You have the characters completely right. Dimash's character married the girl, they had a daughter & she was expecting another baby. So the little girl who was killed was their daughter. The house where she died was their family home & Dimash came back & found everyone dead.
The voice effect is, I believe, a kind of yodel used in certain tribal vocalisations. All of the vocals in this part are relevant to all the various tribes/religions we see walking through the mountains, displaced because of war.
Yes, we all consider this to be Dimash's masterpiece. He wrote the story, composed the music & the screenplay & it was 3 years from start to finish in all.

Hello Oke! Thank you for your sincere reaction, you figured out the story line, great observations! When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least!
Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was walking under the overpass, also when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that?
Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace, and harmony and through his many charities. He is a Legend in the making and will go down in History.
This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it:
This mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was created by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The boys both loved the same girl, but she loved Dimash, so the other boy grew resentful over time, started a war, using the symbol of the necklace given to him by his friend Dimash, as the crest on his army uniform.
1) Dimash, was the boy drowning at the beginning and at the end.
2) The Piper, is the one who saved Dimash, became the leader, and was killed by Dimash at the end.
3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son who inherited the necklace from his mother…, they were all affected by the war.
“People are the caravan…. Life is the way”: Dimash spoke these words in Kazakh, when he found his daughter dead.
For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love, and harmony.

In The Story Of One Sky he composed and sang the whole soundtrack himself.
The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In composing, in singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But simply unbelievable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. You probably have to see it more than once to understand it.
He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay.
The premiere was on September 24, 2022.
As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is. During his concerts he always tells the audience he loves all people in every country. He visited so many different counties with his concerts and he realized that there are no bad nations (only bad leaders).
And OMG he is such a phenomenal actor.
Dimash was the little boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. She was pregnant and in the end of the video she gave birth to her and Dimashs' (character) second child. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. When he came home and saw his daughter dead on the ground, he had to assume that his wife and unborn child were also killed. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. When I first saw the video, I was shocked. I didn't think he was going to shoot his friend. But in the end that all made sense. Dimash wanted to show what revenge can do. Violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. It was so heartbreaking to see Dimash drown at the end. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace.
In this video you can see how the main religions are represented mostly with his voice. Islam with the type of Arabic melisma (unfortunately I don't know the correct explanation for this type of singing), Buddhism with the monks and the enchanting "Om", Judaism with the shofar and the Christian church with the soprano singing, which often can be heard in churches.

By the way Dimash has received an award from Pope Francis personally at The Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Kazakhstan on September 13, 2022. He performed the song there in connection with the congress before the premiere. Can you imagine, a Muslim receiving an award from the head of the Catholic Church. How wonderful is that🥰.

👉 That is the grandiose and impressive result of three years of compositional work by Dimash Qudaibergen.
This clip is not about war, it’s about peace. War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. It is about the call to unite, to stop dividing each other along national, social, religious lines in order to preserve life, love, friendship, and the land for our children.
Story: The clip is divided into several parts. One day the friend saves the protagonist when he almost drowns. The three children are friends and their common external symbol is the necklace (gnomon).
Both boys are in love with the girl. But she chooses “Dimash”. The other boy feels hurt.
The pendant is a gnomon, the shadow hand of a sundial, which served as a nautical compass in ancient times. This symbol is upside down on the uniforms. (That's not how it works.)
It's war. The children are grown and the two boys have parted ways. Dimash's childhood friend has become the country's president/general and mercilessly follows his twisted ideology.
As an antagonist (He is the Piper - based on the “Pied Piper of Hamelin”), he carries the idea of a saving war:
“Only war will lead us to peace. Only the strongest can find love in their hearts. You must be strong enough to give freedom to the world. A world where every city, every home is one. We accompany everyone who is ready to start this new life. Anyone who resists has no place with us. I choose freedom. The world is my oyster and I want to give it to you… War is the way to a united people!”
The main character, Dimash, also speaks of unity, of peace, but through the lens of kindness and love.
He's struggling, he's confused, he's in shock, but he has to save his family - his pregnant wife and his young daughter.
When he finally comes home, he is horrified to discover that his entire family has been killed. His wife has disappeared and his little daughter is dead. The loss of his daughter almost drives him crazy.
(Dimash says in a growling voice: Адам керуен, өмір жол. Man is a caravan, life is a road. - Kazakh proverb)
He wants revenge and an end to the horror. He shoots the general, his childhood friend and former lifesaver... and is killed himself.
The protagonist's wife survives with the help of people who know that she is the one who will give birth to a special child.
The many pilgrims are people of all religions who walk together the arduous path to the light, to a place of hope, truth and peace.
One day, the protagonist's son grew up to be one of their leaders.
The words at the end of the video are from the "Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together" signed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb, on February 4, 2019. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting.

