yes but one must carry their cross daily, as we all must, Jesus said Follow me, he opened the door took your chains off of you but you got to walk out of that cell, and as many in the oldest apostalic churches aka the Catholic and Orthodox churches belive in redemptive suffering, offering up our Pain joys trials celebrations, spiritual dryness to the Holy Spirit, for intentions, for others, and yes learning from it, sometimes suffering is allowed to teach or build empathy in people as it has for lady gaga, being open to the will of God and doing it, doing the will of God, obediance, loveing humanity even if you dont agree with them or their sins, we are still to love and show charity and be slow to anger though I know thats hard when so many have soo much passion and in this day and age where you cant even trust society to help guide rightly when its actively trying to promote what is evil and forbidding what is rightous and good even by law not just live and let live
You know what gets me about you people talk refuse to understand that God is much BIGGER than just the way you think and believe. She prays to God everyday and she recognizes that she’s because of God and she’s helping people like me, that are disabled/differently abled to keep going and never give up. Either all of you are jealous or ignorant about how God works. Israel doesn’t believe in Jesus and yet they have all you believing they are God’s chosen but any and everyone else MUST believe in Jesus. Something is wrong with y’all😞.

I hope that's true. She would be a great ambassador for Christ Jesus if she were to give her life to Him. She has millions of followers who would hear her testimony and perhaps many of them would open their minds to Him for the first time in their lives.
I believe she's either possessed or heavily influenced by demons. There's a commercial she's in where she's playing the piano and she has white hair slicked back and she wears heavy makeup. She looks like a devil in that commercial. She says God but what is her definition of God? Who does she think she prays to?
God works miracles and He can free her from evil. I hope and pray she meets Christ Jesus.
Brothers and Sisters we need to pray for this woman. Through this illness she may be ready to accept Jesus. I will admit I have not liked her but I want her to truly know God. Pray she comes to the true gospel - the one true God.

I really hope that she is being honest with herself and with God. Her last world tour was very satanic-based. It was all about worshiping Satan. And her entire career, I've never heard her ever speak this way. She has told publicly the media, that she is bisexual she does not follow God and every concert of hers is disgusting. So, I will pray for her. Because if this is truly how she feels in her heart and her heart has changed that would be a huge blessing.

I never watch anything to do with football , but I happened to see her sing the National Anthem at a game several years ago. Her voice touched my heart and I prayed for her to become a Christian. What a voice to sing praises to God some day!

Just because she uses the term 'god' doesn't mean she is referring to the God of the bible. She has shown a lot of satan worship in the past. People who worship the powers of darkness also claim the term 'god'. Which god? Discernment is paramount. Don't blindly trust the words of anyone just because they use the right 'buzz words". Their definition of 'god' is not necessarily the same as yours - this is more true now than before. I agree with many here that she needs prayer. All those who are lost need that. She is among them.

If you have listened to him talk about his belief any time in the last year, you should be fully aware that whatever he found was not Jesus by any Biblical account. Yes! I go through severe Chronic Pain from several Chronic Illnesses! The only way thru this horrific pain is surrendering it to Jesus! To give it to Jesus! I ask Him to use me to encourage others with the comfort God has given me! Thank you for your encouragement Pastor Greg! I watch your sermons at home every Sunday & have for 20 years. We live only 20 min from Harvest Irvine! My prayer is to be able to someday feel good enough to make it to church there!! My horrific pain is so high & it’s 24/7. BUT GOD loves me, takes care of me & holds & comforts me! I thank & praise him first thing every morning! I thank him literally for the breath in my lungs because I also have severe sleep apnea! I was stopping breathing 75 times in 60 seconds! Now it’s down to 47 but still severe. God takes care of me because I still have a plan for my life otherwise I would be in heaven! For years I ridiculed "Lady Gaga" when speaking about her. Then I heard about her affliction, and the pain it caused. These years later, I cannot remember what she has. But, God made me cry in sympathy for her, and to pray for her. My psoriatic arthritis has afflicted me since 1987. It is relentless. I felt such compassion for her and God moved me to try to get my prayer for her, to her. Whether she received it, I do not know. I pray God will grab her heart and open her eyes, she has so much right and the opportunity to share. Thank you for posting this Pastor Laurie.
Sympathy towards those who are suffering is godly, but no matter who it is, we must pray for their salvation first.

