the yang to the yin, my friend. If you want to experience life, you'll have to experience death that comes after. "Every blessing comes with a set of curses".
Switchfoot's lyrics have been cause for more contemplation in my life than almost any other thing, and certainly more than any other music. A voice of love in my ears for more than 20 years.

I think it also refers to idols. While the world has its babies (idols) he is busy putting those things to death (hearses). His vices are his weaknesses and tendency’s to sin that he is putting to death through the cross. He turns to certain verses to deal with his vices. Gal 2:20. My interpretation.
There’s a realness to your music. This unflinching courage to question, to not have to be right, something you don’t find much, especially in faith inspired music. You helped me hang onto belief when it was almost gone. Thank you for what you do

Jon, thank you for this. Things haven't been easy in Portland, Oregon, these past couple of weeks. A family in my church had lost their young daughter to mysterious circumstances just before our pastors/elders made the difficult decision to close the church doors for the foreseeable future. Even some local businesses had to shut down or change their hours and procedures to accommodate the regulations. A lot of people are hurting and scared, and being someone who's attuned to the needs and emotions of others, my heart truly breaks for my community. Something that I notice in this video is that when Jon sings "Where is God in the city life..." he is almost wispering, like his strenght is almost gone or like he is about to cry and I felt that so deep in my heart. Jon is one of the best live performers ever. When I watch all the live concerts and etc I always feel amazed by the way he sings. You can see that he truly knows what he is saying. And I know exactly the pain of "wispering" the lyrics. I love this video and I love the switchfam and Jon,Tim, Jerome, Drew and Chad. Greetings from Portugal 💕

This song reminds me of the best years of my life. It was just high school I had to worry about, and I had the best youth group of my life. Anytime I wanna think about those times, this song and Souvenirs gets played. We used to play this on loop in our church’s youth bus, we called it the “Party Bus”. I miss those days so much man, it was so simple and growing up is so hard to accept as things and people change. Thank you for this song Jon, it is so bittersweet to me.
Switchfoot is the sound track to my life man. Certain songs invoke specific memories in me. Details I can't retrieve through other means. Memories of my dad, my childhood bunk bed, memories of my first truck. Memories of my band as we mixed in Switchfoot covers to fill the set.
Memories of the coronavirus pandemic. I will remember this week for the fear in our minds and then for the subsidence that Jon helped bring to my family and me.

Word of advice: when things get crazy, pick up your Bible and pray! Playing guitar is always a good thing and it helps but God will help you more. God has all the answers, we don't. Beautiful song man, I love playing it on guitar and listen to VV all the time.
Wrong. A book might do it for you. Music could be better for Jon, specially considering the fact that he has been a musician basically all his life.
What if you read the Bible and the Bible passage instructs you to sing a song of praise or of lamentation? and then by playing a song you...commune with God? and with God's people?