My opinion: The whole song is an outcry. Dimash's unmistakable emotionally charged voice draws you into the video. I was totally hypnotized. My heart aches because of the wars and misery in this world. The greed, envy and intolerance of men will wipe them off the face of the earth if they do not come to their senses. Children and women are targeted victims of annihilation and rape in wars. But they are not just victims or mothers. They are half of humanity. Where are they? Why don't the women climb the mountain side by side with the men and head towards the sunrise and a better future? I only see men running mercilessly past a collapsed comrade-in-arms. Nobody helps him. What future can such a humanity await? Will anything ever change?

(1) Dimash composed the song and participated in the arrangement, in addition to acting in the mini-film. The lyrics of the song and Russian poet Lilia Vinogradova and the video direction by Alina Veripya!
(2) The artifact that the boy found in the trunk and that was turned into necklaces is a "gnomon", a needle for a sundial (a rustic device for keeping time);
(3) The name "Piper" (piper, or piper) is known as a synonym for "dictator", "despot": This originates from the tale of the "Pied Piper of Hamelin" (folk tale rewritten by the Brothers Grim), where a piper was hired to deal with the rat infestation of the city of Hamelin (Germany, 1284). There are several live versions, including the debut which was at his "Stranger Tour" concert in Almaty. He has since performed this at all of his concerts on the Stranger Tour.

I heard an opera singer call the trill a "goat trill". It has been said to have appeared in music by Handel and other composers. I've also heard it called at least two other things, one of which sounded like it probably was formally correct, but all I bothered to remember was "goat trill". ❗200 YEARS AGO THEY SAID IT COULD NEVER BE DONE AGAIN ! too difficult and intricate, when Franz Liszt composed the first symphony in shortened form. Then Dimash composed this one, wrote a screenplay, acted it, sang it, put it in movie format, distributed it and took the breath away of the international music community ! Within weeks LA knocked on his door and at their invitation he spent 3 weeks in meetings with top executives and artists.
You really live in a parallel universe....
Liszt wrote the first Symphonic Tone Poem and changed music forever which is essentially what this is, Dimash was intent on standing on his shoulders and soared. This piece is a part of his Doctoral thesis for his PhD in Composition which he is currently writing, and usually take years, and unless his Mother is lying and music scholars and acamediciians wrong about the comparison and his genius it supercedes it, his goal. Within weeks of its release, LA was knocking and at David Foster and other executives and artists invitation, be spent 3 weeks in meetings with them and months in film school there, his performances schedule around his studies. Hey, I'm happy in this knowledgeable and informed universe. Yours ?... iffy.

Главное - это мощнейший посыл к прекращению войн ! Одного не учёл ДИМАШ : в нынешней ситуации речи диктатора хотелось бы услышать на русском языке для полноты эффекта данного мини-фильма. Один сумасшедший российский фюрер, так же как в этом фильме воинствующий диктатор, - путин развязал чудовищную войну против соседнего суверенного государства Украины под надуманным предлогом защиты своей страны от мифического врага. Привет из Одессы всем адекватным людям, друзьям Украинцев ! На днях очередной ракетный обстрел искандерами забрал 21 жизнь Одесситов, в т.ч.6 детей, были разрушения, главного Православного Собора города и множества исторических объектов, находящихся под охраной ЮНЕСКО. Не перестаёт удивлять изысканная подлость русских тварей, состоящая в том, что после первого прилёта они стреляют в то же самое место, но когда туда уже прибыли спасатели, медики, пожарные. В результате ещё больше убитых, в т.ч. спасателей и медиков. Вчерашний день и эта ночь также сопровождалась бесконечными воздушными тревогами и ракетными обстрелами.