Real truth to us all. I too give thanks in my pain or sorrow. I find He is with me in moments of tears and I don't stay there as long because I start worship and He lifts me up. He is like no other. Only Jesus.

I suffer chronic pain, I do t attend church, but I believe in God, I have strong faith and pray often. We grow and learn through tough trials in life. Most of us embrace it all, not just what we pick and choose. Because God is our Savior. Just ask Him to be with you in all phases of life.

True, but we need to realize, humans, learn and grow, even secular people know this but we as Christians bash people that have not learned what we know or at the 'maturity level' we THINK we are at. Nope...God is not abusive and He does not put sickness or chronic pain on people. God is good and His name is Healer. Satan and the curse of sin has caused sickness. God is absolutely good. God died for her healing not to teach her a lesson from chronic pain.

God is good. But God does absolutely "puts sickness or chronic pain on people" as punishment. The three main examples that stick out in my head from reading the word are: Miriam was struck with with leprosy as a punishment from God. The second: God punished David by taking his child. And the third: Saul was struck with blindness for his persecution of the church. I'm sure I could find more examples.
We also read in Exodus 4:11 "Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?"
Not to mention all the times that God allowed Israel to suffer, and even caused it himself, by having surrounding peoples invade them due to their disobedience.
So I'm sorry, brother, but what you said is demonstrably false.
Still, that doesn't changes His goodness. But it does show a God that does in fact, "put sickness or chronic pain on people," as is His right to do so.
@@AFFL1CTED1There is a principal in the Bible called sewing and reaping. When we sin, we reap a harvest of death/destruction. Every person has been born in sin (Romans 5:12-14) That was true in the Old Testament and it is true in the New testament. What changed between the Old Testament and the New Testament is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When Jesus died on the cross He became the curse of sin and God judged Him so that we wouldn't be judged. He ushered into the world a new covenant so that everyone could come to Him by faith. (Galatians 3:13). By doing this people could be redeemed from the Mosaic law and no longer face God's judgment. Each example you gave was from the Old Testament and from people who lived under the Mosaic law, but now we live in an age of grace (Revelation 22:17). When Jesus died on the cross, God judged Him. There is no scripture found in the New Testament where God inflicted sickness on people as judgment for sin, since Jesus became the curse of sin for man and was judged for it. Instead you see that Jesus healed people and told us who believe that we would do the same and greater. When people who haven't accepted the saving work of Christ walk in sin or believers who have disbelief they reap a harvest of such. That's why people - believers and unbelievers alike get sick and are not healed - not because God inflicted sickness on people. We live in a fallen world but God's grace provides healing and salvation, not judgement. Jesus came and showed us the Father and only did what He saw the Father do. He healed every single person who came to Him including sinners - without exception. These were signs of a new covenant under grace. God has not judged people with sickness since the work of Christ on the cross of Calvary.

Second, you're trying to do the same thing to me that you accuse me of doing to the op. What a hypocrite.
Third, going back to my original comment, not all of those examples were from the OT, it was Christ that caused Paul to lose his sight. Ananias and Sapphira were killed on the spot for trying to deceive the Lord. Herod was struck down because because he did not give praise to the Lord (Acts 12:23). Those are three NT examples. Also, Hebrews 12:6 says, "For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives." Some translations use the word "punishes" in place of "disciplines."
Regardless, the OT examples are still applicable, as God doesn't change (Hebrews 13:8). Furthermore, 2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness..." Did you catch that? All of scripture is good for correction. Which is what I was simply doing. Meaning, the bible encourages us to correct one another. Proverbs 27:5-6 says, “Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses."
Fourth, you say, "When I comment on something another person said, I agree and uplift." What? So even if what that person believes contradicts the Word you just simply agree? That's asinine to me. That's exactly how we have come to the point of churches preaching a different gospel then that of our forefathers, by people "agreeing" and not standing bold in what the word of God says. Remember, Jesus said in Matthew 10:34-36:
"Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 And a person's enemies will be those of his own household."
Finally, my original comment stands. And again, before you twist my words, God can punish and still be "Good." It sounds to me like your definition of "good" doesn't align with the way the bible uses it. I say all of this as encouragement for you to study your word. I'm not trying to make anyone look stupid here nor am I trying to be mean spirited. We are to encourage one another in the training of righteousness. Though, notice how I respond both times using scripture, and you just responded to me with your opinion.
