- Live Trax Vol. 1 is the first release of the Dave Matthews Band's Live Trax series. This two-disc set was released on November 2, 2004 and features the band's live performance at the former Centrum Centre in Worcester, MA on December 8, 1998. The five members of the Dave Matthews Band were joined by guitarist Tim Reynolds and keyboardist Butch Taylor throughout the duration of the show.
During "#41," saxophonist Jeff Coffin from Béla Fleck and the Flecktones guested with Béla and the rest of the band for a 20-minute jam which featured an interpolation of the Flecktones' song "Sojourn of Arjuna" off the album Left of Cool. - Hudba
Not just the best dave matthews song but also the best version. It makes me cry. Just perfect.
A Dave Matthews and Bela Fleck tour would be the best thing could happen to music.
This song may last a thousand years and i'd never get tired of it
I agree with everything you said.
I saw Bela Fleck and the Flecktones open for DMB the first show I went to on 12/29/96. Thought to myself "What have they done?! How can DMB top that?". Both were superb.
franco moline You took the words right out of my mouth, and this song takes my breath away.
It evokes such so much emotions!
Best song ever.
I agree! Jeff Coffin was blessed this day. His best #41 solo ever.
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF MUSIC EVER RECORDED.
A - *$%ing - MAZING. Been following DMB since 1999. Years of listening hours. Carter is the spinal cord of the group and each member an extremity. Supernatural being when together, and they transform with guests like Bela, John Popper, Warren Haynes, Santana.
Keep it up until your last breath David J Matthews.
Best Jeff Coffin’s solo ever. 🙌
best version EVER
Minutes 13-17 get me every time. The. Most. Beautiful. Song. Ever. Love!!!!
How about 8 min?! 🪕
This is one of my favorite versions of #41 (with the full band). The best three versions are:
- #41 with Bela Fleck at Ottawa (32 minutes)
- #41 with Bela Fleck at Worcester, MA (22 minutes)
- #41 from "Weekend on the Rocks"
I was at this show. My first Dave show was at Trax. I still have live bootlegs on cassette from 1991 till early 2000.
ME TOO! i was going to bridgewater state college, and we went.... as long it was the night they played Linus and Lucy..... i could be off a show...
Quarantined - this version makes life joyous!
This was the first Dave show I went to. Amazing to hear this again after all these years. They kicked ass on Spoon too.

Good stuff thank you for this post. ...
Saw Bela with Abigail Washburn (his wife). What an amazing performance. Great experience.
I love how everything just kind of gels together out of a theme that Béla first states at about mark 15:00 .
Check it.

I wanted to go to this show, but was only 17 and didn't have enough money. One of my biggest life regrets.

I wish there was the visual. But it's solid.
where's the live version??
I would imagine that many who have viewed this have also seen the video of the version DMB & Bella Fleck performed in Ottowa in April 2002, but for any who haven't you should check out this: czcams.com/video/S828_f0-dQI/video.html
This version is 32 minutes long - worth every second - and is also on the The Best of What's Around Vol. 1 Encore CD.
I'm back. Still insane.
