Thank you, Sarah, for working while on vacation. I actually got chills when Luke and Jill showed up with their family. I also got the holy goose bumps when the gravel work was being done. Whether you and Solo funded it or not how nice that your children could work alongside the KKV children to complete a huge task. It may seem insignificant to some, but what a blessing to have that need be filled and work together towards a goal. No pun intended!

How fun to have so many family members together -- when I was growing up it was this way at my grandparents.. all the kids would come home and there would be as many as 50 kids,spouses, and grandkids staying in my grandparents house
We always went to visit my grandmother too. Most of my family lived very close to her. All the siblings from out of town would come home at the same time. It was such a wonderful time. Family would put up family and then we would meet up at grandma's house. Such special memories. 💖 Family is everything ❤️.

If I had seen lion prints outside my house, I would have spent the rest of my vacation locked up indoors. It's so cute seeing all the little kids having their own eating table.😊

I love seeing the beautiful smiles on everyone’s faces. It’s so easy to see the love in these families.
There were 4 of us living and teaching at a Mission in the highlands of Papua New Guinea and we went through a long stretch of dry weather and the water tanks were very low. So we got out the tractor, attached the trailer packed our soap and laundry and headed down the mountain to the river. We made it fun as 20 somethings do, but I think we were happy when the rains came again and we had the "luxury" of hand washing them in the tub back at our cottage. That was 55 years ago and I often think about it and thank our dear Lord as I'm lugging the laundry downstairs and remind myself that I have a washer and a dryer no less!

I learned real quick, NO washer and dryers while I was backpacking through Egypt and Israel. Thankfully I LOVE handwashing clothes! Nothing beats the satisfaction and fulfillment of being self-sufficient! LOVE ❤ ❤ your videos!

What a surprise! I thought I saw Luke in the thumbnail. How wonderful to have both sides of the family in Kenya. When I saw the picture of Solo and Luke getting ready for your wedding I instantly saw Luka in Solo! So cool to see the giraffe and warthog. My mother used to sit to chop and prep meals she had osteoarthritis, so it was comfortable for her to sit to prep meals. Boy, I miss her and her wonderful cooking. Your family is so beautiful. I love seeing how close you all are and how much time you spend together.❤ ❤❤

Thank you for sharing your vacation and family with us. When I was young we had a very unreliable washing machine. It wasn't unusual at all for us to be washing our clothes in the bathtub. Someone gave us an old wringer washer. I was so happy to have that thing. It was more labor intensive than our normal washing machine but it was reliable and saved my back. I was only 10 or 11 and remember asking my Moma if we were going to be beating the clothes on rocks at the creek next. She replied that only sarcastic little girls had to do that. She shut me up real quick. I sure miss my Moma.

Here in Mexico where I live many good family restaurants have playgrounds for the children one even has ceramics that children can buy and paint. Wonderful.

Thank you for sharing your family togetherness and adventures. Your comment on laundry made me want to tell you that my washer literally kicked the bucket, sounded like it was going to pound itself to death! To be fair, I've been fairly demanding, but nothing more than my mom would have expected from a washer. It was a leap of faith, but your recommendations have been spot on for me, so I held my breath and got a Speed Queen. I've had it 3 days. It's smaller than my old one, but let me tell you it is SOLID. It did 2 loads (including towels) the first day. The second and third day, it did regular laundry plus a rug (both days, my dog had tummy issues). It hasn't even blinked. Thank you! I expect it's the last washer I will ever need.
Sometimes we just have to pull the trigger.....so to speak!

I differ with you Sarah, my family would travel to a small farming town in Mexico every year and our favorite thing to do there was wash by hand. Our host had a cement slab made with grooves on top of a table top pillar. A cement wash board. We would wash with pink Zote soap whatever we found to wash. Her washing lady had to wash while we slept I guess. Anyway it had a built-in drain hole on the bottom and you used a can to pour water on the clothes. We wanted one built for us to use in the USA but Dad never made us one.
