I think you could've split the fender across the top and down the middle then pulled it out and welded patches in. Would've given you more wheel space.

Yeah, that’s why I never finished this part of the project. Saw too many different possibilities that just worked better.

Sorry for the late response. It takes me awhile to catch up on these things.
Yes, I have a completely different D21 project that will be using 4WD front fenders and a custom rear over fender setup.
I decided to use pocket fender flares on this truck a long time ago, so, I put the brakes on making the over fenders for now. However, I will be doing this 100% on the second truck.

It's called a rasp, or shaper plane for woodworking. The one I'm using is a cheap/disposable unit made by Stanley.
